My take on the nyoungliz situationship bcs they’re growing more nd more distant and it’s lowkey killing me 😞
i think wonyoung has known since she was young that she’s attracted to girls, and she definitely has a specific type—which is obviously yujin. as a wiz*one, it is honestly painfully obvious wony has been pining for her since day one. she clearly likes confident girls who keep things exciting and challenge her, but she also needs someone who can relate to her lifestyle, kind of like gaeul or yujin. plus, wony is always saying she likes older people. since she’s the youngest sister at home, was the youngest on pd48, and the maknae of izone, she’s completely used to being the favorite one who gets spoiled. even though she talks about wanting to be an adult, she 100% brings that "i want to be the younger one in the relationship" mindset into her love life.
but the sad part is, i genuinely believe yujin knew exactly how wony felt at some point but just didn't return those feelings. instead of a direct rejection, yujin just subtly drew a line by constantly labeling wony as a "little sister" both in public and private. wony is smart so she saw right through it, and that heartbreak is something she still carried with her even when things started happening with jiwon.
now, we all know jiwon had a massive crush on wonyoung. it started as trainee admiration when wony was already a huge idol, and it only deepened after they debuted and spent more time together. i do think wony genuinely liked jiwon back and was even infatuated with her at times, but it just wasn't as deep as what she felt for yujin. wony knew this too because she kept comparing how jiwon made her feel to the effect yujin had on her, which is why her feelings for jiwon stayed pretty shallow. jiwon was basically just a phase. on top of that, wony's busy individual schedules meant they barely spent time together, unlike yujin who she literally started her career with. so wony never really knew jiwon on a deep level, and honestly, she wasn't even interested in getting to know her better. in short, jiwon just wasn't the right fit for her, even though jiwon felt like wony was the one. it's a cycle jiwon is to wonyoung what wonyoung is to yujin.
i'm convinced they definitely had their intimate moments, maybe even hitting home base, but once wonyoung had her time with her, she was just done. she basically ghosted her. they never officially put a label on it, but jiwon could tell wony was getting tired of her because the texts slowed down whenever wony was away, and eventually wony started ignoring her during group activities until the connection just faded. to this day, jiwon is still hurting from what wony did, knowing she’ll never get the kind of affection she gives wony
