Night On The Boardwalk (Dwayne Stephens X Fem! Reader) Part 3
(The Lost Boys X Reader) Part 1, Part 2, Part 4 (Part 4 will be out shortly)
Summary: You thought it was over with Dwayne; just something strange that happened, but he couldn't just let this be. He had to see you again.
You were completely silent the whole drive home. Dwayne’s monstrous features kept flashing in your mind each time you closed your eyes, and it made you feel nauseous. The question was still there; what is he?
“You look sick.” Your father broke the silence, turning his head towards you before focusing back on the road. “Are you sure you’re alright?” You groan at the question, pushing his hand away before he could touch your forehead to check for a fever. “I’m fine…” You sigh heavily and lean your head back against the glass.
“Alright…” Your dad gave you one more glance before focusing on getting both of you home. You look out the car window at the night sky and hope it’ll cure your stomach bug before you throw up, stomach churning. You tried thinking about anything but Dwayne and the stomach bug, but all that you could imagine was his eyes.
You weren’t even sure if what you saw was real anymore. It was unusual for you to doubt yourself like this, especially if it was something you saw inches from your face, but you were suddenly unsure.
“Oh, what the hell?” You turned your head towards your dad, seeing him turning his head towards you while his eyes warred with focusing on the road and whatever was out your window. Curiosity got the best of you, and you turned your head, seeing four bright lights zooming down the beach, kicking sand into the air. You sat straighter and squinted your eyes to try and get a better look, making out the shapes of motorcycles.
“Just some punks, Dad.” You rolled your eyes at the reminder of Dwayne and his loud bike. What if that was him and his friends? You grimace at your own thoughts. Why should you care? “Nothing but trouble…” Your dad mutters to himself in the background as you rub your eyes and lean your head back against the seat, his face making another appearance in your mind. It was infuriating as much as it was confusing; why won’t he go away, and was what you saw real?
It was pitch black outside; your dad drove slowly up the road on the way home. At least you didn’t have to worry about that weirdo climbing up to your window. You lived in the foothills, and you were confident that a punk like Dwayne wouldn’t commit to you long enough to visit you tonight. But the lights that kept flashing in the distance were a literal sign that he was, in fact, committed to you. You just didn’t want to realize it at the time.
You were awoken by the sounds of hell and floodlights highlighting the whole house as whatever was outside circled your home. You swung your legs over the bed and rushed towards the windows to see what was going on, but the moment you pushed the curtains aside, the lights vanished. Everything abnormal vanished. It was quieter than usual.
You swallow hard when you spot a figure on a bike down the road, completely idle behind the small fence surrounding the property. “Dwayne?” You whisper to yourself as your eyes slowly adjusted, trying to make out who the person–No, people outside the house.
You gasp softly as you could make out three more figures right behind the first one. What the hell was happening? “Dad!” You shout as you turn away from the window and leave your room, darting downstairs while calling for your dad. “Dad, there’s someone outside!” You turn the corner and nearly scream. Dwayne was at the back door, the screen door being held open by his hand.
“Angel, quit your screaming,” He whispered, hand pressed against the glass as you hurried closer, eyes wide and your eyebrows scrunched together. “What the hell are you doing here?” You asked as you checked the back door. Locked. “I had to see you.” He began, sounding breathless as he took you in. “Listen, back at that shitty burger joint, I don’t know what happened.”
You scoff at his words and anxiously glance over his shoulder. “Did you bring people here? I saw three other people outside my window, Dwayne.” He looks over his shoulder quickly before turning back to you with a shake of his head. “No one else is here. You must’ve imagined it.” He murmured, letting go of the screen door and letting it hit his back as he pressed both hands against the glass, gaze locked onto yours.
You couldn’t argue. Your breath hitched again as if something knocked the air out of you. You must have imagined it… You must have imagined what happened between those two buildings–No! No, you didn’t imagine it!
You shake your head and wipe at your eyes hastily, jumping when the wind howled. “Angel, let me in. I need to talk to you.” He said softly, being mindful of your dad, who was asleep not too far. “No, I’m not letting you in! I don’t even know what you are!” You rasped, and he sighed heavily, frustration evident on his face.
“Come on, let me in.” He was basically begging, leaning against the doorframe with both hands gripping the top.
“No. You’re a vampire, you’re something unreal, admit it.” Your voice shook slightly, but your demand was clear enough. He clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, scoffing as he glanced behind him again before looking right at you.
“You seriously don’t think that, do you?” He asks, leaning heavier against the door before his hand let go of the frame, reaching for the door handle. “It’s locked.” You quickly say before he could test it, a smirk spreading across his pale face. “Really now?” He leaned in closer to the screen with a barely audible click. “Locking me out? I’m not gonna bite you.” He chuckled, tilting his head slightly as he took in your scared face.
“You scared of me? Come on, don’t be! You know me, right?” You hesitate, eyes glancing at your dad’s door for only a moment before darting back to his eyes. “I’m not scared, but you’re not allowed here, Dwayne.”
“So, you are scared. Admit it,” he threw your words back at you, and it was like you were stuck in a trance, eyes locked onto his like a deer in headlights. It was… Infuriating? You were in a daze.
“You need to leave..” You finally managed, at a loss for words, to stare at him like this, the moonlight beating down on him, reflecting off his leather jacket and highlighting his eyes. Dwayne finally broke eye contact with a blink, glancing away before standing up straighter with a heavy sigh. “Fine.” He admitted defeat, but you had a feeling this wasn’t gonna be over anytime soon. He fluffed his hair before adjusting his jacket, eyes scanning the field before glancing back to you.
“See you tomorrow night.” He left just like that. Your eyes followed his retreating form, watching as he got on his bike, the lights temporarily blinding you as he backed up the bike and took off, revving the engine as dirt flew into the air.
“How annoying..” You mutter to yourself, closing the curtain before deciding to just head to bed with a lingering feeling you couldn’t quite figure out. You looked at your dad’s door again before climbing the stairs. You entered your bedroom feeling like something was missing, like there wasn’t enough air being let into your lungs.
You locked your bedroom door just to feel some sort of security. The wind howled into your bedroom, and you spun around only to see Dwayne’s figure blocking the moonlight. He was
inside your room, back to the open window. “How…” You breathlessly tried to reason with whatever logic there was when dealing with something supernatural.
“Don’t be scared, angel…” He swallowed hard and gently shut the window, approaching you as you backed yourself against the locked door. “Please, I just want to explain.” His hand tentatively reached out, pausing in the air.
“What are you..?” You ask again as your arms were wrapped around yourself, fear and the sudden chill in your room making you tremble in front of him. “The undead. What do you think?” He hissed as he dropped his hand, his other one wiping his mouth as he looked torn between something. “I’m a vampire, alright? But I’m not here to hurt you.” He clarified quickly.
You shook your head and unconsciously pressed yourself harder against the door as the instinct to get away from him was too much to bear. “I promise.” He added gently, taking a half-step forward. “I promise that I just want to see you again…”
“See me again, my ass!” You shrieked, and he quickly charged forward to slap a hand over your mouth, making you cry out into his hand. “Be quiet!” He urged as he listened carefully for the sounds of your dad waking up downstairs. It was quiet downstairs. Good.
You dared not make a sound as his hand shook, sharp nails pressed against your skin. After an agonizing moment, Dwayne turned his head towards you. “I’m sorry,” he slowly let go of your mouth, testing if you’d scream, but you remained silent. “I know this is sudden, but I do like you.” He suddenly said, eyes flickering down towards your nightgown.
“You look beautiful…” He snapped his eyes back up to yours, and you shuddered. Your hands landed on his chest as you turned your head away and took in shaky breaths. You felt as if you’d been starved for air, but you were too afraid to breathe too loudly. “I need to sit…”
“Alright,” he gently took your hand and helped you to your bed, watching as your knees threatened to give out, but you sat down before they could. You stared unblinking at the wooden floor as Dwayne left your side to retrieve his leather jacket hung on your closet door. You’d nearly forgotten you still had it until he carefully draped it across your shoulders.
“Warm up. You look like death warmed over,” he chuckled humorlessly, watching your expression warily as he awaited your reaction. “Technically he has…” You sniffed, wiping your ice-cold nose with the back of your hand.
He smiled warmly as he sat next to you, the bed dipping under his weight. “At least you still have humor,” Dwayne murmured, hand brushing hair out of your face. You both sat in a silence that held a sublime feel to it. You still couldn’t wrap your head around the fact Dwayne was a vampire, but it was true. No denying anything with him now.
“Y’know, you’d think your canines would turn into fangs, not the ones next to them,” you suddenly say, the image of his vampiric face in your mind. Dwayne was a bit stunned before a smirk slowly spread across his face. “I never thought of that.” He smiled widely, and you slowly turned your head to look at him.
He scooted closer to you before looking around your bedroom, marveling at everything. “I like your room, angel. Good taste.” He complimented you and made you smile only slightly, shock still dominating every other feeling. “But I did mean what I said earlier.” He turned his body towards you, and in return, you finally looked him in the eye. “You look beautiful.”
He finally managed to get a full smile on your face, a glint in his eye as he watched you shift. You didn’t know what to say, biting the inside of your cheek as you looked away. “I didn’t know you could get shy…” He teased, his smirk only growing as he wrapped an arm around your
waist and suddenly tugged you closer until your side was pressed against his. “I’m not shy, Dwayne.” You mutter, only to squeak in surprise as he leans in and kisses the spot right under your jaw. “Too soon?” He asks against your neck as your skin flushes beneath his lips. You inhale shakily, looking down at him and shaking your head. “Not at all…”
He takes your words as encouragement and trails kisses across your jaw and to your lips, his fingers digging into the flesh of your hip. You hesitantly kiss him back before getting braver once his fangs didn’t pop out like the first time.
With a quick move of his free arm, he brings your legs over his lap and leans further into you, breaking the kiss for less than a second. Your hand lands on his chest as the other goes to his shoulder, opening your mouth. His tongue reverently glided across yours, and you return the action.
Dwayne leaned in to kiss deeper, and you both fell back against the blankets, breaking the kiss. He sucked in air as he watched you smile, moving to sit against the pillows. His hand came up to wipe his mouth as he grinned and quickly kicked his shoes off. Your eyes were stuck on his as he climbed over you, hands boxing your head in. “You taste sweet.” He said as he leaned down to nip at your neck.
“You wanna fly, angel?” He suddenly asked, grinning widely at you. “Fly?” You raise your eyebrows and squeal when he abruptly flips your position. Dwayne was now on his back with you straddling him. You gasp and look around as the two of you start to levitate off the bed. You let out shocked laughs, completely bewildered, as he just smiled at your reaction, holding your hips tight. “Cool, huh?”
“Cool!? I can’t believe this is happening!” You gasped, almost forgetting to keep your voice down as the two of you slowly descended back onto the bed. “How did you do that?” You ask, your face hovering over his while he just shrugged and pulled you back down for a kiss.
Night On The Boardwalk (Dwayne Stephens X Fem! Reader) Part 2
(The Lost Boys X Reader) Part 1, Part 3, Part 4 (Part 4 will be out soon)
Summary: Dwayne took you to dinner, but you were too stuck on the fact that... What were you stuck on?
Dwayne took you to dinner, a smug grin on his face as he sat across from you in a random burger joint. Maybe he wasn’t as bad as you thought, but there was still something about him that made your stomach twist.
“So, you finally gonna talk to me?” Dwayne asks, bringing his soda to his lips as he watches you eat intently. “What do you wanna talk about?” You threw a question right back at him, eyeing him suspiciously before looking down at his food, or lack thereof.
“Why didn’t you get something to eat?” Dwayne just shrugged, reaching out to steal a fry from you. “Wasn’t hungry,” he replied before smiling widely at you. “You um..." He looked down, lips pressed into a thin line as he snapped his fingers. "You work at the shop close to the beach, right?” He pointed at you, nodding towards the direction of your dad’s shop.
“How do you know that?” If you weren’t uneasy then, then you were definitely uneasy now. “I’ve been meaning to introduce myself for a while now,” he winked and took another fry as if he didn’t just send a shiver down your spine. Your hands shook as your eyes snapped back down to your food.
Your appetite was ruined now.
You didn’t even notice you were blocking out Dwayne’s words as you stared at the table, trembling slightly. You swear on your life you’ve never seen this boy before, but all of a sudden he admits he’s been right around the corner this whole time?
If this were any other boy, you’d probably be flattered; I mean, knowing a cute guy has been plotting on you this whole time? What a dream! But this boy had to be dangerous… It wasn’t because he’s some punk, but you couldn’t stress this enough! Something was seriously off about him, but you didn’t know what. Maybe that’s why you’re so jittery all of a sudden; you don’t know why your senses were screaming danger at the sight of him.
Your eyes snapped towards him when he suddenly let out a heavy sigh, sitting up before leaning back against the booth with his arms draped against the back. “Are you even listening to me?” Dwayne asked, his jaw visibly tightening as you quickly sat straighter. “Mhm,” you nod, but he just scoffs and shakes his head lightly. “Then what did I just say, hm?” He asks, jaw clenched as your face turns as white as a ghost.
“Unbelievable.” He shook his head while staring straight at you, eyes full of frustration and disappointment as he suddenly stood up. “Where are you going?” You ask as he runs a hand through his hair, fluffing it up before leaving the fast food joint.
You watch him go before forcing yourself to get up, his jacket suddenly a heavy weight on your shoulders. You don’t know why you’re following him, but you tell yourself it’s because he left his jacket with you.
“You forgot your jacket,” you say as you follow Dwayne between two shops, his shoulders tense as he keeps on walking. “Hey!” You call out to him, and he finally stops. It was like he was waiting for you to get closer, just standing there like a statue. Too still for someone upset.
“Hey…” You repeat yourself and take a few cautious steps towards him, squeaking in surprise when he suddenly whips around and storms forward, getting in your face.
“Why have you been ignoring me all night? You mad at me?” Dwayne asked as he pinched your chin and tilted your head up, the only thing visible being the moonlight highlighting his eyes. It was like the moon only glowed to make him more hypnotizing.
“Mad at you for what?” You reply, turning your head away and crossing your arms. “You know what.” He scoffs and clicks his tongue in annoyance, looking away and taking a deep breath before looking at you again. “I’ve been trying to make it up to you, angel.” He says, his voice taking on a gentler tone as he guides your face back towards his for a second time.
You exhale through your nose, biting the inside of your cheek as you thought of a reply. What could you possibly say to him? Question him? Ask why he makes you feel this way? Admit to him that he makes your stomach twirl?
“I’m just not used to hanging out with a punk.” You finally say, jaw ticking as he chuckles and shakes his head in disbelief and something close to amusement. “You think I’m bad? That it?” He murmurs, taking a step closer until your chests are pressed together. “I can’t be that bad, angel…” He leaned down, and you were positive he could feel your heart thumping against your ribs. The feeling was sickening, but his hand wouldn't let you pull away, his eyes staring. Unblinking.
“You aren’t...” You whisper, your body stilling as he gazed into your soul. “Really? You sure are making me feel like I’m bad.” You finally turn your head away with an amused snort, your hands landing on his chest as his hand falls back to his side.
Dwayne smiles down at you, chuckling as something warm comes over you, making you completely forget your previous fears. “See? Bad guys don’t make pretty girls laugh.”
“Sure they don’t,” you reply with a toothy smile, the unease in your stomach fading as he wraps his arms around you and pulls you impossibly closer, noses touching. The fear of him in the back of your mind grows silent as you stare into his eyes. Your lingering suspicions then turned to something quieter, continuing to be dulled down until they never existed in the first place.
Your eyes close as he finally kisses you, mouth opening as air escapes your lungs until your tongue brushes something sharp.
You slowly open your eyes only to pull away with a gasp, eyes wide and frightened as you saw something you never thought was possible. Dwayne’s teeth were impossibly sharp, his entire body trembling as he stared at you with hungry, red, and yellow eyes. His entire face was different, not the same punk but something close to a thing with taut facial muscles and thick skin.
You scramble to get back, hands shaking as you manage the question you thought you’d never have to ask:
“What are you?”
Your words send a genuine jolt through him.
“Angel…” He panted, exhaling shakily, but before he could explain or even calm down, you were backing away from him. “Stay the fuck away from me.” You whimper and nearly trip over your feet as you turn and run away from him, ignoring the curious glances your way as you sprint down the boardwalk.
You were horrified at what you just saw. It was completely inhuman, so freakish you couldn't wrap your head around it. You understood why his eyes were so magnetic; they weren’t human, but getting that answer only ended with hundreds more questions.
You ran into your dad’s shop like your ass was on fire, running straight into him.
“Whoa, whoa! Calm down, what happened?” Your dad asks, gripping your arms and pulling you away from him to look at you. “Are you alright? You look like you’ve seen a ghost!” Your dad exclaimed, his hands cupping your face as you stared up at him with eyes that were beginning to water.
“Sweetheart.. Tell me what happened." He said as he moved your face around, scanning for injuries that weren't there. "Are you hurt? Is there some punk I need to beat up?” You snort at his words and quickly, jerkily shake your head, your hand coming up to wipe at your nose.
“No-no, I’m fine…” You say, sniffling as you slowly push his hands away, stepping past him to go to the back. Your dad watched you go, worried about what could’ve gotten you so worked up, before he finally sighed and shook his head.
You were in complete shock. Your heart was racing, and your chest cavity ached, yet felt shallow at the same time. It was confusing and frightening how his face was burned in the back of your mind. Maybe you just needed to sit. Yeah, that's it.
You locked yourself in the staff bathroom, sitting down with your head in your hands, leather still draped across your shoulders. Your heart was still pounding wildly, but it wasn’t from exertion or adrenaline like you hoped. It was like he put a spell on you, and you could feel yourself forgetting something, but what was it? It wasn’t what you just saw; it was something before that. But what?
