Of course they would all
be upset at her leaving.
It was only to be expected, after all.
A simple sea witch was she, yet with those radiant smiles, those bouts of melodic laughter, that selfless, ever so naive attitude of hers-- had become beloved by all that had come across her. She had been loved, and then she had been lost into the very waves that she had wanted to protect. Her decision had been a heavy one, a mere child being pressured into sacrificing herself for the sake of her beautiful sea, or just to run away, to run away and never come back because she didn't want to bear such a heavy responsibility upon fragile shoulders that had not even begun to mature.
Yet, in the end, she had followed the path that her father had before her, giving herself up in the name of her beautiful sea and using her own power to maintain it to the best of her ability. The people she loved, the lands she had grown up in, the tranquil blue that she had come to adore above all else.
No, she was not truly gone. She had never left in the first place, honestly. She had become the winds that blew ever so gently overhead, the waves that crashed in their unnamed song, the seaweed that danced along to the tune that only few could hear. She was everywhere, but unable to be seen. She sang, but no one could truly hear her voice. A child of the sea had become the sea itself, a pearl of pure iridescence the one and only symbol of her sacrifice. People missed her, just as she missed them, but, in the end, this was for the best, no?
And yet he returns all the same, accusing her and her pear of things that she had not done in the first place.
Why, she had never done that.
Never at all. She was right here, was she night? In the form of that pearl that the shark had come to gaze upon. The witch had always hated seeing him sad, more than anything in the world. Her familiar who had went to hell and back for her, even though she had not been aware of it for so long. He loved her more than anything else, just as she had him. A pang echoes through her heart, but she keeps smiling, perhaps in a childish hope that he would realize that she was there and that there was no need to stress over what had never happened.
❝ But I'm right here,
Samekitchi. ❞
A sudden current takes hold of the shark, almost like a tiny hand taking the ex-familiar's claws, only to move on further into a second-long hug before dissipating into nothing. It was all she could offer, much to her dismay, but hopefully it was enough to show the other that she would never leave him, and that she was always by his side, no matter what.
