A friend of mine said I could use it — they were right !
Essentially, I now have all of my published MOCs sorted by theme in a single place (as well as a few unpublished ones !)
Here it is https://antrylis.carrd.co/ !
Antrylis's caard page !
It also feature some none-Lego photographs, too, feel free to take a look.
Small, unnecessary update bellow the cut :
I’m gonna have to remove the 'one post every Wednesday', for multiple reasons : firstly, I’m gonna start a long maths cursus which won’t leave me much time to build — or even to post; and, beside that, I’m running out of MOCs ! I still have a few, which I will probably work on and queue so that they appear semi-regularly. I received just earlier today part of the pieces I’ll need for my final(?) MOC. And it’s a big one. Well anyway, I’ll be off to work on it now ! Thanks for reading this far~
hello i’m very late to this but i was wondering if you had a parts list for the prototype boba fett brickhead?
I'll do one better for you !
(I made some slight colour modifications because some parts were not available in the colour I used. The printed parts sadly are not available in white, though)
I can't believe I insist on naming these. Anyways.
Been a while ! Studies are taking a toll, but I've been making some things in the background, and here's one of them ! Somewhat madmax/borderlands inspired, it wasn't even the original plan.
As always, technical rant under the cut.
Not sure what happened to the image quality. I may update the post with some less terrible pictures at some point to fix it.
The original goal was to make a nice display piece for the lego truck I managed to put my hands on. Once the road was done, I realised the truck was too yellow to fit the base, which is ironic considering the purpose. So I scrapped the truck idea and, given the color scheme I had chosen, went for something funnier.
So, about the base itself !
I went for a cliff-like environment, mostly because it gave the whole chase scene more stakes, and was better than having the road directly on the base plates. What I've done there is mostly layering the brown and grey plates (mostly angle plates to give it some texture). Later on, I've added a few plants in the form of olive green leaves and some dead bushes. Anything brighter was far too contrasting, considering it was not where I wanted the attention to be (it's just there to break the monotony of the rocks).
I gave a the road a little bit of texture too, although it's not that visible with all that's sitting beneath it. It's better than plain studs everywhere.
The back is far simpler, because it's not meant to be the main viewing point according to my composition. Still, I've added a few funny details in the form of little caves underneath. I'm still not sure what to put inside, so I'm open to ideas.
Now before tackling the vehicles, I must say I'm quite proud of this little scene on the side :
It's only there to fill up the bit of empty space I had left, to balance the MOC, but I do like it, because it sets the theme as a whole : a burning motorcycle, scorpions, and traffic cones, which are a really absurd addition considering the utter lack of safety of everything else happening (I also like the small motor which was sent out of the motorcycle. Which also burning).
I've added a few more of those small details in the form of traffic signs : the one on the right is busted, and the one on the left has been modified to add some informations about whatever hideout some gang is using.
Now for the vehicles. What's important to have in mind is that I picked out minfigs first, and chose the colour scheme of the vehicles based on that.
The first one built was this orange truck :
I had a bunch of these ninjago figs hanging around, and their overall appearance (with a few modifications) were just perfect for the theme. And the colors (orange, grey, olive green) can be found on the truck. There is a whole lot going on that would deserve its own explanations, but I'll only go over some details I really like (or the post will be faaar too long).
One thing that's already visible (somewhat) is that I used some large technique panels as a base for some of the large parts like the trunk and the doors. That may not be their original purpose, but it's just about the right size.
Bonus mention to the axe on the right, which comes form a Bionicle set. It fits seamlessly with the theme (chainsaw axe is kind of tame in the end isn't it ?)
The front is an entire mess of weird techniques and pieces used in the completely wrong way.
Most obvious are the brick separators. They work really well, and are held in place by the motor more than anything. They also hold the windshield part at a pretty nice angle. Then the front is made up of minifigs backpacks, race car fins, and buoys. Also some stud shooters and a tube added into the mix. It's all a beautiful mess, and this absurd motor in the middle also give off the vibe I was looking for of big, stupid engines which probably make horrendous noise.
The back part is somewhat more messy, but on purpose.
Again, lot of pieces used in the wrong way (and more buoys with the crane !) The bionicle glatoran shooters are my favorite, they have such a cool texture. There's also a powerminers sawblade (I can and will make as much 2009 sets easter eggs as possible). I've added a mismatched droid in one of the boxes as some form of scrapped piece. It's a mix of Geonosis droid, commando, and Grievous. And some dynamite, because of course.
I added a pulley to the crane to give it some depth, because the original design was really flat. It's not exactly attached to the rest of the truck that well, but I can't really do that much about that.
For the other side of this conflict, I chose a bunch of funky looking minifigs with more or less cool designs. Grey guy is part Star Wars, part Exoforce (and the flame of the flamethrower is a Chima fire wing !), the driver is part ninjago, the one on the right is mostly just a painter from some minfigs collection.
There is also a mechanics in the truck if you look close enough. Pat Star Wars, again, with cool red hair barely anyone can see. Whoops.
Also yeah the engine is on fire.
I wanted something more compact, more bulky for this one. Partially because I already had motorcycles, so there was no need to accommodate for as much minfigs, and it does fit the vibe I was looking for.
Notably, from this perspective, Very big wheels (mounted on a retrofriction motor, so technically this counts as a retrofriction vehicle, with, again absurdly big motors, and even reactors on the back. I've added part of big spike ball on the front wheels just because.
The small crane above has a neat little trick of using hinges as a appearant support, but that's about it. Important pieces to notice here are the train stopper thinies on the ide to give some texture, and the reactors, where a lot happen. The cylinders come from an old space set, and then the cones are hive pieces (no clue where they actually come from though). And the flames there are Chima fire swords. Chima had some really cool pieces, shame that it was terminated.
Also, the barrel of the riffle visible here is a light saber hilt from one of the big figs they did at some point.
The front and cockpit are really messy, and some pieces like the windshield aren't even attached at all, just kind of stuck in place...
The character has a children face, because of course it's a children operating a vehicle with a very very big plow. I like the plow a lot, it's, once again, just absurd. The teeth are large Chima claw, and the back is just large panels, as they have just about the right shape.
Now let's talk about the composition of this thing a little bit (which will give me some more excuses to give other build details).
I've always planned it with the front in mind, but I tried to make it viewable from above too, because if I ever have an occasion to partake in an exhibition, most people (except children, which are the best audience) will see it from a much higher angle.
Either way, I really wanted something dynamic for this diorama, which is not something I usually go for. Lot of chaos, but at the same time, the two gangs still had to be recognisable (and the uniformity for one of them helps quite a bit). Still, orange group is mostly contained in a single triangle, and the rest is happening on either sides of the road.
As far as dynamism goes, this might be the best part :
I quite like the way these are put. I especially like the jetpack on the left, which is a superposition of various illegal techniques. One of the characters is flying directly toward the other vehicle, and the other is hanging from the crane, but kind of pulled backward by the acceleration.
The same idea applies here : the one on the trunk shoots at dynamite man, who rushes towardthe character hanging from the inside of the vehicle targeting the black motorcycle which is getting hit by whatever is attached to the crane.
It's less dynamic from the front itself because the vehicles don't really look like they're moving, and I'm not sure how to fix that just yet (maybe some smoke...)
Now, though, is the moment I point out the stupidly big weapon in the hands of spider-legs man, and digress on the weapons here. Because most of them are absurd (to fit the theme), but more than anything, were not made for this MOC, rather, it's just a really fun thing to find unconventional ways to make lego weapons, or improve the ones already available. I really like that big square one, which is nearly too big for a minifig. Another technique I like to use profusely is to employs some really niche pieces to add some detailing to them, like ice skating blades (two of them present on this MOC). And of course, all form of handles and light saber hilts are great ways to add shapes, textures, and length to just about anything.
And that's about it. Wow. That was longer than expected. If you've made it all the way down here, thank you for taking this tortuous journey, and I'll see you next time, hopefully ! Now I shall return back to my slumber...
Sorry for the horrendous image quality, had to improvise a shooting studio (see how well that turned out).
From Subnautica, obviously ! This one unlocks my favorite place of the first game, I figured it was worth giving it a try. Additionally, it's my first time doing a 1:1 scale (more on that below).
(^ the main ref)
Aaaanyway, as always (even though it's been a while), details below the cut.
So, 1:1 scale...Thankfully, Subnautica has this convenient view of the tablets which made the measurement somewhat easy :
I measured it here, compared it to the hands, and compared that to the size of my own hands, so I was relatively confident when I started working on it. In the end, it might be a little too wide and not long enough, but that's mostly to blame on the first major problem of this build :
The small characters on the side.
I had the size right, and envisioned two possible models to make them :
The first one has more possible segments and is much easier to work with (it's a pure square), but given how the characters looked, the second one made representations easier without tweaking them too much (some still had to be replaced though). Problem number one : it's very inconvenient to implement because the middle part is free-floating. That part was easy enough, it's a technique I've been using quite a lot since I've made the Citadel, so I'm starting to get the hang of it, and a lot of build is full of them (all the holes appart from the center one below) [my desk is a mess] :
Second problem : this design isn't a square but a very inconvenient rectangle : it's a 5x4.5 rectangle. And that .5 isn't exactly easy to correct, so...I didn't, meaning there are a few .5 gaps in the back (then again the back is partially covered by the support, so it isn't a big deal). The main advantage of this is that it forced me to have smooth tiles on all sides, instead of just on the top, which means that pretty much every side of the build is smooth (if you don't look into the details too much).
Once these were built, finishing the frame was a matter of getting the shape right, and forcing pieces to connect with a tad too much pressure (it's for their own good, trust).
Then, the actual screen(?). As you can see in the above picture, I started with plain orange. Now don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but given this is meant to emit a glow of some kind, I've changed one of the layers for a mix of the various transparent oranges lego has released over the years (three different ones, hardly distinguishable, which works in my favor). The most difficult part there was getting angles on this flat surface. Here again, the solution was...brute force ? I made holes barely large enough with black slopes, and shoved the orange bars into it. A lot of this screen is free-floating parts (anything that isn't fully horizontal), but it's such a mosaic in there that nothing even dare to move.
My main issue with this is that, scale-wise, there clearly was a problem, because the symbol a the center is too small, it should take up a larger part of the tablet. I blame that mostly (but not only) on the gap between the small characters being much wider than I'd like, but I had no choice if I wanted to keep them properly separated while keeping a relatively sturdy build which is only 3 bricks thick (and I can even hold it in my hands like in game, which is crazy for something I have made).
Then a little bit of support, and that was done (this bit as easy, I've had waaay more complicated supports to do).
Really cool song from Frums, and always a fun level in rhythm games~ I really wanted to try to replicate the cover with a few details of my own.
Getting all the right colours (still unsure about that) and then the background and the writing, all was kind of a hassle, but I like how it turned out, and might dabble with other similar things in the future~
It even hangs on my wall !
Also two of my fav artists have seen and liked my work when I posted it to a discord words can’t express the joy aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
(If you wanna check them out, and you should really really do it)
Organic things aren’t exactly my strong suit, but it won’t stop me from trying.
Anyway, I feel like summer was yesterday, and yet it’s in a mere few weeks, and I watched the seasons pasts through the sparse tree of city parks. Kinda depressing.
So uh, anyway, I did trees. Just below is all four aligned on a shelves, and under the cut is a detailing of all things I did.
~Autumn~
Colours ! I had a lot of funs with all these colours. I really like all the shades of green and orange of Autumn. I tried to keep the light brown tones to the right, and leave more of the green/orange ones directly beneath the tree. Fallen leaves, right ?
Same for the tree foliage, which was a mix of various hues I had available. That's technically what started this whole project : I have a box full of foliage pieces of various colours, and they already looked like they were sorted out by seasonal colours. The rest came naturally. Although it was kind of a pain to find the right shape for the canopy assembly, because I had limitations on a few colours (notably the brown and pink ones).
Then came the tree. I already knew the general shape I was going with, but implementing it was another challenge. The colour of the trunk was a problem too, because I used most of the proper brown pieces I had for another set of much larger trees. Black was the most reasonable choice, because that's not exactly a colours I'm missing, and it clashes well with all four environments.
To get the shape right, I started with a flat section (the front one), tweaked things until I was happy, and then added mod 1x1 bricks to give myself means to make the three other sides. There are a lot of odd and twisty angles here, so some connections are a bit strange, but it worked out well in the end.
I also didn't want it to sit straight on the plate, so I used a mixels ball and socket joint to attach it to the ground. It's a surprisingly sturdy connection, and means I can give the main trunk nearly any angle.
I was missing one or two things from my vision of Autumn though, so I scavenged through a bunch of boxes to find some mushroom caps (and I found this nice red printed one, although I know there's a brown printed one somewhere, too...), which add some colours to the set, and a bit more variety in the shapes.
And I had to include a bat and a spider, for the fun of it. I have so many spiders, and no idea what to do with them, so I've been throwing them around in various small MOCs recently~
~Winter~
The first one I did. Well, mostly. The 'foliage' of this tree was the last thing I did, out of that whole MOC. It's obviously an accumulation of illegal technics and doubtful connections, yet it's somehow strong.
Anyway, I did this one first because it's the simplest one shape-wise; which gave me a guideline for the other ones. The objective was to keep it relatively smooth - because that's what snow tends to look like, at least from what I remember. Although I did have a hard time getting enough pieces...I wonder why.
The original baseplate was half as small, but I quickly realised that if I didn't want to have a flat square, I would have to expend. So I did.
You might notice the water doesn't look the same here : I tried to make it appear as frozen, so I've used light blue trans tiles instead of the darker ones, and another shade of blue underneath, which looks somewhat more ice-ish.
~Spring~
More colours ! Not exactly a realistic approach to that season, but that's the kind of picture I have when thinking about Spring. And I find these shades are quite complementary. Of course, after being covered by snow, I figured it would make sense to keep some parts of bare ground, while adding some lime green. I could have gone for a 'more reasonable' shade of green, but not only would that restrict the difference between Spring and Summer; this light green works better with lavender, and give a bit of a fantasy look to this part, which is definitely how I envision Spring.
And flowers, of course ! Flowers everywhere ! I had to restrain myself from overcrowding the set with too many of them. Of course, even if the foliage of the tree was already pink, I had to add more, so I chose these flowers, which are quite convenient because they have an actual stem, which make them fit easier on leaf pieces. They also have a really nice shape. I think they're the most recent ones of my collection.
Taking the lego-flower-time machine, you can spot light blue ones, which are technically backward on the stems, though I feel like that differentiate them from the ones on the ground (and from the red ones in the background). Then, there are the four-petalled ones, both pink (on the ground), which serve as actual flowers; and the green ones, which acts nicely as stems for the small yellow flowers. Then, the sharp red ones in the foreground, which come from old Friends sets. There are roses coming from these same sets, but I felt that they didn't look 'lego enough' to be added there. Finally, the old yellow ones. I don't remember where these come from (though if I could hazard a guess, it's from the System period), but they look nice, and add a bit of variety to the flower shapes.
Oh, and I also added bugs, I guess. I found them while scavenging for flowers, and figured it couldn't hurt to add some of them. Kind of a shame they're all red, but I work with what I have~ It's also definitely missing some form of bee, but at that scale and without a premade piece, I gave up on the idea. It's a shame, because the buzzing of bees is definitely part of the picture.
~Summer~
Can you tell I didn't know how really to picture summer ? I'm still not sure how to represent it. Lush greens, I guess, and fruits in the trees.
So I added some animals, and tried to keep the water akin to Spring's. I do like the animals, at least. The fat bird was fun, and regrettably not that easy to properly attach to the tree(I'm tempted to make more of these, given how easy and fun it is). The fox tail was pretty funny too. It's also the one spot of bright colour there. I used part of the series 19 fox minifig, which fits well in the gaping hole I accidently left purposefully added to the tree.
And if you’ve made it this far…Behold ! The concept art for this whole thing !
So, uhm. I wanted to post something a bit different here today. Behold a short thing I did a while ago (I'm actually posting it because I found it while cleaning some files). I'll admit, the quality of both the image and whatever I was trying to tell is pretty low. But I think overall, it's still surprisingly decent, for what it's supposed to be.
I did a lot of these some time ago, but it's terribly time-consuming, so I've had to stop. Hopefully, next break, I'll have the occasion to do these again (now with better image quality, and even proper MOCs to use). I miss doing stop-motion a lot-
I sadly don't have much of that project left (images, bits of the background...), though strangely enough, I still have some of the characters. Though I know why the lighting is so bad : at that point, I only had a set of blue lights, which caused this blue filter all over it (it looked really nice, though. Without any camera...)
I won't point out all of the weird details, but I am still quite proud of that odd use of a hair piece as a broom. Some pieces certainly have some unexpected uses.
So I found another technic. And it makes for great (albeit round) trees.
Anyway, some rambling about that below.
Another angle. It's not needed; but oh well.
It's very simple, I'll admit that. Then again, I don't do purely organic MOCs very often, the last one was probably my Camp Site, and it wasn't the main focus at the time, but I'm trying.
Anyway, if you actually decided to read that, you're probably seeking whatever technic I used to make that, not the random rambling. So here it is :
To sum it up : core piece is a modified 1x1 brick, surrounded on all sides by two flower stems (I've used the bar ones, the stud variants work too). Then flowers and leaves. To give some varied shapes, you can get some leaves upside down (cyan ones on the image), and you can also get rid of flowers by using a piece on the other side of the leaf (any piece works as long as it has a small bar connection), like the blue one on the right. Of course, same trick as before to give some shapes. It has some limitations, but I still think it's relatively good. If you like sphere, that it, hence why using a couple of them is better.
Also, I feel like, since I'm yapping about organic MOCs, I have to present my very first one :
That's ugly. But at least, you can technically tell it's a flower.
It's fragile and it's not interesting, though one funny thing is that, in order to keep it from collapsing under its own weight, I've had to add small iron bars (think unfolded paper clips) in the stem, which is actually really sturdy, while allowing for curvy shapes. Probably the only thing worth keeping from that thing.
Anyway, this whole tree thing was an accidental tangent from an actual, cool(?) MOC I was working on, which might actually be posted next week. Or maybe not, who knows really ?
Where do I even start with that ? Oh, yeah. It’s not done just yet (if that wasn’t obvious enough).
Though, I won’t have the opportunity to work on it for a while, so I figured I might as well share the progress.
Obviously, I’m missing the water; and an outside — as well as a few other things I’ll mention somewhere below (along with closeups and way too many details, as always).
If you don’t care about any of that, you could still check up my silly little FP there !
Lots, lots of things to talk about here…
(Structure first, feel free to skip to the first actual close up if you consider that as boring.)
First of all, here is an edited version of the first pic, with water :
Looks much better already. And although it might prove complicated, I have a plan. Sort of. Because Lego has this really cool, transparent blue piece which they produced a lot of : folding garage doors. They’re everywhere on firefighter sets, and they’re really wide. With a few tricks, they might work.
As for the outside, well…I’m not there just yet. I’ll try to cover it up with some Iterator-esque pattern, I suppose.
I’m also missing a scug ! I absolutely want one, and given how I chose to represent the scene, it won’t be Saint nor Spears (shame). Rivulet is really tempting, but it might make too much blue; currently, my choice might be on Monk, to have sufficient contrast (and Monk is cute). Though I might change that, depending on how much small yellow pieces I have.
Now, before talking about the inside, let’s take a peek at the outside :
Here it is (back side, specifically). It’s a bit of mess because of the technics im using — which I’ll come to in just a seconds — but I also find it oddly fitting with the Iterators theme. The blacks on each sides are holding the cube together, and the technic bars in the middle are ensuring everything is held together — and also compensating for the weight of the top plate, kind of like how I did with my Carrion MOC a while back.
Anyway, the Technic™️.
The one thing which I find striking in Iterators cans is the tiling (14x14 from my last count), and it’s not that easy to replicate through Lego. Either you have no gap at all, and you use only the tiles’ grove as a separation (which, here, is way too small) or you make them very far apart, which looks terrible here). However, my tiling technic here is (not entirely mine) usually something you’d see to make floors, especially castels.
Here, I have three layers : the dark grey layer, which is the base; the light gray, which is the tiles; and, in between, I have a layer of black dots forming a grid diagonally to the first layer, on which the tiles are placed. This diagonality explains why, on the pic above, my plates have so much spiky edges, and which I have to use this whole complicated system to hold everything together.
Of course, it gets worse ! Because the cans are not perfect cubes, the edges are bevelled. And so I bevelled. Now, with all these intricacies, there was no way any regular connection would keep these edges in place. You can also spot what I used instead, which is an awful lot of ball and socket joints (mixel style). Incredibly useful, those pieces.
Anyway, enough boring structural details, here come the fun part !
Small things first, here is a comparison of the first vs final design for the neuron flies :
I’m really glad I actually managed to do that — they’re an important element, and the conception had me worried for a little bit.
The first design is, in my opinion, the best one can make at this scale. Slight issue : it’s not actually physically possible to make it hold together. After a lot of different iterations (ah !) I’m came up with the design on the right. It’s a bit more square, but it has a distinct head and floppy tails, which was all I was asking for. Obviously, the two tooth pieces I’m using are hardly held at all (using a mod 1x1 joint piece). There’s also, behind, a white dot with a hole, which ensures that these can be connected to the background via the long, transparent bars. Wasn’t easy to stick them without breaking them, and there’s no way I’m touching these now.
Her. She is the central piece of my MOC after all. It took me a while to figure out the design (mostly the head), but I’m glad of how it turned out. It’s not perfect, of course, but I feel like it works well, both scale-wise and color wise. And there’s only one (two) illegal connections, for the antennas which I’m making using hands. It’s very tempting to draw her a face — I’ll probably consider it, at some point.
The arm behind is also relatively good, with loose cables hanging from it. Once again, ball and socket joints are here to save the day; although I do feel like some parts of it are a little bulky, and it doesn’t drop down low enough…
Additional details, the piles of debris.
It’s…really difficult to make debris which don’t look purpose, and aren’t simply horrendous to look at. I tried to keep some grey tones, but also incorporated some brown, because it does actually bring some well needed contrast to the whole scene; and a few plants.
Speaking of plants, I’m no really liking these vines hanging from the ceiling (much thinner and darker in game), but as far as my expertise go, I dont see another way to get them here — and if there’s nothing at all, the whole piece suddenly gets really dull. Of course, there’s also the gap in the ceiling, with cables falling out; this, I will add more details to later on — and I have the hope to get a proper light source to go through it and act as a sun which will fall directly on my small LttM.
To conclude, here are final views of it, from further away, and with a brick separator from scale. It does look quite flimsy, doesn’t it ?
Oh, and, well. I’ve been messing with Dots recently. Figured this was worth including as a footer (probably on of the first achievements I unlocked — poor Moon~).
It’s a bit sketchy, but I really like the idea of small boxes diorama, so that you can just pile them up (this one is roughly the same size as this other thingy I made .
(You can also check up my Moon design, while you’re here !)
I tried to cram as much stuff as possible in there (an overseer, pearls, the entrance tubes…), which is quite the challenge in a 6x6x6 cube. I also added a small rail for the arm to 'slide' on. The technic itself is not exactly difficult, although, once more, brick-textured bricks are here to save the day. As it is the only 'illegal' connection of the whole build (who could believe it, coming from me, uh ?), I’ve also been refining it in StudIO to possibly make other Iterators~
Everything is held together through these four black brackets on the back, which makes working on it ridiculously simple : I can simply clip off a panel to modify it. (Also featuring my hand, for scale and because I still can’t take photos properly, it seems.)
Speaking of, since you made it all the way down here…I’m also working on another Rain World MOC, just a tiiiiny bit bigger. So here’s a sneak peek~
Hey I don't know if you saw my repost on your post but I would appreciate and would definitely built a brickheadz version of the boba fett prototype minifig that I have as my profile picture. Your post says feel free to request any more and I thought it was worth a shot even though I doubt he'd appeal to more people than me.
✨Boba Fett Prototype ! ✨
Hi ! This has been in my inbox for ages, I know. Finally had time to give it a try ! Had a lot of fun, actually, mandos have some really interesting shapes.
And, because it took me so long, I figured, I'd also give instructions, too. Some colours might not be available, though, but white should be pretty easy to find for the outside pieces.
Couldn’t miss this year’s Christmas-themed MOC, of course ! Although it certainly is way less 'christmasy' than the previous ones (here and here) and more of a general winter decoration, it fits well.
There’s not a lot of technical work here, the spheres are classic designs which I tweaked a little, the arms are quite simple, the scarf has nothing complicated either; the only interesting bit might be the hat, because I used a really old technic piece — can’t find its id on bricklink… — with some other gears and such.
Anyway, merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and good day to everyone else !
Also, sorry for the terrible pic quality, I don’t have any proper set up; and I know I have a few things sitting in my inbox, I’ll get to it I swear.
I really like messing around with minifigs, and I had recently got my hand on a 501st battle pack, which meant I had some spare accessories !
Of course, custom weapons, else it would be no fun, and of course of of them use illegal technic, because it's kind of my signature at that point. I really like how they all turned out - including the Dimension plates which are a really nice display base.
The most interesting piece it the small cloak piece I used on the sword one (Nexo Knight sword obviously !), because, first of all, it's blue, and it comes from some Marvel sets, which isn't a theme I manipulate often - which is a shame, there are some really cool pieces in there.
Also, these need names, but I did not find any yet...
I’ve been messing around with water technics recently, and this was born. It certainly could be improved, but I like it like that.
There’s not much to mention about the build itself; except maybe the tentacles, which are only made out of the 1x1 round bricks, and nothing inside : they bend quite well and remain relatively sturdy when doing so.
As for the water technic I mentioned, the goal is to cover everything with tiles of one of two colours; and make a gradient underneath (see below). I also added some dark red into the mix to try and replicate the body of the thing underwater, with mitigated results.
