APH Korea Week, day 7: Smile
I’m sorry I could only finish the last day, but just look at this ball of sunshine! c:
Day seven (August 18)- Smile!
South Korea: North!
North Korea: what the? Oh great, what does he want this time?
South Korea: *goes up to him* North, do you know what today is?
North Korea: if I had a guess, is it annoy North Korea Day?
South Korea: no, not really *gets out a calendar* that would be like next month or the month before, but today is international smile day
North Korea: oh yeah that day. How can I possibly forget?
South Korea: every year we plan on making one of us smile. You always win, but I have a feeling that this year I’m gonna make you smile
North Korea: oh really now? If you’re gonna make me smile, you’re gonna take a picture and put it on a wall
South Korea: no, it’s just that it’s been years that I seen you smile. The last time you smiled was when Japan let us go
North Korea: *sighs*…….okay, what is your plan?
South Korea: I wrote every single thing down on this list *takes out a paper that’s all rolled*
North Korea: *takes it before opening it up to only realize that it’s a pretty long list* wow…..everything on this list is red
South Korea: I know. The reason why it’s in red, is because they’re my favorite things to do
North Korea: okay then, let’s get this over with
[Later]
South Korea: okay the first thing on the list is that I’ll be showing everyone my brother North Korea, while wearing a dragon costume
North Korea: wait, you’re gonna be wearing a dragon costume?
South Korea: *laughs* good one North
[Two Minutes Later]
South Korea: hey kids, check out my big bro. He’s wearing a cool looking dragon costume
North Korea: yo, what’s up youngsters? What’s happening? *gets a rock thrown at him* ow…..
[Later]
South Korea: wow what a day. I get to hang out with you and I get to watch the sunset. It’s just you, me, and this brick wall that you built between us
North Korea: yeah……
South Korea: oh here it comes. Get ready for the countdown. 10…..9….8….7….6…..you take it from here, Norgh
North Korea: oh okay. Uh…..5……4…..3…..2……….1…….*sees the sun go down*
South Korea: that was amazing! Now let’s do it again
North Korea: again? What do you mean by again?
South Korea: *gets out a book* hmm…I already have the next brotherly hang out time set for January or April of next year
North Korea: *snatches the book away from him* FORGET ABOUT THE BOOK!!! I can’t believe you wasted a whole entire day on trying to make me smile especially if it’s a yearly thing. Oh why, just why can’t you try a different emotion for once? It’s not that hard
South Korea: different emotion? Hmm…..I think I got one *clears his throat a bit*……CHINA!!!! YOU’RE GONNA LET ME HOLD YOUR PANDA NO MATTER IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!!!! *laughs* that was fun
North Korea: THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT YOU MORON!!!
South Korea: oooo….nice one North
North Korea: no! I- forget it, I’m going home *turns and starts to walk off*
South Korea: oh North, I think I got something that can cheer you up
North Korea: pfft…..yeah right
South Korea: *gets out a CD player and presses the play button causing Gangnam Style to start playing*
North Korea: *stops* oh god…..oh god no…..not this song *turns a bit to see South Korea doing the dance moves* no, no, no……*suddenly feels his hips moving to the tune* no…..I must resist……I must not dance to this…..
[Despite trying his best on not to dance, he couldn’t help but to give in to it]
South Korea: hey you’re dancing
North Korea: oh no I’m not
South Korea: oh never say never, you’re clearly dancing and hey, is that a smile on your face?
North Korea: *covers his face* no, I’m not
South Korea: oh yes you are. I can see it
North Korea: oh god…..I feel like I’m Germany. How can he stand Italy like this?
South Korea: that’s simple, he got use to it
Day 6 of Korea week, “Music” I tried to draw Kpop and now I love Nyo!Korea with shortish hair,, bless
Day 4 - Patriotism
Happy (late) Birthday!
Also I hate art block and how it strikes at the worst times possible
8/15
Day 5 of Korea week, “Food” Get you a man who looks at you the way Korea looks at noodles
Day four (August 15)- Patriotism/ Festival
North Korea: *standing at a balcony while looking at his own people celebrating* ah…..August 15, this the day when Korea is no longer under Japan’s rule. Thank god….I can’t stand him not at all"
South Korea: North!
North Korea: *snaps out of it* huh….? *turns and sees South Korea* South- I mean Yong Soo, what are you doing here
South Korea: I just came here to say happy liberation day!
North Korea: *raises a brow* ?
South Korea: you know the day when we both got freed by Japan. It’s today
North Korea: oh yeah….that day *turns back around to watch everyone celebrating*
South Korea: what’s the matter North? You’re usually happy for today
North Korea: that’s because I’m having these thoughts in my head. I usually get them every year on this day
South Korea: oh….what are those thoughts exactly?
North Korea: *turns a bit to look at him* do you really want to know?
South Korea: yes, yes I do
North Korea: hmm….I was thinking of….shooting fireworks right in Japan’s face, that’s what
South Korea: uhh…..okay…..you do realize that America does that to England, right?
North Korea: yeah I do, but it’s only funner when it happens to Japan. LIGHT UP THOSE FIREWORKS!!!
Random person: b…b..but North Korea, when you say fireworks you mean all of them?
North Korea: yes….ALL OF THEM!!!
Random person: okay, you’re the boss *mutters* my god, he does this every year. I have to admit that he sure has a patriotic side along with a childish side *lights the fireworks*
The nighttime sky is filled with fireworks in the colors of North Korea’s flag before South Korea’s flag colors were seen
North Korea: hey, why is your flag colors seen next to mine?
South Korea: well….even though we’re no longer a full country, we’re still brothers *smiles*
North Korea: yeah…*smiles back*…that’s true
[Meanwhile]
Japan: *sighs* okay, okay, that’s enough of showing your patriotic side. Seriously, it’s like 2 o’ clock in the morning and you’re still firing off fireworks. You do realize that I’m literally that close to you, right?
China: you’re not the only who’s talking. North Korea is my neighboring country and he’s been doing this nonstop. It’s starting to get annoying!
Japan: he’s treating me like England and it’s not even funny
Kimchiburger: Yong Soo’s POV. My contribution to #APHKoreaWeek!
I had always only dreamed of how vast the world really was. When you came into my life, you took control. I was vulnerable. I was yours before I even knew what was happening. I saw my life flash before my eyes on that battlefield many of times. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced before, but it was so much less grim when my dark, weary eyes laid sight on those beautifully sinister blues of yours. I had a hero. A man who taught me that I had a hero within myself, but whom was always there to catch me whenever I fell. My transition in handing over half of my soul to another was excruciating and even though you were the cause, you were also my caregiver. My saviour. The exotic western leader that held me close and showed me everything that the universe had to offer. You lifted me up. My roots torn out of the ground of which I stood in a comfortable familiarity for so long. You never gave me a choice- and my life wasn’t mine. It was yours. I despised you. I feared you. I looked up to you- and I learned to love you. Your word was my command. Your approval was my light. Your twisted smirk and strong embrace was my heaven away from everything I had ever known. You professed your love to me. A sworn word that you would always protect me. I learned so much of what I know today from a man I was conditioned into believing was the beginning and end all of the best and worst that was to come of my life. A word broken. Words continuing to fall from your lips like they meant nothing to you. Like my heart, and the soul you swore to care for was a toy for you and you only to play with as you wished. A devil in disguise- and a hero many had tried their hardest to slander as a villain. I’ve been yours since then and I’ll be yours forever. You are the man who swooped me off my feet and made my life the most terrifying, exhilarating and fulfilling thing I could have ever wished for. My gratitude, my distaste- both have no end for you and everything you have done. Everything we have experienced side by side. My love. My hate. My hero, my dear America.

Day 3 of Korea Week, prompt “Seasons”
Fall season can be a bit windy and chilly :P
My Contribution for @aphkoreaweek
Prompt: 4 Seasons with Nekorea :3 Enjoying each of the Seasons
Day one (August 12)- Family
“When the word family comes to mind, to me I have a lot to think about. I know that I have a somewhat shaky relationship with my brother, but he’s family. We usually plan out where we can meet up and when I mean ‘we’ I mean South Korea.
I sometimes get to pick where we go, but South Korea always got to some me something new in his country. Look, I have nothing against whatever’s in my brother’s country, besides I like how enthusiastic he is at times. However, whenever I have something new I try to convince him. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Anyway moving on, we usually go to one place and just hang out together. We go to restaurants or we settle at his place. We also play sports together either one-on-one or two-on-two, but usually we get very competitive during one-on-one matches; I like a good challenge from him.”
Day three (August 14)- Seasons
“If I were to choose between a scorching hot summer or a ice cold winter, I would choose summer. Why? Because I love the summer. Sure South Korea does literature me on why winter is important and why I should care about. Yes, maybe I should loosen up a bit on the cold especially if I’m going to…….uhh……visit Russia…..oh geez and…..true that we used to play in the snow when we were younger.
I don’t hate winter, besides I don’t mind it at all. It’s just the fact that winter can be a it too much at times with consist pressure of staying alive and pray to god that I won’t slip and fall on ice. That’s enough of the bad parts of winter, they are some good things, but I’m only here to talk about summer. You can ask about winter in a different time.
Summer is my season, sure it may be hot, but it’s enjoyable. I go swimming, play sports, run the marathon, you know the active things. I usually like to relax in my home and enjoy eating ice cream.
South Korea visits and we talk about our day and how things are going. South Korea likes to make up the joke that if we’re going to be stuck with each other, he would prefer a colder climate like somewhere in Antarctica while I say that we should be in either Hawaii or Jamaica. He sometimes like to joke about who’s going to kill a spider and he would often say that it should be me.
One time, when we were asked on what planet we should live on, South Korea said that he’ll live on Pluto while I said that I’ll live on either Mercury or Venus because on how different we are on weather and climate.”
APH Korea Week: Family
Yong Soo thought he knew fear, but, as Naminara struggled for his every breath, he found that his past terrors were nothing compared to the dread that filled him now. Somewhere, in the far corners of his mind, he noted that his phone has been ringing for the past hour, but he refused to let go of his son’s hand; afraid that when he came back, he’d find Ji-min had stopped breathing.
It isn’t until he hears his door unlocking does he notice the time. 1:03 a.m. flashed back at him from Ji-min’s alarm clock and he doesn’t have time to prepare for the sudden flood of light. Biting back a curse, he looks, through bleary eyes, to see China staring with disapproval at him while Taiwan and Hong Kong poked their heads out from behind his back.
“Hyung-nim?” He asked; voice raspy from the lack of water and Yao clucked loud enough to make him jump.
“Aiyah!” He snapped; marching into the room with authority and purpose, but the hand that lands on his cheek is gentle and kind. “You had us so worried, not answering your phone, why didn’t you tell us Naminara was sick!? We’re family, you fool, we could’ve helped! Taiwan, go get us some fresh towels, Hong Kong, warm up at that soup.”
“Thank you,” he muttered when Yao took a seat beside him. He just hummed, reaching up to drag his head down onto his shoulder as Taiwan crept in with an armful of towels and a basin of water. Hong Kong was balancing a tray that looked threaten to tip at any moment, the dark glare from his sister told him she noticed her imminent danger, and he bit back a laugh. That was a familiar sight.
“We used to do this whenever one of you got sick.” China told him. “Remember when you dumped tea on Macau?”
“Was an accident.” He pouted as Hong Kong snorted. “He sneezed, and it was gross. I got sick after too, remember?” Another snort from his little brother.
“How can we forget?” He asked while handing over his tray. “You refused to talk to Macau for weeks, he was so upset.”
“Well he deserved it.” Nodding in approval at the gukpap, he made to wake up Ji-min when Taiwan caught hold of his arm.
“No way, you look seconds from passing out. Get some sleep, Hong Kong and I got this covered.”
“But-”
“Hey, I have a date after this so-”
“Nope, not listening. Nuh-uh. Leon, call Iceland, tell him you’re having a family emergency. Bastard, put him to bed.” It said something about his physical state if, after a huffy ‘respect your elders, girl’, China stood up, wrapping a slim arm around his waist as he shuffled him off to bed.
As soon as his back met the softness that was his mattress, he sighed; lids going heavy. Yao slipped under the covers with him, letting him bury his face into the crook of his neck as he curled his larger frame around him.
“In the morning,” he whispered as Yong Soo struggled to stay awake long enough to listen. “I’ll make those kimchi pork buns you like so much and when Ji-min wakes up, we’ll watch that awful drama of yours. The one about the time traveling actress.”
“Ondal was nowhere near that attractive.” He slurred as gentle fingers smoothed down his hair. “If he was, I would’ve kept him around the palace; for moral, you understand?”
“Of course,” was China’s amused answer, “now rest. Taiwan will end me if she finds out I kept you awake longer than necessary.”
And, to save his brother from a painful death at the hands of their sister, Yong Soo slipped deep into the realms of sleep; unaware of the fond smile on China’s face.
In the morning, they’d get woken up by a fussy micronation and two exhausted teens, but that was then and for now Yao savored the feel of his brother in his arms.
