one of the many reasons why lots of LGBT folks are uncomfortable with cishet aces in LGBT spaces is that simply by virtue of being cishet a lot of cishet aces often express homophobic and transphobic sentiments - and no matter the intention, it’s absolutely never ok to be homophobic and/or transphobic. if you break someones arm by accident it still hurts the same as well.
they often do so purely out of ignorance, since cishets and LGBT folks dont share the huge range of different experiences that shape LGBT folks’ lives and that make you immediately aware of whats homophobia and transphobia and whats not (this obvs also ties in with cishet privilege held by cishets) and LGBT ppl dont want to wade through those sentiments and statements every time we come to our spaces.
this is a manifestation of cishet privilege and you really just cannot expect LGBT people to risk being forced to listen to these ideas and opinions in the few spaces we have built to protect ourselves from homophobia and transphobia.

to most if not all LGBT folks its immediately obvious why asking someone who disagrees with you and who’s also LGBT to shove a spiky object up their ass isnt really all that funny.
most if not all LGBT folks agree that theres no slur against cishets, since slurs come with the weight of societal oppression behind them.
most if not all LGBT folks agree that asking showrunners/authors to turn a fictional LGBT character straight isnt ok.
LGBT FOLKS ALSO DONT TEND TO COMPARE TRANS FOLKS TO TERFS
most if not all LGBT folks would never make demeaning jokes about contracting HIV outside your immediate friendship circle, much less on a semi-public platform, if they feel comfortable joking about STIs at all, which is relatively rare anyway.
all LGBT folks would never say theyre disgusted by seeing two ppl of the same gender kiss [just listen to how LGBT aces describe how they feel towards PDA its really not difficult to NOT say that 2 girls kissing is gross]
all LGBT folks understand 10000% why you dont want to be visibly LGBT at all times irl, but also understand the violence of being in the closet.
while were at it most if not all LGBT folks also dont say the chance of being killed is good “because at least it means visibility”.
conversely, most if not all LGBT folks understand why it’s not quite ok for someone who isnt attracted to the same gender or trans to vent about how it really pisses them off that they sometimes get mistaken for being LGBT as if being LGBT was a bad thing.

most if not all LGBT folks are aware that “corrective r*pe” isnt something that should be thrown around lightly as it’s something many of us are directly threatened by and many of us have experienced it - similar to drug addiction or homelessness.
and all LGBT folks would never fucking threaten to bring a gun to Pride.
