Here's the dreadnought I made.
Should have this neck done on Monday.
Started making a neck for that body I made at the beginning of February.
Purple.
In the past few weeks, I bound my acoustic body in flame maple, inlaid my logo (which I cut by hand from mother of pearl) into the acoustic headstock, and routed pickup, tremolo, and control cavities into my electric body.
Neck blank has been made into a neck by use of a rasp, a file, and sandpaper. Also cut out the headstock on the bandsaw
Sorry I haven’t posted in a couple weeks, everything I’ve done has been so visually minimal that it hasn’t warranted a post in my opinion. However, this is where I am as of today. My acoustic body is glued together, and my electric neck is ready to be carved.
Made some bracing for my soundboard, and got work done on my electric neck.
Productive day today! Finished up the rosette, carved my back braces, cut my soundhole, and glued in neck and tail blocks
Started my rosette today, and also got the veneer glued to my body
Glued in my back braces, bent the sides, and cut out the electric body
Got my truss rod into my acoustic neck today, cut channels for the rosette, got my electric neck blank, and also got my electric veneer all seamed up.
Got my headstock veneer down to proper thickness, finished my back braces, cut slots in the seam strip for them, and got my fingerboard location set on the neck
Glued the seam strip into the acoustic back, and then sanded it to correct radius and thickness. Also got my electric body blank glued together
Spent a fair amount of time making up back braces today. Also got my headstock design drawn up.
Body template has been made for my electric
