In The Devil Wears Prada, Andy is torn between Miranda Priestly and Miranda’s all-consuming world, and Andy’s friends/boyfriend, the social/romantic world she has come to know, worlds which seem mutually exclusive.  I found Andy’s friends to be unpersuasive, sad, and unsympathetic, and was rooting for Miranda all along.
