We all recognize the iconic Holiday Inn sign, circa 1952 — but did you know that this motel chain inspired dozens of midcentury signs throughout the country? Pictured are Holiday Inn style signs, all modeled after the “Nation’s Innkeeper.”
The original Holiday Inn sign was retired in the 1980’s and only four are known to still be in existence. Ironically, almost all of the clone signs stand and the motels they advertise for are still in operation.
