WACKIE!!!
the reddest shrimp in Wackie’s tank!
(there are 5 shrimp in this photo)
Wackie is almost 1 male Betta unimaculata ‘Tanjung Pasir’ long!
Bonus:
not a perfect to scale but these pictures really highlight how much she’s grown!
look how SMALL Wackie was when I got her! these are all from 29 October 2022 :) I’ll post current pictures soon :D
from tonight (28 Dec 2023) !!

I love how you can see her original scute size on her shell (it’s the lighter / shinier parts). She’s basically doubled in size :)
guys you’ll never believe this but they made cats that swim
Our prior turtle, Tilly, lived in a 40 gallon which in retrospect is definitely too small. But I owe a lot to her — she was who sparked my interest in this family of turtles! taken 5 Jul 2021
the mourning gecko tank is finally looking nice! cleaned the front glass too :)
funny pics from the betta tank today :)
here’s Wackie now! she’s AWESOME! the whole time I’ve had her she was tucked away in a back room…but now! She’s in the bedroom so I see her all the time :D also I’m very impressed with how well she and the male unimac are getting along!

Now that we’ve moved, the aquariums are back in the bedroom so I get more opportunities to watch the fish (and hopefully post more pictures). This is the current state of the 15 gallon! There are 3 females / 1 male of the Betta edithae (and 3 juveniles), and a small group of zebra danios (8 individuals or so). Hoping some of the baby bettas are males because the single guy seems like he’s been brooding nonstop (he’s very tricky though and has figured out how to eat while holding eggs).
The basic structure of the tank is really strong imo but the details are still needing tweaking — ideally I’d get a dwarf lily for the left side to provide some more cover for the bettas, and replant the escaping Cryptocoryne and Vallisneria so that they can get thoroughly established. The danios add great motion to the tank though, and I like that they compliment the bettas visually.
snail party!
before and after a little cleanup of the mourning gecko tank!
the erotic red of new growth under intense light… beautiful. titillating even.
