Pacificlog was quite the town for sailors, and fishermen. Anyone who appreciated the ocean would love to live there, although for Archie, constant hours living on water would make him seasick. Didn’t mean he couldn’t visit though. The small town reminded him closely of his own home back in Alola, and it made him smile whenever he came over with the Sharpedo pack.
But today, there was a certain someone there. Brendan the coordinator. Someone May always kept going on about, but Archie had no way of ever getting to talk to him face to face. With a grin, he sent one of his sharpedo around in order to splash at Brendan to get his attention.
From his knowledge, Archie’d also been spoken about to Brendan, so the two were aware of each others’ existence.Hopefully with the splash of water to the left of him, Brendan would come over, and a conversation would ensue.
Yep, he’s up, and he turned, and blinked. There’s a girl right next to him. A girl, with… paint on her face? What was that? What was she doing? Eh. He didn’t care. He rubbed the back of his head, and sighed as Mightyena kept barking.
“OI! I said to QUIET down.”
He fumbled for a Pokeball, throwing it at the dog Pokemon, and returning it. Ah, quiet and peaceful bliss.

“Ah, sorry to disturb you… ahaha…” Mina laughed nervously, drumming her fingers on the ground. She sat up to her knees, wracking her brain for a good excuse to give him about why she was here. Not everybody in the world was exactly appreciative of unknowingly being used as a model. Somehow this man didn’t seem like the type to be bothered by that, at least judging by how carefree he was just a moment ago, napping in the flowers.
Regardless of his response, Mina didn’t want him to force a pose if he had to. After all, he looked so naturally peaceful.
“Er, I was just looking for….” Her eyes shifted upwards, noticing the few Cutiefly that were slowly returning to where they had hovered before being disturbed. “…my Ribombee!”
Perfect.
“We’re playing hide-and-seek and she’s pretty good.” Hopefully this was a good enough lie for him to buy, as long as he ignored the fact that her fingers are freshly covered with colorful pastel residue.
Honestly the sight of Mina alone sent the swashbucklin’ pirateer into confusion. Again, he had to question - Why did she have all that paint across her face, and her hands? Yet she said she was looking for her Ribombee, whatever that was. Maybe it was some sort of paint or something? Either way, Archie didn’t have a clue.
In his half awake dazed state, Archie genuinley just felt like lying back down and going to sleep. S’not like she’d be any dangerous, she looks like she couldn’t hurt a Volbeat. But at the same time, he was smart enough not to fall asleep near a stranger. If anything happened to him, his team would yell at him, and worse than that, Maxie.
Anyway, stretching outwards again, Archie looked up above him and squinted. Were those Pokemon? What in the world were they? He was between Pokemon and Flowers, when one of the Cutiefly flew back down and landed on his nose. He sneezed, and started to laugh, because now all the Cutiefly were starting to settle back down now Mightyena was gone, and they were all landing on their previous target.
Within mere moments, Archie had gone from a tan, white colour, to a bright yellow.
Sharpedo was over the moon with his pets, pressing his head into her hand. He swished from side to side, slow waves lapping against May’s legs to show his own affection back. He forgot immediately about his rejection, focusing solely on the fun in front of him. Life was simple for Sharpedo, with her words, he grew more excited, swishing faster and faster, before he zipped away from her hand, doing a lap around the rock as fast as he could go.
Sharpedo was an extremely fast Pokemon, and with the excessive training that Archie put into him, his speed was way above average. As May continued to speak, and turned her attention to Archie again, it gave Sharpedo the chance to build up enough speed to completely push himself out of the water, up and over both her and the rock, diving back into the ocean

May clapped loudly for Sharpedo when he leaped over the rock, and for a moment before Milotic’s attention was pulled away even she seemed impressed. Despite her snobbiness, she cheered him on by throwing her own head back and cooing to the sky before she let the Team Aqua leader shower her back with affection before she encouraged the Sharpedo too much.
Okay, maybe he was lying when he said he’d fought wallace. It was more like a brief ‘his Milotic knocked me into the sea when I tried to flood the world’ kind of thing, but still!! This Milotic was no-where near as pretty as his. At least from his angle as he was falling into the ocean.
Sharpedo, meanwhile, was showing off, and honestly it made Archie roll his eyes. Who was he trying to get at? He’d just been denied by the old sea snake here, so what now? With a shake of his head, he swam away from Milotic, back beneath May as she spoke.
“Now you’ve done it, ye dont challenge Archie to a battle and expect him to back down. Are you sure you’ve ready to see yer partner doused beyond repair?”
As if on cue, Sharpedo came zooming in, right under his arm. The Pokemon gnashed it’s teeth at the idea of a battle, especially with Blaziken. It almost wanted to zoom around once more, energetic as ever.
But Archie let out a loud guffaw, a laugh that was so loud and hearty. “You could pull off a binbag if you wanted to”. May had a good sense of humour. It was nice to enjoy this moment, rather than remember years ago where they stood opposed by their own opinions.
Staring up at her - he listened, his gaze moving from her to Milotic, and then his Sharpedo, before back to her as she talks. Archie pauses for a moment. Archie may do and sound dumb at times, but he’s smart enough not to go telling the person who managed to stop him last time that Team Aqua is still active.
Yes, they may be working with Maxie, and doing better things than his stupid idea to resurrect Kyogre, BUT, that isn’t to say that May would condone the formation of the two teams working together in the first place. Having two big teams like that, especially conjoined isn’t exactly legal, and Archie didn’t want to have to move his base.

“That’s good.” May liked Shelly well enough, Matt on the other hand intimidated her just a wee bit, he was monstrous and loud and a little scary like that. She knew well enough though that really they were all just ginormous dorks, but hey, Matt just looked like he could snap her in half if he really wanted. Luckily he channelled most of that energy into… supporting his bro as he might say.

A hand reached out, and rubbed the side of the Milotic infront of him. Archie was super happy with that response. A suit AND a tie? He’s never worn one before but Maxie would choke on his drink if he saw him like that. Actually dressed like a normal human being. Hah.
However, he could tell Milotic wanted some attention, and so just like May had with his own Pokemon, he gave her his own praise.
“Hey hey, no need to get upset girl, you’re beautiful! I ain’t never seen a Milotic as dazzling as you, and trust me, I’ve fought Wallace before.”
He winked at the Pokemon, testing his charms, before looking back to May.
“Peppers yer Blaziken, right? That old fire chicken never stood a chance against Sharpedo here, but it’d be nice to see them out and about again! Speakin’ a’ which. Do you really think i’d look good in a suit ‘ n ‘ tie?”

“And, of course, ye can’t have a playlist for Maxie without the most important song.”
A genuine smile took shape when he talked about his day job before Sharpedo floated away from her petting. “Really? That’s super sweet of you, Arch.” May admitted, resting her elbows over her knees. She had to admit, he had… good intentions for the most part, and plenty of heart just… unorthodox methods, but this was quite tender.
“I could never do something like that.” May confessed with rosy tinted cheeks. “I’d get w-aaaay too attached and blubber like a baby once I had to let them go.” She had a passion for Pokemon, and with that meant family once she formed a bond with them.
“Erm… what about Shelly and Matt? Do you still see them?” It was polite to ask.
“Oh, she will, she just has to know that looks aren’t everything!” She added emphases at the end loud enough for Milotic to overhear her, and she playfully swatted the water towards May with her tail before she stuck her nose in the air at Sharpedo ogling her.
“She’s a bit of a snob, it’s my own fault for coddling her too much when she was a Feebas. She’s pretty and she knows it.” May giggled.
“Sometimes.” May nodded. “I don’t know if I have the same stage presence as I used to, heh. But they’re still lots of fun.” She gave an enthusiastic thumbs up, before grumbling. “It’s a reunion show, and there’s this guy. Chaz.” She rolls her eyes dramatically.
“He’s not so bad really… but he goes full blown jerkwad when it comes to contests. And I’m really dreading seeing him milk the press again.” May perked up slightly, and suggested sweetly. “Hey! You could come you know - it’s in the city this weekend.”

Archie slowly put his arms out either side of him and brushed back and forth in the water gently. Feeling the water against his skin and brush through his fingers was immensely relaxing and gave him a moment to think.
“Yer Milotic is breakin’ his heart.”
He said with a chuckle, as his own Sharpedo sadly swam away from the elegant Pokemon, and instead back to May, hoping for more pats and pets. Honestly, Archie had never been up close to a Milotic before, so he shifted himself upright in the water, and decided to swim closer.
“Hey there, girlie.”
He murmured quietly. Archie was a very loud and brutish man, but when it came to handling water type Pokemon - or much rather any Pokemon, he tended to be quiet, that was unless it was battle. He gently raised a hand, as if asking for permission to touch her.
However, with May’s question, Archie turned his head in her direction, and his eyes widened.
“Really? You want me to come down an cheer for ya?? I’d love to! Whilst i’m at it I may well have a word with this Chaz guy you told me about. There’s no need to be an idiot an’ ruin everyone's fun.”
