Found a Buddhist monk on TikTok who rates sad indie music

Interrupting the usual broadcast for those of you who like nice background music that isn't too invasive, I've been listening to Dianna Lopez for a good long while now. She's a 28 year old black / afro-indigenous music artist that plays soft guitar and often soft non-focus heavy vocals

There's been a flood of AI generated lofi and background music-type videos on youtube, so I thought it only fair to bring attention to a human music artist who's work has been a staple of my mornings

All of it! But especially music!

The thing is, people appreciate Black culture openly all the time, they just refuse to recognize it as Black. "Gen Z Slang"- AAVE. Black. 2015 to present KPop- Black American music culture. From the dance routines down to the instrumentals. Hell there was even an afrobeats wave!

Popular music in general has been heavily impacted by Blackness. They'll complain about Black people in country, but I can hear a snare drum and bass in your instrumental. You love music from Latin America and I literally hear the presence of West Africa and of workers songs. That Paramore song everyone loves, gospel! Some of your favorite white musicians studied Black ones! Lofi- thank both J Dilla and Nujabes! All that Persona music- JAZZ!

I wish people weren't so disgusted by the idea that Black people were involved with their favorite things, that they had to fight against it. "Why are you always bringing up Black people" why are you mad that Black people had something to do with this thing you claim to love? Why does that not inspire a great respect in you? You ought to be grateful, or put my stuff down!
