im very. VERY into avenue q right now but im also into the muppets (puppets in general), gravity falls, patb and a lot of other things i don’t feel like listing LMAO

Hello everybody!

As you guys know, I tend to keep to myself when we’re working on Welcome Home and only come out of my hermit’s burrow to give us all an update! This is that! 

Unfortunately for May, the workload has been more than anticipated, so I didn’t have time to properly produce a Minute with Wally like I hoped I could…! I hope this will suffice instead! (We also hope to do one next month if things improve!)

The next Merchandise drop is in the works too and it’s so so so sweet! It very much matches a very particular fellow! I’m also happy to write that most everything is available in our merch store found on the website! Each purchase goes to helping us keep building our happy home and promise future updates so the story can reach its end!

(Artwork by @downydig !) As for this upcoming update, I really want to keep everything a surprise, but I will say we have so much tucked away that we’re eager to share when the time comes! (I love hearing and seeing the reactions we get, it makes everything worthwhile!)  It’s funny to say, but much of this year’s workload has been spent on both Eddie’s update and every single update moving forward! (We intend to update twice a year until it's done, if things keep going well enough, for example!)

Also to know… We intend on dropping in the summertime within the next couple of months! Once I feel confident, we’ll offer a proper date! (I have to break our Updately tradition of me being late! I must break the curse of Home) All else I can say about it is…! Yeehaw! 🎤🐴

hiii i just started getting into avenue q!!!! are there any things that a new fan should know (like fun facts about cast or characters)??? i love ur posts btw❤️❤️❤️

OHH YAY NEW AVENUE Q FANNN OKAY i have a few fun facts about the cast and characters..

before avenue q, many of the puppeteers (john tartaglia, stephanie d’abruzzo, rick lyon, jennifer barnhart etc etc) had all worked on sesame street beforehand and they all knew each other!!

if im remember correctly… im pretty sure everyone besides jennifer barnhart didn’t have to audition for their roles.

rick lyon (who plays nicky, trekkie, and the blue bad idea bear) designed and built all of the puppets!

AS FOR CHARACTERS!!! rod’s name was originally paul, named after one of jeff marx’s friends, but they changed it to rod after his friend got upset about how they portrayed him 😭😭 i think they also changed the name to rod because it was also an innuendo and they thought it was funny (i think??? i got it from the ave q book idk LMAO)

trekkie monster looked VERY similar to cookie monster, but changed it due to fear of being copyrighted im pretty sure..

“if you were gay” was the first song ever written for avenue q!

there were also a few cut songs from the show, such as “tear it up and throw it away” , “we need a label” and “time” !!

ppl liking my old ave q posts reminded me of princerod and i still think they'd have an interesting kind of angsty dynamic esp. between act 1 and act 2. like idk the whole concept of like. they're only with each other to replace what they lost and want back. they can give each other what they want but it's nottruly satisfactory because it's not what they want but who they want it from but it'll do for now because everything sucks for you and everything sucks for me rn etc etc
