(UPDATED.) Currently going through Jared Leto's list of former girlfriends in the last ten years. And it's terrifying.
You know when you’re reading something and you have that feeling you already know the plot?
Iconic. ↓

And yet:
Welp.
Just to throw something else in the mix, many people believe that he had a relationship with Matt Wachter, former 30 Seconds to Mars member (yikes), and/or a long-time but conflicted one with Colin Farrell, whom he knows since the 90s. He also was his co-star in Alexander (2004), where Jared played Colin’s (Alexander) love interest of a lifetime, Hephaestion.
(Their ship name is Farelleto, btw.)

Sorry - this is a manip. ↓ Scratch this.
This is not: ↓
And then, in 2011:
And then, 2013:
She was a farrelleto shipper, and Colin Farrell is Irish.
Did I mention that the camera inexplicably turned to Farrell when Jared Leto won Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Globes this year? Did I? *maniac laughter*
A comment from a film critic:
Okay. A bunch of other stuff.
Jared admitted to drag in his spare time - he said he did it in NYC.
He also said to be “gay as a goose” once, although it was seen as a joke despite the fact that he never confirmed it as that.
He was once spotted with a box of women bondage/S&M/leather underwear, and then wore said underwear on stage. (Which doesn’t prove anything on its own, but add this to the fact that Jared does gender-bend a bit - nail polish, ‘manskirts’, ‘girly’ bracelets) and everything else and, you know.)
Plus this:
Fans speculate they went on and off since, at least, 2003, and that Jared wrote many songs about him and Colin. One of them is A Modern Myth.
Back to 2014, the shade at the Independent Spirit Awards, where Jared gave the longest speech ever.
”[…] This is a special one - I wanna thank all the women I’ve been with, and all the women who think they’ve been with me.”
Jared is a LGBTQ activist.
Here’s his acceptance speech at the Oscars. Here’s the one for The Golden Globes. As he says, “I’d never expected this love and this support,” the camera man turns to Colin.
It’s also a rumor that he and Colin had a holiday in Thailand in 2003, but only Colin was papped.
However, 6 April of 2014, while he was in Thailand, Jared posted a selfie with the caption, “Thailand-#ThinkingAboutYou.” He wasn’t officially involved in any relationship at that time.
“I lived there for a couple of months when I was—a few years ago.” Apparently, something Jared on living in Thailand.
Farrell once said to magazine Elle: “Okay, then. What’s the smallest, most intimate gesture? I once spent a night with somebody in a ruin of a building in a very faraway land. There was no heat. It was dilapidated—about as unromantic as you could imagine. But we lit a fire and had sleeping bags and wine and a shitty old portable DVD player. The battery died halfway through It’s a Wonderful Life. That didn’t really matter. It wasn’t about getting to the end.”
Alexander, the movie where he and Jared played two lovers, was filmed in Marocco.
Despite playing two lovers, no love scene, not even a kiss, was filmed between them in Alexander—but there is one scene where Alexander/Colin lays with a secondary character. Jared and Colin starred together in another movie, but the scene never made it into the final cut.
May or may not be relevant, and may as well be reaching too hard, but Jared recently (2013-2014) “joked” more than once that he had children, both in interviews and on Twitter - where he sounded dead serious.
(Echelon, not eshelon, is the name of the fans.)
He doesn’t have children. Officially, at least. Colin, however, has two children from two women he had “flirts” with - from a model and from his co-star in Ondine, who got pregnant around the time the movie was being filmed.
Despite being “friends,” he and Colin have never, ever been photographed together in the last… ten years? Despite rumours of them being in the same place at the same time.
