Behind the Scenes: The Story (2026)

Rehearsals are underway for The Story, and the National Theatre's Instagram account recently shared a video with some behind the scenes footage. Squint and you might catch Antonia in the background 😄

it looks like they've added some musical elements which I don't believe were present in the original play. I'm even more excited now to watch once it hits their streaming service!

As a reminder for UK fans, The Story opens in 3 weeks on August 27th. A few nights are already starting to sell out so you may want to secure your tickets now if you're hoping to attend on a specific date. Tickets can be purchased from the National Theatre.

Interview: Cakey Tea with David White

Antonia did a short interview with BBC Radio's David White in early 2023 as part of the Nolly promotional circuit. After creating a minor scandal by requesting pumpkin pie for tea, she goes on to discuss her role on Nolly and returning to acting after taking a break to have children.

Remedy Entertainment has released a story trailer for CONTROL Resonant which confirms Antonia will be reprising her role as Emily Pope from the original CONTROL released in 2019.

After years in confinement at the hands of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), Dylan Faden emerges into a warped Manhattan at the peak of a paranatural crisis. Antonia's character Emily Pope is the Head of Research for the Federal Bureau of Control, a United States based federal agency tasked with researching and containing paranatural phenomena. If you haven't already, I highly recommend playing the original Control - it's my personal favorite game, and Antonia's character is super fun and plays a major role in the story

Y'all know how excited I am for this one! I am eager to see how Emily has changed in the 7 years since we last saw her - the Imperial Commander fit and little 2010 Hot Topic punk earring are already very intriguing updates to her character 😂

CONTROL Resonant is available for pre-order now for PC, XBOX, and PlayStation, with a September 24 2026 release date. Purchasers of the digital deluxe edition on PlayStation will also be granted early access to play on September 22nd.

Upcoming: The Story (2026) - Jessica Dunn

The National Theatre has released the full cast for "The Story," confirming that Antonia will be playing the role of Jessica Dunn. The show will be running in the Olivier Theatre in London from August 27th to October 24th 2026.

There’s the truth and then there’s the story When a white teacher is killed in a black neighbourhood, four journalists race to get the headline – at any cost. But when shocking new evidence pulls them into the dark heart of the case, they are each forced to confront what they’re prepared to risk to tell their version of the truth." Gripping and adrenaline-fuelled, Tracey Scott Wilson’s seminal newsroom thriller is directed by Clint Dyer (Death of England) with a cast including BAFTA Award-winner Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Ashley Thomas (Hostage), Lorraine Toussaint (Orange is the New Black), and Wilf Scolding (Cabaret).

Antonia's character Jessica Dunn is the murdered teacher's pregnant wife, and the only eyewitness to the crime.

Tickets can be purchased now from the National Theatre for those able to see it in person. There's a large number of shows, including some accessible performances. There's also £5 and £10 discount tickets available for UK residents between 16 and 25 years old. If you're in or near London definitely take a look and see if you can find a show that works for you!

For the rest of us - the October 5th performance is being filmed, which is likely for their streaming service National Theatre at Home. When / if that becomes available I'll post a link so we can enjoy her performance from a distance 🩵

Holby City (2004) - Claudia Marsh

Antonia appeared in episode 21 of BBC medical drama Holby City's 6th season, "Honor Thy Father."

In "Honor Thy Father" Antonia plays Claudia Marsh, a young woman who loves the nightlife. Her party girl lifestyle seems to be catching up with her when she's injured after the balcony collapses under her at a night club.

This is one of Antonia's earliest credited roles, and it's quite charming to compare this baby faced version of her from 20+ years ago to her more recent work. If I hadn't seen everything she's done in-between I'd struggle to believe it's the same actress!

If you're located in the UK, you can watch this episode of Holby City on the "U" streaming service, although the quality is poor and the episode is shortened and thus missing one of her scenes. This season is not available via legal means outside of the UK as it was never released on DVD and isn't available streaming or for digital purchase internationally.

Death in Paradise (2026) - Pearl Lewis

Antonia played the character Pearl Lewis in episode 6 of Death in Paradise's 15th season.

Death in Paradise is a BBC murder mystery show set on the fictional Caribbean island Saint Marie. After DI Mervin Wilson (Don Gilet) goes missing on Antigua, his colleagues in the Saint Marie police department learn he was last seen with the owner of a juice stand named Lester Lewis. Antonia plays his wife Pearl, a woman living a surprisingly lavish lifestyle for someone married to a man who slings juice for a living.

I've seen a handful of episodes of Death in Paradise so I'm familiar with the typical episode format, and was subsequently a little bummed to find Antonia's character weirdly underutilized. She barely interacted with the other "suspects" and didn't even get to be present for the grand reveal at the end! I think there were just too many plotlines going on in this episode for them to give her much screentime sadly. Still, lovely to see her getting her island glow on.

Also considering she was married to a man known as "Captain Juicy," I'm disappointed at the missed opportunity to refer to her as "Mrs." Juicy 😂

Death in Paradise's 15h season is currently only available in the UK on BBC iPlayer. Historically Death in Paradise seasons do eventually get DVD releases and debut on international streaming services like Britbox, but as of now there's no confirmation of this for season 15. Walden (2026) - The Hostess

Antonia played the role of "The Hostess" in Paul Farley's radio drama adaptation of Henry David Thoreau's Walden made for BBC Radio 4.

Starring Matthew Needham in the role of Thoreau, the Walden radio play consists of a series of vignettes from his life after he decides to go live simply in a small hut in the woods. Thoreau's words are presented as monologues interspersed with his conversations with various villagers and visitors. While most of the other characters in the drama are skeptical or hostile to Thoreau's philosophy and choices, Antonia's character is a steadfast supporter (and also seems a bit smitten).

Very happy I caught wind of this one before it was completely gone from BBC's website! Given the tendency of stuff on there to disappear, I made a quick clip of the scenes that include Antonia's character. Please forgive the roughness of the cut and any issues with audio quality.

If you're located in the UK or can use VPN to spoof your location, you can listen to the radio drama in full on BBC Radio 4's website, which claims it will be available for "over a year". I'll note I had some issues with this, as the page that lets you play kept auto-redirecting to a 404. Hammering the Esc key as soon as the page loads worked for me to break before the redirect.

Upcoming: Death In Paradise S15 (2026)

Antonia will be guest starring in season 15 of the BBC Murder-Mystery show Murder in Paradise.

As of now it's not been confirmed who her character is or which episode(s) she'll appear in. The first episode of the 8 episode season will premiere January 30th on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. As with The War Between the Land and the Sea, non-UK viewers will need to use a VPN to watch the show initially. However, past seasons of the show have eventually made their way onto other global streaming platforms.

UPDATE:

The BBC's Death in Paradise episode guide confirms Antonia will be appearing in episode 6 of season 15 as a character named Pearl Lewis.

Mervin stumbles across a crime scene when he goes in search of his brother Solomon on Antigua. In a remote cabin, a local businessman has been shot. But Solomon and his associate Cheech both swear the other is responsible. And they’re not letting Mervin go until each one has convinced him of their account. One of them is lying. But who?

Episode 6 will debut March 6 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, probably at 21:00 UK time but that isn't confirmed. As of now nothing has been said about when this season will be made available on Britbox or other international streaming services.

Antonia Bernath as Katie in The Boat That Rocked (2009)

The Boat That Rocked (titled Pirate Radio in the US) tells the story of a group of DJs operating “Rock Radio,” a pirate radio station broadcasting from a boat floating just outside British waters in the 1960s. Antonia’s character Katie is a weather reporter for a rival radio station who gets seduced by one of Rock Radio’s DJs.

Heartbeat (2006) - Lucy Bellman

Antonia appears in episode 15 of season 15 of Heartbeat, "Hostage to Fortune," which aired in 2006.

In Heartbeat Antonia plays Lucy Bellman, a young middle class woman who's been seduced into a life of crime by her bad boy boyfriend, Rick (Edward MacLiam). When she gets injured during a robbery, Rick kidnaps a local doctor (Sophie Ward) to treat the injury. The doctor attempts to convince Lucy to see reason and leave Rick and their life of crime before it's too late.

Honestly I love this one just for giving us Antonia as Lucy robbing a bank at gunpoint, rocking His & Hers leather jackets with her boyfriend, and cruising around on a motorcycle to 60s grooves. She does a great job balancing Lucy's tough girl act with uncertainty and fear as she becomes more aware of Rick's cruelty.

This episode of Heartbeat is available streaming on Amazon Prime for US subscribers. A DVD of the season was sold in the UK, but it's out of print and difficult to obtain without paying a fortune. I have also created a video with just Antonia's scenes.

The War Between the Land and the Sea (2025) - Rose-Marie Hunt

Antonia played the role of Rose-Marie Hunt in several episodes of the 2025 Dr. Who spinoff The War Between the Land and the Sea.

In The War Between the Land and the Sea, a species of intelligent aquatic lifeforms called Homo Aqua reveal themselves to humanity, demanding they immediately cease their pollution of Earth's waterways. A low level UNIT employee Barclay Pierre-Dupont (Russell Tovey) is unexpectedly thrust into the position of ambassador for all of mankind as tensions rise between the species, escalating into war.

Antonia's character Rose-Marie Hunt is a spirited and persistent reporter trying to get the scoop on Barclay's role as ambassador and the state of negotiations.

This is a small role, a handful of scenes less than 30 seconds a piece. The little we get of the spunky Rose-Marie is quite fun though. I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed that her character will get called on for future cameos in the Dr. Who franchise 🤞
