En la Ilíada de Homero (750 A.C.), se relata a Ganimedes como uno de los mortales más hermosos del cosmos. Raptado y llevado al Olimpo por Zeus manifestado con la forma de un aguila, derivado del gran enamoramiento hacia él.
Tros, el padre de Ganimedes se ve compensado con finos corceles entregados por Hermes, el mensajero de los dioses. Tros encuentra consuelo de saber la inmortalidad de su hijo que está al servicio de los dioses en la distintiva posición de ser el llenador de copas. Zeus, posteriormente colocó a Ganimedes en el cielo como constelación de acuario (el cargador de agua) el cual es adyacente a la constelación Aquila (El águila). Ganimedes, es el nombre de la luna más grande de Júpiter.

In Homer’s Iliad (750 BC), Ganymede is told as one of the most beautiful mortals in the cosmos. Kidnapped and taken to Olympus by Zeus manifested in the form of an eagle, derived from the great infatuation towards him. Constelación de Sagitario
Según Eratóstenes (276 A.C.) , Sagitario no puede ser un centauro porque éstos no hacen uso del arco al ser muy sofisticada para ellos. Croto tenía rasgos caprinos al ser hijo del sátiro Pan. Su madre, Eufeme era nodriza de las 9 musas: hijas de Zeus. Siendo así su hermano de leche y protector. Ellas, en agradecimiento pidieron colocar en el cielo a Croto, a lo que el Padre de dioses y hombres accedió añadiendo el tiro con arco sugiriendo que Croto fue el inventor del tiro con arco, arma de la que se servía para cazar animales salvajes para su sustento.

Estas nebulosas son nubes de gas hidrógeno extremadamente calientes y por lo general regiones donde se están formando nuevas estrellas. La luz de las estrellas ilumina las nubes circundantes, los fotones ionizantes en grandes porciones de las nubes.

El 15 de agosto de 1977 a las 23:16, el radiotelescopio Big Ear recibió una señal de radio de origen desconocido durante exactamente 72 segundos proveniente de la zona oriental de la constelación de Sagitario y alcanzando una intensidad 30 veces superior al ruido de fondo.El astrónomo Jerry R. Ehman descubrió la anomalía unos días después mientras revisaba los datos registrados. Estaba tan impresionado por el resultado que dio la vuelta en el ordenador imprimiendo la lectura de la intensidad de la señal, "6EQUJ5", y escribió el comentario "¡Wow!" a su lado. The light of the stars illuminates the surrounding clouds, ionizing photons in large portions of the clouds. On 15 August 1977 at 23:16, the Big Ear radio telescope received a radio signal of unknown origin for exactly 72 seconds from the eastern part of the constellation of Sagittarius and reached a intensity 30 times higher than the background noise. Astronomer Jerry R. Ehman discovered the anomaly a few days later while reviewing the recorded data. He was so impressed by the result that he turned around on the computer printing the signal intensity reading, "6EQUJ5", and wrote the comment "Wow!" next to him. Although the Wow! signal had no detectable modulation—a technique used to transmit information over radio waves—it remains, as of 2021, the strongest candidate for an alien radio transmission ever detected.
