I've been reading the series for a bit now (on my second reread while waiting for book five hehe) and I NEED to know.

And to answer your question, it's Brotherhood (or rather mangahood). I'm generally taking more from the manga version of events when I can, so anime-original characters like Isaac McDougal don't exist (rip I actually really like Isaac). There are slight differences between manga and Brotherhood and I'm trying to follow the manga more. I don't always because the anime version is more accessible to me and I remember it more, but I draw on the manga when I can.

Nothing about '03 is canon to the story, and there's just a few cheeky references, nothing more (like the year one Alchemy instructor being named Dante, Harry's situation in the climax of year four paralleling some of Ed's arc in '03, and there will be one more intentional reference at some point down the line).

Hermione Granger and Edward Elric!!

Drew my favourite duo from @apenmadefullmetal 's Death is but the next great adventure.

This took me aaaages to draw thanks to Dad's metal arm, but I think it was worth it. I'm really annoyed that I completely forgot about the red lining on Hermione's robes!! But oh well. And I know Ed doesn't have a metal arm (yet) in the fic, but I thought it would be so cool to have that hiding under Hogwarts robes. Both of the characters are logical and studious, but in the fic Ed's cynical outlook really reigns in Hermione's passion and optimism, and brings to the table the common sense that the Trio never had in canon. Thanks again to apenmadefullmetal for such an amazing series!
