Since I don't think anyone outside the SA press has mentioned it:

Alex Albon met the South African president, Cyril Ramaphosa, on his visit. He then sends a photo of said meeting to his family.

His mom recognises Ramaphosa as their old neighbour. From when Alex was a baby and they lived in SA.

So add that to the list of insane Alex lore: for the very short stint that he lived in South Africa, he was neighbours with President Cyril Ramaphosa.
