Whenever you feel your opinion of AOT fading, just rewatch it.

After finishing it, the fandom's toxicity can sour the experience over time. Rewatching will remind you of what a masterpiece it really is. From what I've seen, most of the criticism is nitpicking and personal preference which gets amplified by AOT being so mainstream. All in all, AOT is the gold standard, the closest you get to an all-rounded "perfect" anime. Not flawless, but so indescribably beautiful. Pacing, suspense, animation, intricate plot, twists, character arcs, dynamics, sound track, world building, foreshadowing, and of course the message.

Next time the fandom hate starts getting to you, just rewatch it (or a part of it), and remember how impressive it is that this masterpiece... Exists. And was made by a human. Call me simple, but it always blows my mind.

Maria and Yuzuru from A Silent Voice!!

I haven't yet watched the movie of A Silent Voice, but judging from the fandom I can tell Yuzuru and Maria probably never interacted. Even in the manga they barely did; but every one of those rare moments was precious, so I expected that would be sufficient to prompt a few fanworks or at least discussions. Instead, let alone the duo, I've barely even seen Maria get acknowledged. Like how?? She's so adorable?? And so drawable.

So here I present a little drawing of my favourite underrated duo. I love the wholesome chaos of the Ishida family, and I love how Yuzuru basically got adopted into it. It's so heartwarming. Shoya's sister was canonically pregnant at the end of the manga -- I like to imagine Yuzuru hanging out with Shoya and his half-Brazillian niblings(?)(is that what you call nieces and nephews?) and confusing the hell out of everyone they pass by with their unique yet adorable family dynamics.

I hope there are other people out there who also enjoy this duo! I've honestly not met anyone who's read the manga, which is a shame because I absolutely adore it.

Late contestshipping day art...

I only realised yesterday that a contestshipping day existed. (And contestshipping week?? Since when??) Yesterday also happened to be contestshipping day, so this left me very little time to lock in and draw something for the occasion. I intended to draw Drew, but only managed to draw May... Which kinda defeats the whole purpose of the "shipping" part. Oh well.

Contestshipping was my first ship, and currently one of my favs since I've coincidentally been rewatching AG rn, and so I was really happy to see the fandom is still alive and celebrating them yesterday!

I'm very new to online art (this is my second time using it) so I was just figuring it all out and decided this would be fun to experiment with.

Maybe Mikasa wasn't a poorly written character. Maybe she was purposely overshadowed by her obsessive love for Eren to show how she was a slave for him in the same was he was a slave for freedom.

This is why it's so impactful that she killed him and broke free of that slavery in a way Eren couldn't break free from his pursuit for freedom.

No character is perfect, but she is wayyyy too hated for what is clearly a literary choice. The central theme of AOT is freedom -- Kenny himself said that "everyone is a slave to something". I think Mikasa is such an important character as she represents a part of that.

Also, I hate when people say she became useless in season 4. She was just confused and being poisoned by trying to figure out her love when Eren was doing terrible things, in the same way Eren was strangled by his twisted pursuit for freedom when he saw how complicated it was after kissing Historia's hand.

Hermione Granger and Edward Elric!!

Drew my favourite duo from @apenmadefullmetal 's Death is but the next great adventure.

This took me aaaages to draw thanks to Ed's metal arm, but I think it was worth it. I'm really annoyed that I completely forgot about the red lining on Hermione's robes!! But oh well. And I know Ed doesn't have a metal arm (yet) in the fic, but I thought it would be so cool to have that hiding under Hogwarts robes. Both of the characters are logical and studious, but in the fic Ed's cynical outlook really reigns in Hermione's passion and optimism, and brings to the table the common sense that the Trio never had in canon. Thanks again to apenmadefullmetal for such an amazing series!

@apenmadefullmetal Firstly, a forewarning that I'm not very familiar with posting to/for people on tumblr actually works so I have no idea if I'm doing this right. Like what do I put as the title?? Am I meant to talk as if I'm addressing the author or the whole of tumblr?? Am I even posting in the right place? I've just come over from ao3 to throw some art into the void, so here we go

Not what I initially visualised when I said I'd be drawing some fanart on "Death is but the Next Great Adventure"... but I thought I'd share a little sketch I did of Tracey Davis at the Yule Ball!

I've always loved picturing the dress robes from HP and feel like the movies did them dirty. The way you described them this book just really got my imagination rolling! I kinda struggled to visualise Tracey at first because she wasn't in the books, but over the course of her sparse appearances she somehow evolved into a freckled brunette with a pixie cut, and the way she just formed like that in my mind really inspired me to draw her.

Was initially to draw Harry with her, but I got lazy lol.

I also LOVE your own art of Tracey and the others at the Ball! They're so so adorableee. Ling/Greed's outfit is honestly superior - and his smile is so mischevious. This art is just what I imagined from your writing, I don't mean to offend or anything!

i love being in the httyd books fandom because there is a lot of content but 1/2 of it is hidden.
