“We always kinda… gravitate towards hanging out in such a lazy way…”
It wasnt often that they hung out at one another’s home. More times than not it was Tachibana coming over to Mishima’s place than the other way around. It was understandable, of course, but it was still kinda cool when it happened. The sound of whatever game Tachibana was playing was easy enough to hear from where Mishima sat. Partially slouched, the two sat back to back and… it was comfortable. Even if there wasn’t a lot of chatting going on, even if Mishima’s manga reading was easily distracted by cut scene dialogue that stole his attention…
It was comfortable just being in the same room.
Idly, Mishima turns the page in the manga. He’d sorta stopped keeping track of the details since the last chapter, really. It would be necessary for him to re-read it later, not that something like that was a problem. “Finally beat that boss?”
he’s glad that they could be like this. comfortable. instead of sharing words in a locker room that served as the gates to hell, they were just ... existing. and that was enough for keiji who, for once, didn’t care to wax poetic or attribute purple prose where there was no need for it. sometimes there was beauty in the simplicity of these moments --- and that was flowery in its own way. so the smile that had been chased away by his focus on the game before him returned full force. he’d only hummed in response to mishima’s initial statement, too caught up in the screen before him to do much else. though once he set down the controller and heard his friend’s question, he gave his full attention.
“ duh ! of course i did. i am the greatest human being of all time, clearly. ” in his voice was his typical lightness that, this time, rang with little nuance, as if what was on the outside truly mirrored what was on the inside. “ and yeah, man. there’s no other way to be, i say. it’s comfortable. y’don’t always need to be active to have a good time. ”
