At the start, it was never Tim's intention to create a monstrosity offensive to furniture stores everywhere, it was just being sensible. A rouge goo monster that later turned out to be a failed clone of clay face tried a myriad of attack strategies as it made it's way though every common room in Mount Justice destroying everything in its path. Disposing of the debris took hours, especially due to the lack of help a moping Bart was as he sadly dug through the ruins of the kitchen, and by the time everything had been sorted and bagged, everyone agreed to deal with dropping off the recyclables another day.
The next week as he's finishing up the last of his history report in the school library is of course the opportune time for some d-list kidnappers to chase their target inbetween the shelves, forcing tim to get a bit creative with his choice of weapon, namely, chucking the library mouse at the head of the closest idiot to get their attention. In the ensuing fight three keyboards are broken, and he talks his way out of being perminantly banned from using school computers by replacing the broken equipment. At that point, he figures he might as well consolidate the trash and brings it back to Mount Justice to sit with the other broken keyboards, mice, and office equipment, where he promptly forgets about it in a rush to add in his pizza order when Kon tries to order without him.
When his parent send him his yearly school supplie allowance, he figures he might as well spend it on something a bit nicer for his desktop set up since he doesn't need the extra funds for his photography equipment anymore. What his parents don't know about his new gaming setup won't hurt them, and besides, what better incentive to get his homework done than the chance to sneak a short window of time in to play mmos and beat kon's butt in them? His old keyboard was still in good enough condition to use of course, so for now he just put it to the side incase he needed it later. If tim had learned anything from his time so far as robin, it was that duplicates of electronics were *always* a good idea.
"Wait, can I really have this?" Tim said.
"Sure," says Barbara Gordon, not only *the* Batgirl, but *Oracle*, "I don't need it anymore since I upgraded to something more ergonomic for late nights."
Tim smiles to himself, he's not sure yet what he needs three more keyboards for, but his robin senses are tingling (or it might just be his natural technophilia) and he can't pass up the opurtunity.
Tim is helping clean Mount Justice to appease Cassie in her efforts to spring clean, and is about to call Bart over to help him lug the unearthed bags of electronic waste when suddenly the image of utmost stupidity pops into his brain, and he knows what he must do.
"What. the fuck. are you sitting in?"
"Jealous?" Tim swivels to face kon.
"No- why would you- where did you-"
"Aquire such awesome taste in hardware?"
"Only because you're jealous."
Kon pinches the bridge of his nose, and the universe shudders with the dissonance of their shared braincell completing a full lap in Kon's brain before leaving the room entirely.
