❛   ━━━━   WELL… YOU’RE ADORABLE.  ❜  the tiny ape smiles as if it were human, eyes wandering the room with a toddler’s wonder. well fed with plump cheeks, hands reaching to know  &  to learn. he pats the top of his head gently, surprised at how soft the fur had been.

CHAMPION.   winston’s love of overwatch and his selflessness when it comes to heroism stems from his need to prove his own fears wrong. he fights for the fallen, for those abused and those in danger because he, himself, witnessed the death and the fall of the horizon lunar colony. he witnessed how the animalistic rage within his fellow gorillas’ dna  ——  the same dna within himself, could destroy an entire people. this is why, when in battle, winston focuses on the bright side.  he’s a savior, a hero working alongside others who risk their lives for the good of all. winston’s always on the front lines, protecting people and making sure everyone’s comfortable because he knows if he were to succumb to the rage within, it could mean the death of his teammates, of overwatch, and civilians. he wants to prove himself different from his brothers and sisters. he can be a hero and he will protect the legacy.
