PLOT DROP 001 : THE FACTIONS .
this isn’t a democracy anymore .
PART ONE
one hundred kilometre winds blew through the dense , wooded areas in kansas , striking the small population of towns in and surrounding west ham . torrential downpours obscure your vision of barely ten feet in every direction . lightning flashes through the sky in staccato , matched with the cacophonous thunder and pellets of rain on the steel roof that shields your head . the world around you erupts into a frenzied war zone , the wrath of zeus on mortal man , yet you rest peacefully against leather seats . the humidity mixed with the warm , pressured air adheres to your skin , making for an unpleasant shift in your deep sleep . droplets of cold rain slip through the window cracks and are blown against your skin , you crinkle your nose and brush it away with the sleeve of your garments , eyelids never parting . it’s a peculiar sight ; not a single soul wakes to the stimulants of the outside world ——— like a hypnotists induced sleep , only free when you count down from three . and so , nothing raises the beat of your heart more than the profound shout of the driver at the front of the bus , capturing your gazes “ EVERYBODY UP ! STORM BLOCKED THE ROAD , WE’RE BACK HOME . ” the voice of the man is followed by the groans and questions of confusion by the other trip members . your shoes splash in a shallow puddle as you step off the bus , the cool air sending a chill down your spine . there’s an eery stillness to the town , everything was just as you left it . there was not a single sound to fill the air , aside for the now gentle breeze that rustles the leafs of the trees that sparsely occupy town square . the bus doors close and roll away before your mind can process the setting , but what were you supposed to expect from this ? the confusion only returns when each of you take in the dark area slowly . where were your families ?
the crowd of you stand in silence on the square , most still rubbing the sleep from their eyes after a boisterous trip the afternoon before . the person next to you fiddles with their phone , mumbling expletives while trepidation settles on their face . your eyes scan the others in the large crowd and notice they all attempt the same , so you conform to the silent panic . first you call your family but the line rings and rings and rings , as if the other end was to far out of reach ——— it ceased to exist . were the towers down ? someone speaks up soon after with hopeful comments about an evacuation as a result of the storm . others say it was all just a misunderstanding and everyone should return home . you break off and rush to your homes on foot . . . only , the homes are vacant , not a single object moved . it was like , everyone had just vanished into thin air ? but that couldn’t be possible , right ?
PART TWO
a week has passed now and life has changed in ways you never thought possible . you should be in class or working your job , but instead you and the rest of the event team are trapped in a town with no escape . no parents , no kids , no rules or authority ; the week has passed in grief , fear , and celebration . you partied every night , looted the stores , and trashed places with no repercussions . the one rule was that there were no rules , but not everyone saw eye to eye . in fact , many people have begun banding together to begin setting up a system with the understanding that nobody is coming back to save you . a meeting was organized by the west ham university’s newly elected students general association president and team . power , food , and water must be conserved . you had to establish a system of work to ensure everyone would survive —— A NEW SOCIETY . not everyone could come to the same agreement though . the system lasted a few days before groups began breaking off to follow someone else who had different methods of rule in their minds . there was a clear divide in class , groups of people wanted to keep what they had and do whatever they wanted . factions were created , everyone went their separate ways and claimed territories . it was a quick change and one that would lead you directly into conflict one day . until than , welcome to the new west ham —— where do you belong ?
FACTION ONE : led by the west ham university sga president and vice president . they believe in the correct methods of law and order , a place of equity in all areas of a society . they believe in democracy and coming together to ensure a safe future for everyone during these dark and confusing times .
FACTION TWO : born from disagreement with faction one , the leader of this faction and their co - leader rose up . this group is filled with people who want to keep what they have , and lead the entire population their own way . bellamy vc : whatever the hell we want !
FACTION THREE : those from the university’s greek life that attended the trip . this group had formed prior to the meeting , after the president of the fraternity and sorority and their members came together to organize a system . they believe in sticking together and riding this out , all the while giving minimal help to other groups .
NOMADS : not finding a place in either of these groups , this less organized group was created . these residents are all on their own , though at times find it inevitable to team up . they have claimed small shops or houses for themselves , living alone and away from all the chaos .
PART THREE
one more week has gone by , three total spent in this town completely cut off from the rest of the world . you find yourself apart of one of these factions , living with and against your peers . rivalries are starting , territorial wars , a fight for the most things . factions are not completely closed off but tensions are high . do with this what you will .
