To be honest, Iâm not sure how they ended up here. Â From what I read, they are usually found in valleys and forests, away from cities and people. So it appears Saltus is not the culprit in the story this time.
Now thatâs kinda random, I doubt theyâve decided to migrate on their own. Maybe some slipped through a portal or something? Anyway, at least they got rid of âem. Thereâs nothing worse than a plague; trust me, I know.
[QUINN]: I'll never understand how you can consistently sleep without a bed. Why would you ever leave NYADA, if it meant not knowing whether or not you'd have somewhere to sleep at night?
[QUINN]: I enjoy my memory foam mattress topper far too much.
[QUINN]: I guess it's just you and me.
[QUINN]: It truly is good to have you back, Puck. Every time you leave, I wonder if you'll find your way back here again.
[QUINN]: Have you ever been to Bluestone Lane? It's not far off campus.
[PUCK]: Idk u kinda get used 2 it i guess? Perks of the job
[PUCK]: I mean i do have somewhere 2 sleep its just not a mattress its usually just a sleepin bag or the back of my truck
[PUCK]: Guess puckermans dont consider beds a priority haha
[PUCK]: Hey it cld be worse
[PUCK]: U flatter me ms. Fabray. I never thought u of all ppl would b worried bout me
[PUCK]: But it means a lot that you do
[UNSENT]: If it wasnt 4 u i might not have|
[UNSENT]: Ill always find my way back 2 u|
[PUCK]: I dont think i ever been there but im not opposed to going
[PUCK]: Are we goin on another tour? I miss ur tours
Scurrigi infestation. Â The entire campus was covered in them. Â At one point, you couldnât even see Aequitas because there were so many surrounding it. Â Luckily itâs all clear now but it was rough for a few days.
That sounds equally awful and hilarious. Kinda sad I missed it, to be honest. Where did they even come from? Was it the Saltus Forest again? Maybe they need some new barriers around it or a serious disinfestation.Â
Okay, Iâm not neglecting all the studying because seems like everyone has their heads in the text books for summer and knowldge is power for sure. And if there is no other choice but to study then I guess I can unserstand that.
Iâve been fine.Iâm just enjoying the summer with friends that I actually talk too. Freshman year has beenâŠan experience to say the least. Well, summer is getting a lot better now Iâm focusing on having a good time, which I know will happen now that you are back around! But what about you
Dude, you just finished a full semester of studying, I think itâs time to neglect it for a couple days! As for me, I kinda did the opposite, so now Iâm suffering the consequences of my choices. Not that I regret âem, though. I just like complaining a lot.
Enjoying with friends is probably the best and only thing you should focus on this summer, isnât that what summer break is for? Hey, you know Iâm all up for that good fun, you in the mood for another night out?
Iâve been good, just driving a lot and working, saving up -turns out money runs out real fast when youâre not working and have too many expenses. Regular Guild stuff, nothing really exciting or new...
Anything can be an adventure, if you think of it as such. Theyâre still tales, arenât they? The most excitement weâve had here was the Scurrigi infestation, whichâŠIâm not complaining, weâve had enough excitement to last us a lifetime.
What about the PuckMeister? The lion king Puckfasa... really? Nothing? I was actually kinda proud of my great assortment of nicknames...
Well, sure, but then, doesnât that make any real adventure become average? Everyoneâs got stories, but I doubt youâd be interested in mine... they do tend to get real bloody real fast. Scurrigi? Is that what that Sam kid was talking about? Iâve never heard of them, but they seem to have invaded rooms? Thankfully, they havenât seem to be able to slip into mine, or at least they didnât get through my stuff. Yeah, NYADA has that way of âentertainingâ their students, apparently...
Welcome back to NYADA, Puck. You honestly havenât missed much, not anything worth mentioning. Iâm sure your adventures over the last few months are much more exciting than anything I could tell you.
Is Puckzilla more of your liking? âCause I can change it...
Thanks, Ms. Fabray, itâs nice to be back, specially with such a warm welcome. I donât know if the tales of me driving around the country getting my hands dirty can be called adventures, but theyâre somethinâ.
Dude I have no idea on a lot of things youâre talkinâ bout. But congrats for not being dead! Being dead would suck.
Puckster reminds of that old English guyâs play! I think itâs called Mid Summer Dayâs Dream!
Well, itâd be kinda difficult to type without being alive, so we can agree on that.Â
Ah, yeah, the one with the drugs and shit, right? Shake Spear or something? Yeah, I get that a lot. Should probably read the book to know what people are actually talkinâ âbout, but ainât nobody got time for that. Youâre one of the CCB guys, ainât you?
SoâŠanyone have any ideas on how to contain these things?  I mean, they are cute and all but Iâve had to keep them away from Mikeâs room since heâs not here right now and I donât want to mess with his things and I canât do anything without them multiplying without warning.
I donât know how to get rid of them, and by get rid of I mean get them out of my dorm, without letting them wreak even more havoc than they already are. Â Help?
So you know what honestly just occurred to me? It is Summer! Like actually summer where you shouldnât be tied down by studying all the time. A summer where you should be enjoying it with friends, which bless the aether for the people that I do have in my life. I donât want to neglect the best things that I have. This summer I want to have some fun, we are in New York, there is a list of Common things are endless. Needless to say, a lot of fun to happen around campus. Letâs keep busy this summer! So, what are everyoneâs plans? How is everyone doing?Â
Should is the key word here, lilâ miss T, now itâs all up to you now -some of us, however, had been neglecting studying and have no other choice but to sit down and get it done now... Anyway, whatâs up with you? Iâve missed your face. Hope youâve had a good end to your freshman year and you enjoy your summer, âcause you deserve it ;) :)
Yo dudes, dunno about you but the signal here in the woods sucks⊠who woulda thought?
I thought magic internet would be better than regular old internet with sparkles and stuff⊠looks like itâs time to drink beer and go look at trees and animals until I get bored of that. At least the cabins are cool and thereâs marshmallows at the end!
Dude... itâs the freakinâ woods...
âMagic internet"? Cute. Aethernet doesnât differ much from Commonâs internet, in my opinion, itâs just the flow of information what changes -Commonâs canât do drama like witches do. Beers, trees and marshmallows sounds like a pretty cool plan, though -at least much better than being stuck in Campus; I got back yesterday and Iâm already exhausted.
Before you start making stupid assumptions, let me clear some things up:
no, I am not dead;
no, I wasnât expelled -they love me here;
no, where I was is none of your business;
no, if you are a pornbot, you shouldnât be following this blog;
And now that weâve gotten formalities out of the way⊠âSup, NYADA? The campus looks smaller than the last time I saw it, which is odd since it should be now hosting a third of its usual population. I know you missed this pretty mug 'round here, but suffer no more: the Puckster is back and back in business. What did I miss?
You can spare me on details, I donât really care.
âȘ TAGGING: Noah Puckerman ( @apuckcalypse ) with mentions of the Puckerman Clan, Quinn Fabray ( @wingedfabray ) and Blaine Anderson ( @happilyeveranders );
âȘ LOCATION/TIME: NYADA Campus, the SGA HQ, the field, the road; from March 10th, 2017 to June 10th, 2017;
âȘ SYNOPSIS: Sometimes one just needs to go back to their roots -or what really happened when Puck went missing for three months;
âȘ WARNINGS: parental death and violence to be safe, but nothing graphic;
Just about a week after Blaine's accident and once things have settled down in NYADA -or at least as much as they ever settled down in that place- Puck is finally ready to focus back on his studies, on his books and his training.
However, he can't help but reserve some time on the side for something else.Â
He doesn't know why this subject keeps him awake at night, but it does. It's been a long while since he's been gathering documents, staying in the library until after hours and hitting all the places the administrative staff keep sending him off to first thing in the morning. It's been a tough job, tougher than he's used to; fighting and pain, he can deal with. Endless lines and bureaucratic bull? Not so much. Long, hard hours of tedious work have been put down, but one Friday afternoon he walks out of the library and realizes he's gathered everything he needs on the Fiji incident. He's finally ready to show this to his uncle, to his clan. A rush of adrenaline runs through him as he texts his cousin, arranging the meeting and using Purim as an excuse.
It's all he's supposed to do that weekend. Give his uncle the documents. Celebrate Purim. Go back to school. However, plans were never set on stone for a Puckerman.
He packs his bags and leaves protective barriers around his whole side of the room, then as the sun sets he drives his way to the Guild headquarters where his uncle and cousins are now staying since they've earned more chairs.Â
It's the same old, same old, but for once, Puck is delighted to see them -or at least most of them. Â After a few pats in the shoulders and punches to his arm, they settle down and chat. The documents are passed around, and his uncle promises he'll do whatever it is in his power to bring this to the attention of the Guild Assembly. Puck can notice the lines drawing in between his brows, how his jaw tightens as he goes through the pages, how his eyes seem to darken as the situation dawns on him.
He's pissed.Â
His uncle Tzion is the kind of guy who'll do anything to get to the top, and that's why Puck never really bonded with him. He might be heartless, but Tzion is on a hole 'nother level. He's like Elimelech, but angrier  -and his father had big anger management issues. Puck thinks it's a consequence of being forced to live under his father's shadow for most of his life. He knows the feeling.
When it's all said and done and he's freed himself from this Fiji burden, it's finally time to relax. He spends the time with his cousins, talking about hunts, about contracts, the new ones and the old ones, the ones they fought together; they talk about their lives, how the waves are changing in the Guild, how they're growing in numbers; they tell Puck they miss him in the field, and invite him to go with them for a couple of weeks. He laughs at the idea, but the thought limbers in the back of his mind.
The celebrations go by in the blink of an eye, and soon the weekend is over and he has to go back to school, to NYADA and his studies, his future. He wishes for the old days to come back, where the only thing he had to worry about was if he'd make it through the next battle -even that was easier than NYADA. Right about when he's grabbing his keys, his cousin is notified of an ambush to some of theirs. They need backup, and quick, then the portals are set and he finds himself staring into the void of one of them.Â
Puck lets go of the keys and follows the rest of his clan; he gets in gear, and steps into the portal without a second thought.
A week goes by in the blink of an eye, and Puck only realizes this because he's starting to smell like woods and dirt and sweat. He realizes he needs a shower, and that he has to write to NYADA, probably asking for forgiveness and a way to solve this without saying he doesn't want to come back.Â
Thankfully, he's immediately told to talk to St. Pierre, who is in charge of the Slaying department, and it makes things a thousand times more easy. The professor is not a friend of the family per se, but their shared values make him be a little more loose when it comes to the rules, especially if his students are missing class while working for the SGA.Â
After that, everything else is a piece of cake. The NYADA Administration office takes care of notifying his professors and he's on online courses until the end of the semester. He'll have to do his finals before summer ends, but he's decided he's probably gonna have to deal with summer classes either way if he wants to graduate in time -and with the added major he hasn't told almost anyone he's about to start yet.
There's nothing weirder than doing homework after a hunt, Puck learns that quickly. It's surreal, but it's better than being stuck back in campus. He really needed the break from that made-up reality world he's settling into; he was getting too comfortable.
He starts thinking of never going back to NYADA -maybe being just another slayer was a better destiny for him-, but every time he's about to drop, a vibration in his pocket gives him one little excuse not to.Â
Itâs not a big deal, but he texts Ms. Fabray often, or at least as often as he can. He doesn't say much about his job, but he sends her pictures of important buildings from the places he's been sent to. He never knows what to say to her, and he knows the pictures are better than anything else. After that, they usually talk nonsense. It's easy and it doesn't mean anything, but it makes him smile. He kinda hopes it makes her smile, too.
He texts Blaine, too, a couple of times. He's not what you can call friends with him, but he's at least glad the guy's not dead. He usually just asks about his well-being in a way in which he knows Blaine will not be able to tell he cares. He doesn't care.
Before he can understand where the time went, he gets notified the semester is over, and he's sent a list of dates: when summer classes start, when and where are the finals taking place, tips on how to get up to date with his studies. A week later, the Administration sends him a new ae-mail letting him know when he should be back in school. Another week goes by and he has still not shown face in NYADA; they're not bugging him yet, but after the first days of June start slipping through his fingers, he comes to the realization: it's either now, or never.Â
It's weird, but after that, he's not hesitating anymore. He packs his bag and grabs his keys. He doesn't let go this time.
He arrives around sunset, the lights of New York blinking awake as he passes by. The city smells like smog and gasoline and hot dogs, but he finds himself smiling. As he parks his truck outside Campus, he finally takes his phone out of his pocket and finds two unread messages.Â
Yes, today is Purim! The joyous festival celebrating the survival of the Jewish people in Persia.
The entire story is recorded in the Book of Esther (Megillat Esther), wherein the Jews Esther and Mordechai defeated the evil Hamanâs plot to kill all of the Jews in Persia. You can find a complete recounting of the story here, and summaries here and here. In planning his plot, Haman threw Purim (âLotsâ) to choose the date, it came up as 13 Adar. However, Esther and Mordechai managed to convince the King not to allow Hamanâs plan, and allowed the Jews to fight against their enemies. On the 13th of Adar that year the Jews defeated their enemies, and we celebrate on the next day.
In the walled city of Shushan, the fighting continues on the 14th, and they celebrated on 15 Adar. Because of this, cities which were walled at the time celebrate Purim a day later (this is called Shushan Purim).
Observances of Purim include listening to a reading of the Megillah, baking triangle cookies called Hamentaschens (shaped after the hat Haman wore), partying, giving gifts to friends, giving tzedakah (charity), wearing costumes, and joyful partying.
Shushan Purim, Purim in walled cities, begins at sunset tonight.
FYI Shia LaBeoufâs âHE WILL NOT DIVIDE USâ exhibit was shut down today because so many neo-nazi, white supremacist fucks went to his exhibit to harass him, a Jewish person, and use his art project to promote their hate. It created a public safety hazard for the museum and they shut down what was supposed to be a 4 year project.Â
#This isnât about your opinion of LaBeouf as a person artist or actor. #This is about neo-nazis effectively using anti-Semitic violence and hate speech to get what they want.
Are these ACTUAL neo-nazis and white supremacists? Or are these shitposters frm 4chan and reddit, joking and being little trolls??
Because Iâm pretty sure these are just trolls lol.
@s-t-i-f-l-e-d every time someone implies that people on reddit and 4-chan spreading nazi ideology and harassing Jewish people are â"Just Jokingââ or ââJust Trollsââ, the gods of sense and reason die a little inside. seriously though. If someone is being a white supremacist, saying white supremacist things, saying nazi things, spreading such ideologies, harassing Jewish people, and attacking an anti-hate project, then it doesnât matter if you call them ââtrollsââ or say theyâre ââjustâ âjoking and trollingââ or some shit. Theyâre still DOING THOSE THINGS, amiga. âShitpostersâ my ass.
They were literally ON CAMERA shouting about Hitler and white supremacy. They were shouting anti-Semitic and racist things with their own mouths. Can we stop excusing this as âtrollingâ at some fucking point as if their actions donât fucking mean something?
Not to play devilâs advocate, but I donât really have a lot of sympathy for LaBeouf. Heâs also been shown, on camera, on THIS VERY STREAM shouting down people of a different opinion to his own. Iâm not saying anti-semitism or white supremacy is right, but they literally just did to him what he did to moderate conservatives.
Plus, for fuckâs sake, the majority of the people I saw were clearly just trolling. Even the few that were probably actually neo-nazis are just exercising their right to free speech. They werenât actually hurting anyone, so grow a pair and deal with it. Free speech cuts both ways.
Oh you mean when he was shouting down people who were literally in his face shouting â1488âł and âWe must secure the existence of the white peopleâŠâ both popular white supremacist slogans. And what did he shout? âHe will not divide us,â over and over. Youâre comparing people who were shouting pro-Hitler, pro-genocide, pro-white supremacy ideology to âHe will not divide us.âÂ
And that person he punched told Shia âHitler did nothing wrong.â He told a Jewish man that the genocide against his people was ânothing wrong.â This isnât a simple âdifferent opinion,â this is hate speech and advocating genocide. This is anti-Semitism at itâs core and youâre nothing but an apologist to these people. But yâall can keep exposing yourselves for what you are.Â
White people jump through hoops and through fire to excuse racism and the like.
