APRIL specialises in satellite data processing and analytics APRIL works with diverse datasets to deliver actionable intelligence to strategic users and has developed proprietary software in accordance with DIPAC guidelines. Additionally, APRIL offers timely intelligence reports over specified Areas of Interest (AoI). Our first satellite, "AFR," on June 13th, 2023. AFR is a wide-swath medium-resolution remote sensing satellite with various use cases for civilian and defence purposes.

We’re focusing on the devastating wildfire that started on January 7th in Los Angeles. The image, taken on January 11th by the AFR satellite, shows just how much damage the fire caused. This tragedy claimed several lives, destroyed thousands of homes, and left many families without a place to live. The attached GIF shows two views of the wildfire: one in false color and the other in natural color. The false-color image makes it easier to see key details like burned areas, active fire zones, and untouched vegetation. The natural-color image gives a more realistic view of the fire’s impact on the region. AFR imagery is incredibly useful for understanding the aftermath of disasters like this. We are showcasing the cloud images across the Globe from AFR Satellite. Though we try to avoid imaging clouds, since AFR is an optical imaging satellite, we sometimes get clouds in images. At any moment, about 60 percent of the earth is covered by clouds, which have a huge influence on the climate. This AFR collage showcases fascinating cloud formations from various parts of the world, with probable identifications based on their patterns: • Gulf of Aden (Top-Left): These clouds are likely Altocumulus, Mid-level, patchy clouds with wave-like appearance. •  Doklam, Sikkim, India (Top-Right): Likely Nimbostratus clouds, known for their thick, rain-bearing nature over mountainous regions. •  Asuncion, Paraguay, South America (Bottom- Left): The cloud patterns here suggest Cirrus, Thin and wispy clouds at high altitudes, often signalling a change in weather. • Kolkata, India (Bottom-Right): These clouds appear to be Cumulus, Puffy and white clouds with flat bases, typically forming on clear, sunny days due to surface heating.
