UPDATE: We've adjusted the schedule to push Check-Ins from June to Late July since we realized it's too early to worry about that. For now, we'll be focusing more on advertising the group, working on promo images, and inviting people early!

Hello! We are Ao Carnival & Friends, and we are very excited to release details about our first ever zine, Narcotic Nightmares!
Narcotic Nightmares is a dream-like horror zine. It's main theme is unreality, but it also features gore and some (non-sexual) nudity.

But enough of the cover art! What about the artists?!
Well, we have had the pleasure of having some extremely talented artists to join us! Let's go meet a few of them who have agreed to be part of this highlight, and take a small peek at their contribution!

Regarding NN Zine Sign-Ups
Hello!
We've officially decided that Sept. 16 (the day of our first Check-In for rough sketches) will be the last day to sign up for the Narcotic Nightmares horror zine (read here for info)! Otherwise, we have stop promoting it as of Sept. 2! :)
So if you are interested in being a late contributor, please reply or DM, and we will DM back with the invite link!

Will y'all run another zine project like narcotic nightmares! Disappointed I barely missed the contributor deadline- there's so few horror zine projects out there, and would love to be part of a project like that if you ever host something similar in the future!
Hello, I apologize, I wrote the previous post wrong! 🙇 What I meant is that I'll stop promoting sign-ups so we can focus on working on the zine instead! We are still happy to accept contributors if they are okay with being a bit late! We're thinking maybe we'll actually close contributor positions on Sept. 16, which is when our first check-in happens (for rough / thumbnail sketches).
If you are still interested in joining, we would be happy to send an invite link in your DMs!
To answer your question though, we would definitely love to do more zine projects in the future! Ideas I've had floating in my mind were Narcotic Nightmares II (a second edition to our current theme), phobias, etc...

You don't have to! As long as you understand and agree to the rules, we don't see any reason for you to show it. :) All skill levels are accepted!

Art pieces will be primarily black and white. Coloring is optional.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18+ years old.
Must not use AI.
Must be okay with all forms of horror including gore.
Must acknowledge that this zine is being done for fun and is non-profit.
SCHEDULE
[ August 24 - August 31 ] Recruitment + Ideas Phase!
[ September 16 - October 15 ] Drawing Phases
[ October 25 ] All drawings ideally submitted.
[ October 31 ] Ideal release!

Come join Ao Carnival as we explore the curious, dark depths of the mind in our dream-like horror zine, Narcotic Nightmares.
