âuh, no. watch, theyâll see just how cheesy you truly are. i have years of seeing this happen.â asta snorted. âsheâs right, sheâll eat anything. even my horribly made sandwiches, she used to eat. i think she just did that âcause she loved me though, is that right?â asta grinned, leaning on his elbow and nudging her with his shoulder.Â
maeve had already started to imagine a -scary- looking lala chasing after a man with her shoes, and immediately her eyes gleamed. âa spiked stiletto⊠lala, i think weâre going to become great friends.â she took the otherâs hand and shook it excitedly. âi would love to âĄ. matter of fact, can i ask where you bought it from? i think iâd like to take a shopping trip there one day.â she asked innocently, eyebrows raised in question. asta looked between lala and maeve, before turning to face dante fully. âdid i just create a monster? is this friendship going to be the end of both of us?â he asked, scratching his head as he watched maeve and lala start talking.
âoh, him?â she pointed a thumb at dante. âyup. like every day of his life, sassy. grumpy, cranky. thereâs a lot of words to describe him.â maeve grinned, ruffling her younger brotherâs hair. âyeah, did you and possibly-yuno hit it off?â she too questioned her brother, awaiting a response from the quiet man. âreally? awe, thatâs so nice. itâs a shame we never knew you guys sooner, dante and i too lived in the red district majority of our lives. it wouldâve been so cool if we were neighbors or something.â she hummed. âi guess the district isnât as small as we thought then, huh? feels kind of weird that itâs gone, now that i think about it. i miss the red district in a way, if that makes sense. you too?âÂ
âPsh, theyâll still love me. Cheesy nâ all. Just like good oleâ mac nâ cheese. Wait, that actually was âcheesyâ... No pun intended.â Lala laughed awkwardly. âWhatever helps you sleep at night pookie. âĄâ She pinched Astaâs cheek.
Lala laughed at Maeâs praise following her crazy story, grinning excitedly herself. âYass, crazy bitches unite! đâ She flipped her hair, glancing at Asta and Dante to catch their expressions. âOh girl I wish I could tell you but wherever I bought it from donât exist no more now that the Red District has been completely gentrified. đ â She played with her hair, stowing the stiletto away. âBut if you ever wanna borrow it, lemme know! Iâm no stingy chick. It may come in handy in case youâre out on the town nâ someone tries you. Yaâ never know~â She hummed, sticking her tongue out at Asta and smiling.
Dante had aÂ đ€š expression the whole time Lala and the other two chatted. âHmm, you probably did...â He muttered in response to Asta; though on the flip side, he thought it was a good thing Mae was making a new friend. The more friends his sister had to distract her, the less he had to worry about her annoying him... Speaking of which, he scrunched his face in annoyance as she ruffled his hair. âDonât touch me, ew. đâ He protested, stepping away. âYou all are way too invested in this even though I said Iâve only encountered âUnoâ one time. But I guess things went okay. He was very chatty. Which goes against how I imagined heâd be based on âAstronautâsâ description of him.â He shrugged.Â
âHe was being chatty with you and he didnât even know you??? Okay are we sure we talking âbout the same Yuno anymore? That donât sound right... Unless...â Lala took a long sip, preparing herself to be messy. âMaybe he thought you were cute. đ Oops, did I just say that?â She took a long sip again, before suddenly taking her wig off to switch it with another one. âAw, yâall are Red District natives too?â Lala inquired rhetorically, continuing the conversation as if she didnât just literally switch wigs in the middle of it. âWell hey, yâknow what they say. Better late than never~ Oh god I really am sounding like a cheesy ass bitch now... I blame you Asta. đâ She pouted, lightly bopping him with her purse. âAnd girl I kinda feel you. We probably can all relate on kinda missing it a lilâ bit. But on the bright side, look where weâre all at now? Better things are on the horizon~â
fallinflowerrâ:â
hara had once again thought itâd be funny to sneak behind dante but unfortunately, her plan was ruined by the otherâs observant self. âugh. lame. i thought youâd fall for it again.â the girl plopped into the seat across from him, turning her powers off as her form appeared. âno pictures of hajumin today? iâm surprised. does kyumin know youâre his biggest fan?â she snickered, leaning her chair back casually. â letâs just get this over with. what was your name again? you told me last time but i donât remember.â she sighed, leaning on her elbow at the table now. âiâm hara, in case you forgot. though, who would forget little old me?â she grinned. âhajoonie told me that we need to âinvestigateâ this attack, right? honestly, how lucky would we be if we ran into another attack today⊠i donât think weâre gonna find much but might as well go check the marketplace, right?â
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice..." Dante muttered, not bothering to finish the rest of the saying. His face flushed immediately upon Hara bringing up the drawing debacle again... Ugh, she was going to hold this over his head forever wasn't she? âShut up. Would you prefer I draw you instead?â He suddenly whipped out a tiny notepad from his coat pocket, furiously scribbling a picture of âHaraâ akin to this notorious image⊠âYouâre welcome. I think I did you justice, if I must say so myselfâŠâ He snickered to himself. âHarley, got it. My name is Dante.â He answered. âEh. Iâd be able to handle it, hope you will be too.â He said coldly, shrugging as he began walking.

Even with Kyuminâs temporary absence, life in the Gold District had continued to remain peaceful - to the point where Dante was starting to feel extremely bored. What was the point of having the duty to serve and protect his leaders when there werenât any bad-guy-butts to kick lately? Dante wasnât even the type to want to battle for the âfunâ of it, but he couldnât help but feel âuselessâ patrolling around everyday for no reason. So when Hajoon tasked him with surveying the aftermath of a recent riot at Hajoon Market, Dante was more than happy to accept it. It also gave him âbutterfliesâ knowing that Hajoon chose only him instead of Mae or Asta... UNTIL he figured out he was going to be accompanied by one of Kyuminâs spies, Hara. Why was Hajoon putting them together when they werenât even in the same team!? Was this some type of forced âget-to-know-your-coworker-from-another-departmentâ attempt? Whatever it was, Dante wasnât excited about it. Especially since the last time they met was when Hara had been spying on him drawing a picture of Kyumin and Hajoon in his sketchbook... Not only was it embarrassing but also showed how nosy she was. Guess they gave her the correct role, he thought.
The two were supposed to meet at P Wada so they could make their way to the market together, yet ten minutes had passed and she was nowhere to be found. â...Okay can you come out from where youâre hiding now? We donât have all day.â Dante ordered, assuming she was using her powers to pull the same trick as last time.

âi mean my jokes are not corny but sure, lala-kins.â asta teased, pinching his best friendâs cheek. â oh, i can confirm, they are. iâm pretty sure the majority of the time, he makes dad jokes.â maeve resorted with a snort.Â
âyes, maâam. nice to meet you too, lala. ah, i picked strawberry flavor. hmmâŠÂ  a flavor for you? letâs see⊠the strawberry banana one is good too. how about that one?â she immediately started to scan the menu options once more.Â
âi told them how crazy you are. that one time you chased someone down with an axe, and how another time you almost strangled someone with your hair for spilling coffee on your shirt.â asta tapped his chin, attempting to keep a straight face while telling these lies. clearly they were made up but asta had just wanted to make her mad. âjust kidding! my lala is a tame, calm person. like⊠90 percent of the time. maybe 80 percentâŠ. or 40 percent of the time.â he hummed, patting the top of lalaâs head.Â
âoh, right! lala, can you believe that dante met our yuns? well i think itâs yuno because small world, you know. matter of fact, i have a picture of him on my phone, hold onâŠâ asta turned his phone screen on and started to look through his phone. maeve glanced at dante with a questionable look. âyou met his other friend? aw, dante. you really are making friends around here.â and heâs doing better than me in that department! she shook her head, leaning on her elbow as she sipped her drink. âso how long have you and asta been friends, lala?â
"Oop-- Looks like the jury has spoken. Please kindly accept your âLâ Asta-kins.â Lala giggled, sticking her tongue out at her friend. âSounds good to me boo boo! My little âtestâ was barely a test âcause yâall gonâ learn, Iâm really easy to please when it comes to food. I might be a skinny bitch but I am no picky eater, okay?â She hummed excitedly, shimmying in her seat. Lala rolled her eyes playfully as Asta told the false stories, adding: âPsh, listen I only act crazy when people ask for it. Like I never chased no one with an axe, but I have had to fend off a guy with my favorite spiked stiletto after he tried to steal my Chanel bag... Do yâall wanna see it? I still carry it with me âcause you never know when folks are gonna try you, hold on...â She rummaged her through her large purse, eventually pulling out said shoes. âIsnât it cute? Ah, fashionable and doubles as a weapon, what more could a girl ask for? âĄâ She sighed happily before stowing them back inside her bag.Â
Dante leaned in to take a closer look at the phone, nodding: âY-Yup, thatâs him. Guess you were right âAsteroidâ. Congratulations.â Why couldnât Asta just show that photo when he initially brought up Yuno? Dante internally rolled his eyes; nonetheless, at least it was cleared it up. âI mean... I only met him once so like, relax.â He shot his sister an annoyed glance.
âOop, is he always this sassy? đ â Lala asked, referring to Dante after observing his bratty banter with both Asta and Mae. âGirl, let me shut my ass up before Iâm next...â She took a long sip of her smoothie, adding: âYâknow Yunoâs kinda the same way. Did yâall hit it off on the right foot? âCause I can imagine that first meeting going in either direction. đ â She then turned to Mae, not wanting to ignore the girlâs question. âGirl, Asta nâ I pretty much been knowing each other all our lives. We know all of each otherâs dirty secrets. đ Thatâs how long.â
lawlipopsâ:
âiâm sorry to interrupt the little playdate that you two are having but i have to interject for just one thing,â bb clicked her teeth, walking into the room with her arms folded over each other. âi think i just need to remind you for a moment that while you might be the face of the gold district for now that doesnât meant that you can just deploy spies on a foolâs errand.â bb gum stated, glaring at the two of them. âtheyâre up to more important things and their time shouldnât be spent dilly dallying on what either one of you want them to do. now if youâll excuse me,â bb huffed, flipping her hair and walking out of the room as soon as she left it.Â
@fallinflowerrâ @aquamarine-rabbitâ
âuh the whole district? you donât think thatâs serious enough to stress about?â hajoon swatted raiden lightly at his comment, rolling his eyes.technically, i could deploy spys to look into it, right? i think iâm going toââ his sentence stopped short when bb stepped into the room. he stopped in place, already beginning to shoot daggers at the woman. it was fortunate that the two were able to withstand each other during kyuminâs absence, though he was sure it was because they had avoided each other majority of the time. hajoon had preferred it that way. however, his idea went down the drain once she rained on his parade. â i donât remember kyumin making you in charge.â he muttered, eyes narrowing at bb. â besides, i donât think kyumin would care if i sent a few spys toââ he hadnât even finished his sentence when the girl walked out of the room. so much for that idea. ââand sheâs gone⊠i forgot the fun police was here.â he grumbling as he went to the office door and locked it on their way out. âanother downside to me being in chargeâ having to deal with her directly.â he grumbled. âyouâd thinnk she had other things to do, like guardian corps shit⊠agh.â hajoon stopped himself before his rant. ânah, i donât think chanwoo would make us work. well, maybeâ he might make YOU work but not me.â hajoon snickered, going outside and locking the door behind him. ânow that i think about it, i really canât imagine either of us working there. even though we interviewed there. i feel like youâd end up dropping food orders on day one.â he grinnedd.
@aquamarine-rabbitâ
Raiden immediately tensed up as soon as BB suddenly appeared to interrupt their conversation. Static was furiously sparking through his fist as he glared at the woman, flipping her the bird once she departed. âI really fucking hate that chick, bro. Doesnât it bother you that Kyumin keeps her around when everyone knows how obsessed she is with him...? I hope you be sleeping with one eye open with her crazy ass around...â Raiden suggested, giving his friend a concerned look. âPfft. Wait, why am I even worried...? As if Iâd let that little dweeb boss me around. đ â He chuckled loudly, before smacking Hajoonâs butt. âShut yoâ ass up. Did you forget that Iâm the cool, NOT-clumsy, badass one in our duo? Youâre the Luigi, Iâm the Mario. Remember that. đ âÂ
lawlipopsâ:
âhey!â bora couldnât help but to punch raiden in the arm, which must have hurt quite a bit since she hadnât even attempted to hold back (as well as her new, but now old, super-strength boost in exchange for her pink hair). did he really have to say that stuff about her not earning her position? she hadnât thought about it at all like that until raiden had mentioned it and now it was making her a bit furious. and that stuff about her being dramatic! bora noda was many things but she wasnât dramatic. she definitely preferred being called boring over that. the woman had forgotten her nerves in her slight bout of anger, eyebrows furrowing together. âand what puzzle do you think that kyumin is creating raiden?â ugh, she hated how right the male sounded. that was something else that was annoying her. how could raiden have really been the person to out think her? âiâll give you the time of the day if you apologize for all that stuff you just said.âÂ
âFuck! Can you chill, âBora Aliâ!?â Raiden exclaimed, rubbing his arm in pain after the punch. Moments like this really made him miss Boraâs former adorable hair color changing ability. âIsnât it obvious? Heâs pretty much creating a âworldâ to his liking and placing us wherever he sees fit. I doubt he did all of this âcause heâs this âamazingâ, âgoodâ person... Yes itâs great that heâs helped a lot of people out, my family included, but I feel like heâs more motivated by being in control of everything than anything else.â Raiden shrugged. It felt relieving to be able to express how heâs truly felt about the whole development of the Gold District, even if Bora disagreed. âSeriously Bora? đ Jesus Christ, I wasnât trying to insult you. Iâm sorry if thatâs how it made yaâ feel, but I ainât backing down from what I said.âÂ
lawlipopsâ:
âyou donât sound like you appreciate it very much.â zelo pouted, perhaps he could take it as a victory that the other man was seemingly less annoyed than he was before. well, that perhaps was very quickly turning into a definitely and the bunny was suddenly a lot happier than he was before. âif the boss opens up the black district to the public, maybe then you could meet my mother. my whole entire family even! i know that you hate talking and all, but theyâre fun so you might really enjoy it. we can invite the rest of the gang to come along with us. mutants are probably really rare to you red and blue districters right?â the rabbit man asked with a slight tilt of his head curiously.Â
âTake it or leave it... Silly rabbit.â Dante murmured the last bit, furrowing his brows in annoyance before his expression relaxed as Zelo thankfully changed the subject. âOh god...â Dante blurted aloud as soon as Zelo had brought up his idea. He didnât know if he could handle being around a bunch more bunny-humanoids - Zelo himself was already a lot. âEh... Do they all act like you? đŹ â He questioned. âAnd yes. Iâve seen a lot of weird things but I honestly didnât think the Easter Bunny actually existed âtill I met you.â
slothygiraffeeâ:
âyou told me already?â Zeloâs ears drooped, did he really forget about something like that so quickly? the male had a sudden urge to snuggle close to comfort the other but the rabbit resisted it. âhave you ever actively searched for them? i mean, why donât you and maevey to that? i would think that closure would be really good for you.â the rabbit rubbed his arm awkardly, suddenly looking like he was small despite his height. âfor rabbit mutants we live in huge community dwelling together. about nintety five percent of our population is based around just rabbits. And when i say huge, i mean HUGE⊠the rabbit dwelling is basically the size of hm, i guess the gold district when we first started is a good example! and you all live on top of each other, underground, et cetra.â zelo was getting a bit off track in his explaining the set up and quickly shook his head. âanywayâ - whenever thereâs a loss, no matter how well we knew them the entire community doesnât eat for entire day. we take it pretty hard and have an entire ceremony dedicated to it, everyone makes sure to say their last words and we adorn that persons body with gifts before we send them off. i know itâs been said that mutant ghosts donât exist, but if they were im sure we would be sure to wish them off to formally say goodbye. I didnât mean to make this into a lecture or whatever..â zelo kissed his teeth, looking off at a cloud at the sky as his cheeks flushed pink with embarassment. âbut it might be worth it for you and maeve⊠might make you make some peace.â
"I-I honestly donât remember if I told you...â Dante replied, suddenly feeling awkward about his admission. â...â The quiet male didnât answer, remaining silent as he listened to the rabbit-man continue. He was surprised at Zelo giving a well-meaning perspective, but Dante himself didnât want to delve deeper on all his fucked up personal issues... Discussing feelings of abandonment and childhood trauma with Zelo would be far beyond his comfort level... âErr... I appreciate your sentiment...â He nodded, clearing his throat. There were a lot of things he wished he could say to his parents if he ever encountered their spirits, particularly his mother. â...But perhaps fate is doing me a service by not making me run into them.â He spoke the remainder of his vaguely-put thoughts aloud. âSo anyway... In other news...â He murmured, making the hint to Zelo that he would prefer changing the subject.

@aquamarine-rabbitâ @lawlipopsâ @ty-nia-melâ @tvmmy-kissesâ
Continuing his lifetime pursuit of all-things-pumpkin, Dante decided to check out Leeâs House after hearing about their supposedly delicious pumpkin bread. âSo you really arenât going to get me anything?â Crow complained, his master shaking his head. âNo. Do you even need to eat? Havenât we already gone through this a thousand times?â Dante rolled his eyes, stopping in front of the door to the restaurant. âSo??? Just because I donât need to eat doesnât mean that I donât want to experience things!â It protested. âWomp, womp, womp... Now go away, Shoo.â Dante mocked the creature, finally opening the door as the being complied with his order and vanished. He looked around; this place definitely had that cozy, âfamily-ownedâ ambiance to it. Dante didnât plan on actually sitting in, but thankfully there werenât too many patrons inside so he thought âwhy notâ. He stood idly, awaiting someone to greet him before noticing a familiar face approaching him: âOh, you work here.â He said plainly, before rubbing the back of his neck. âEr... In case you forgot, we met at the park a while ago.â

lawlipopsâ:
bora sat alongside raiden on the bench feeling everything but confident. she ddnât really know how she wanted the overall result of their conversation to go. asta had told her to forget all about him but part of her just wanted to be able to forgive raiden for the things that he had done when he thought that she had passed on. perhaps this was something that any other normal person would have done. but to bora rationally she figured she hadnât been gone that long for the man to just suddenly up and go sleep with someone else. but then again, they were barely dating when the two of them had split up anyway. ugh, but they wereâ but then again they werenât. the womanâs brain was going through an overload as it went back and forth with itself over some fight that raiden had been completely unaware of.Â
âhuh?â she snapped out of it after she realized the man had finished talking. bora slapped her face lightly before shaking her head. âiâm sorry, i promise that i actually am trying to listen. i meanââ not trying, but i mean i actually am listening. iâm sorry this is just a lot right now. donât you feel like this is like a lot? maybe weâre having this conversation a bit too prematurely?â bora pinched the bridge of her nose, shutting her eyes tightly. ugh, how much was she screwing this up right now. âmaybe we should just pretend that we never ran into each other know? look how long t took for us to actually run into each other. weâre both in two completely walks of life now anyway.âÂ
â...â Raiden sighed in slight annoyance, but nodded in agreement. âItâs âaight. Yeah, it is âa lotâ... But I donât think this is âtoo soonâ. It feels like itâs been forever since we last talked... To me, at least.â He answered. He gave Bora a look of disapproval at her proposition, shaking his head defiantly. âThatâs a tad bit dramatic if yaâ ask me, Bora... Weâre not really in two âdifferentâ walks of life. Both of us are just another two people living in Kyuminâs âworldâ. Anything weâre doing is according to what he wanted us to do.â He said earnestly; even with Bora being the dean of the Gold District academy - it wasnât like she earned it. It was only because Kyumin bestowed that role onto her. The same could be said for what the rest of their friends and associates were doing in this new land. Truthfully, even with the newfound peace, Raiden sort of hated this new life they were all living - it felt like there was nothing to strive towards, no sense of progression... âCâmon, letâs be real. Weâre basically just pieces of a larger puzzle.â He suddenly shook his head again, not wanting to get further sidetracked. âA-Anyway, my answer is no to your suggestion. Do you actually wanna have a conversation...? I just... I donât wanna lose this opportunity. Just please give me the time of day...â
fallinflowerrâ:
âwow, buzzkill. way to shut down that rumor right away. â asta joked, rolling his eyes as he moved over in the booth. âlala, this is dante and maeve. my coworkers from the guardian corps, as you know. guys, this is my best friend.â he waved off the introduction casually, before waving the waiter over. âoh no, here goes the corny lala puns. itâs only been a minute in and youâve embarrassed me. next time, iâll do the same in front of your coworkers.â he teased. âyouâre lucky youâre my guest today, or else someone would have to pay for it on their own.â asta wrinkled his nose. âorder whatever you want. itâs on the house, since we get the free food perks. heh.â
âuh, nice to meet you, lala!â maeve did a little wave towards her, elbowing her brother for him to speak up in introduction. âweâve heard so much about you from asta. well about you and that other guy asta always talks about⊠yuno, i think?â she scratched her cheek. âanyway, itâs nice to finally put a face to the name. if youâre thinking of ordering something, you should definitely order one of their milkshakes. theyâre so good.â she hummed. âwhere do you work, if you donât mind me asking?âÂ
âPfft, boy please Iâm sure youâve said your own fair share of corny jokes in front of these two. Am I wrong yâall? đâ Lala looked at Dante and Mae for affirmation. âSweet! Thanks boo boo. ⥠I need to hang around you âGuardian Folksâ more often if thatâs the case.â She joked, giggling.Â
âNice to meet you too, boo! Mae, right? Girl what flavor milkshake did you get? How âbout you pick a flavor for me? Itâll be the first test of our blossoming friendship. đâ She grinned. âWhat Asta be telling yâall about me? Spill the tea, girl. đâ She said suspiciously, though she was just being playful as she knew her best friend wouldnât be saying anything negative about her behind her back. âAnd yes, Yunoâs also a part of our little clique. Although I love him, he can be a bit âOscar the Grouchâ so itâs better yâall are meeting me first. đ â She laughed sheepishly. âI work at the school, I run a counseling program for the girl students! And oop--â She glanced at Dante, who was just standing a bit distant from them awkwardly. âHey, come over here boo! I wanna get to know you too. I donât bite, I promise. đâ
â...â Dante blushed at the unintentionally flirtatious sounding comment, deciding to comply and came a bit closer to the other three. âUhh... I-I just didnât wanna interrupt...â Plus this Lala chick was super loud. He was pretty sure they were getting stares from onlookers because of how loud her voice was. âUm... About the Yuno person... I met someone named âYunoâ weeks ago... So it couldâve been him... B-But then again itâs just a name so... A-Anyone can have that name... I dunno why I interjected with that. Ah. Ignore me.â He shook his head.
fallinflowerrâ:
âyouâre. not. helping.â he slapped raidenâs back, groaning at his friendâs annoyance attempt. âyou try handling this shit, and tell me you wouldnât be stressed as hell.â hajoon rolled his eyes, standing up and pushing the chair back. âambushed?â then again, hajoon kinda liked the idea of letting off some steam, fighting and de-stressing. âhave no clue but it⊠was a little fun. i feel like we havenât fought anyone in a while, besides that ambush. kinda took me back to the academy days.â he wrinkled his nose, heading out of the office with the assumption of raiden in tow. âdonât jinx us thoughâ the last thing i need is to report some secret ambush going on to kyumin and have him stressed out too. now that i think about it⊠you donât think thereâs some kind of bigger ambush being planned, do you? could be a coincidence that those assholes randomly attacked us but⊠it could also not be.â he paused. âyâknow, i wish i was part of that spy unit, for real. would love to do some investigating and shit. maybe i should tell melody and hara to check into it.â hajoon hummed, making it outside of the home. âdoing all this paperwork made me hungry. should we stop by leeâs house (chanwooâs familyâs restaurant)? or mgronaldâs k?â
âCalm down princess. Did Kyumin actually leave you in charge of anything serious...? đâ Based on how much Kyumin tended to baby Hajoon, Raiden had his doubts that Kyumin left him with anything to work on other than a coloring book. âAye, thatâs what Iâm talking âbout bro!â He grinned widely hearing Hajoon agree with him. Though another part of Raiden hoped they wouldnât get into too much trouble while Kyumin was away, since Kyumin would probably publicly execute him if he got his precious little âHajoonieâ hurt. âHonestly man, I wouldnât doubt it. It definitely seemed planned. Why would they attack us for no reason?â He rose the question. âYeah thatâd be pretty dope. Too bad Mister Kyumin-Jong-Un donât wanna let you do anything fun. đ„șâ Raiden pouted. He only half-heartedly nodded at Hajoonâs suggestion of Melody and Hara joining the spy unit; it still felt weird and unfortunate that they all were pretty much officially living in Kyuminâs world and had to accept it. âHmm, Iâd say Leeâs house but what if Chanwoo tries to make us work when weâre just stopping by to eat...? Heâs SO annoying bruh. I wouldnât put it past him. đ«âÂ
