HARRY POTTER HAD '90s TEEN HEARTTHROB HAIR IN DEATHLY HALLOWS

I saw some fan art (which is lovely btw) that referenced the passage in Deathy Hallows that says once the trio is at Malfoy Manor, Harry has shoulder length hair:

According to the CDC, the average growth rate for scalp hair per month is 0.5 in (1.25 cm)

And experts (google ppl) seem to estimate the average head length is about 9.4 in (23.9 cm) and neck length to be about 3.9-4.7 in (10-12 cm)

I can’t seem to find reference to anyone except Charlie getting a haircut in DH, but if Harry did get one, it would probably be around July 31st, when Charlie gets his and before the wedding.

Meaning there are approximately 8 months between Harry’s (possible) last haircut and when he sees his “shoulder length black hair” at Malfoy Manor in late March.  Which would be about 4 inches of growth over the course of their camping.

So, if Harry’s hair is going to reach his shoulders in 8 months, it needs to be long enough in July that 4 inches would get him there.  And figuring any kind of short hair would be about an inch or so long, and the average male head is about 9 inches in height, his hair wouldn’t have reached past his chin, at best.

Taking all this into account (4 inch long neck and 4 inches of hair growth), Harry’s hair would have to be on the long side (possibly near his chin) at the beginning of Deathly Hallows for it to reach his shoulders by the end of March.

And since it was the late ‘90s, I think it’s important to remember what the hot Muggle hair trend for tween/teen boys was:

What's your opinion on Peter Pettigrew?

i feel like he’s that kind of person who normally wouldn’t be a part of your friend group but he was just kinda there and one of you felt bad leaving him out and you sort of feel bad for him as well plus it’s nice having someone around who’s impressed by literally anything you do, cause maybe you like having a personal cheerleader around because who doesn’t. but then after a while you slowly start to lose your patience with him because it seems like he never brings anything new to the group, but it would be awkward telling him to leave so you end up maybe avoiding him sometimes or making passive-aggressive jokes hoping that he takes a hint. but of course he doesn’t and well, it’s not like you can tell him to go at this point because he’s seen you do unspeakable things over the years and maybe you’re oddly fond of him, like that cousin who lowkey annoys you but at the end of the day he’s part of the family folklore. so he sticks around and you still poke fun at him and you’d never think he bears any actual resentment for you because that’s just how it had always been. but then one day he snaps out of nowhere, sells one of you out to the dark lord and frames the other for murder, generally makes things really awkward for everyone and then stalks the son of his dead friend posing as a rat.you know what i’m talking about, everyone has a friend like that.
