I have been learning to draw for about a year now but I’ve just started to kind of take it seriously. I want a place to better log and follow my improvement! Always click the photos for better quality haha

Here’s my introductory post I guess

I’ve been on tumblr for years and run a couple of blogs for fun.

I realized that this was probably the safest place for me to better catalogue/chronicle my art journey. I’m bad at sticking to one sketchbook, which means I can’t just flip through an old book to see how I’ve progressed over the past couple of months.

I am working on little comics featuring my squirrel buddy, her name is Ash, but I’m also trying to get into more detailed and larger scale drawings.

I celebrated by scuffing up some muppets because I have realized I can draw whatever I want and it does not matter if it looks exactly like the real thing

My attempt at the scuba robot sketch you see everywhere. Not sure if this is a whole trend that I’m arriving super late to, but I kept seeing the little guy pop up while searching for reference images so I finally tried my hand at it!

A coffee shop I visited over the weekend

I remembered seeing some illustrators only put in a few bricks for a building and I am thrilled with how that turned out

I tried to do some crosshatching here and there but I still need to figure out how to make that actually blend into the world instead of just looking like a bunch of random lines

Over all I think this is an improvement over my church drawing from only a week before

Took the book out on the road again yesterday

I will most likely finish this up with pen this afternoon. I want to try practicing shadowing a bit more and I think this will be a good subject for that.
