Julien: i feel like as long as you enjoyed some of it.. that is what counts.

Julien: i had fun. hunted down a few prospects for internships after graduation too.

Julien: so not boring at all. to me anyway.

Julien: ready for the school year?

Arae: that is a fair point.

Arae: Look at you being all proactive with your future. I don't know if I should be like friend level proud or... throw up a little at your ambition. :P

Arae: I am as ready as I could be. I guess.

Julien: so, where did you go for the rest of the summer?

Julien: i hope you at least enjoyed where ever it was.

Arae: Here and there nothing overly special. Had to check back in at Olympus before I headed back to Auradon City.

Arae: I mean I feel like I enjoyed the part that remember.

Arae: how about you? Did you do anything fun? Or just your boring building shit.

Nate: I'm back in Auradon, yeah.

Arae: loving has nothing to do with paying attention to your travel schedule.

Arae: we should get together. Possibly with food. I'll even be a nice sister and invite your future ball and chain too.. if she is also present.

Arae: I realize I should probably know this.

Arae: But are you already on campus??

The transition between her Auradon life and her Underworld life was always something that took a few days. She had to get used to the sounds and smells of each place. Having her dogs around made it better when she came back to her apartment. It was just a plus that Julien was in town sooner than scheduled for the big event. It gave her something to ground her. Watching as he worked at his drawing table she tapped her pencil again her own sketch pad. “You know this is supposed to be a week of celebration, I don’t think you’re supposed to be working.” Setting her sketchbook aside she stood up. Crossing the living room to stand behind him. She wasn’t really one to talk. Muse had a launch coming up, a fashion show was being planned and they had fitting to deal with for the gala. Work was never ending at the moment. “I think you need a break,” was added, her arms snaking around his shoulders. “Or I need a break... either way...” she pressed a kiss to the side of his neck. “Don’t make me sic the children on you,” was whispered playfully. @julienfitzherbert

Her reaction to his visit brought a smile to his lips. He had known the girl all his life - of course he had, she was his twin - and though to outsiders it had often seemed like Arae was distant and harsh to the boy, Nate knew the truth. This was her style and it was comforting in a way, like falling into a pattern he had long since forgotten and not known he needed until that very moment. “Just me, this time. Though don’t think you’ll be safe from visits. Autumn misses her aunt and Dante is pretty set on wanting whatever his sister wants so it’s only a matter of time before I have two very loud children in protest that I haven’t brought them around or had you over in some time. But today it’s just me fulfilling my big brother duties, checking in on you and the like.”

Arae closed the door as she listened to her brother. She knew that eventually, she would have to see the munchkins. When she was with them she had a lot less anxiety about it. But that didn’t mean she was signing up for daily auntie duties. “I’m sure we can plan a playdate at some point while you guys are in town.” there was a light chuckle under her words.  Moving farther into the apartment she picked up a few sketch pages and shifted things out of the way so that he could sit down. Her living room was a mess of fabrics and paper. “Just got back from the Underworld a few days ago. So I’m adjusting back into the life of the living. Need to get some work done and finish up a few gown projects for the Gala this weekend.” she plopped down on the couch. She was easily joined by her dogs as she settled into her place. “But I”m breathing and haven’t set anything on fire in weeks. You should be proud.”

Splitting her life between the living and the dead made Arae’s concept of time a little warped. She still couldn’t believe that it had been ten years since they’d come over from the Isle. After really thinking about it, it made sense. A lot had happened since then. But it still seemed a little surreal. The knock at her apartment door pulled her out of her mind. It was quickly followed by three deep barks. “Píso. kathíste,” slipped from her lips in a firm tone as she pushed pass three large mastiffs to pull the door open. The dogs moved to sit obediently off to the side. “Oh, it's you.” slipped from her lips as she shifted out of the way so that her brother could come in. Despite here response, there was a light smile at the corner of her lips. “Just you? Or are the miniatures around the corner?” Arae was still very much getting used to the idea of children. Especially, children that spawned from her brother. @nate-thana

10 years in the future...

Four things of importance have happened since Arae’s last year of college...

1) She came to terms with her bother’s incessant need to have some kind of family and acceptance. She attened his wedding like a good twin and ocassionally visits to see the new Thanas. Their relationship is much better these days.  Though she still has a very hands off approch.

 2) She was named the Ruler of the Underworld. She splits her time between the dead and the living. But is very proud to be doing the job her father should have been doing instead of planing petty revenge plots and trying to destroy the world.

3) She went into business with Cleo De’vil. Creating Muse, a fashion house that aims to inspire with their clothing. This honestly makes her the happiest, she gets to create all the things she’s hidden away in sketchbooks. 

4) She is also kind of dating Julien Fitzherbert, Though they don’t talk about it in any public forum. They have been seen out together on many occasions and a few pictures have surfaced from time to time in the media.

It has been pretty easy to overstay her invitation to the Fitzherbert castle. She gave most of the credit to her abilities she’d been bestowed from her father. Either way, she was actually a bit more relaxed now that she wasn’t in Olympus. It was nice. Her fingers glided over different bright colored garments as she inspected Riley’s closet. The blonde was an ideal build for most of her designs. She was just curious about what kind of aesthetic she had. Outside of shorts and beachwear.  Arae couldn’t really say she was all the surprised by what she found. But it did give her some more playful idea’s for future gowns. Hearing the door open and close to the room didn’t really phase her. Pulling a yellow sundress from the wrack she turned and sauntered out of the closet. “So is yellow like your signature color?” she asked holding the dress up a bit as she spoke. @littlerileyfitz

silently he thanked all of their previous conversations for the fact that he could lightly shrug off of the, dare he say it, slightly friendly barb. “you know me.” he offered easily without trying to act like he wasn’t drinking water. “already hit my limit for the night.” Julien joked before looking to the party around them. he knew she was totally in her element. hopefully, it would take her mind off of all the stuff she wasn’t so happy about when it came to visiting places she didn’t want to. “but to be honest, i was thinking this would be a good way to give you a chance of scenery. from…” he paused for a moment to think over his words. knowing full well what she would call where she was staying. “i’ll stick with calling it Olympus. rather than the incredibly creative ways you like to name it. wouldn’t have the right pazzaz cmoing from me.” his smiled teased the joke curling around the words.  

“one is not a limit... its barely even starting.” she countered with a shake of her head. Though Arae wasn’t one to talk about moderation when it came to drinking. She was already four deep and planed on many more. She chuckled when he refused to call Olympus any of the million names she’d use. “I don’t know, I feel like you could do the creative nicknames justice.” there was a slight teasing edge to her words. “But.. you were right.. not that I would ever admit that to anyone. It's nice to be away from my own personal Tartarus for a while.” sighing a little she glanced back at the party. “So how long till you disappear completely from all the people? or are you going to try and suffer through it all for your baby sister?”

Riley couldn’t stop from awkwardly nodding in response to Arae’s answer. The girl wasn’t really… giving her anything to go off of. She was just answering Riley’s questions, but not helping with the conversation. Which made the blonde wonder if that was on purpose. This girl didn’t seem like the most outgoing person. Still, Riley being Riley, she tried. “Are you not a fan of Olympus? I’ve never been but I feel like it’d be really interesting.”

Arae wasn’t the world’s best conversationalist. Though the fact that she’d sat there this long to speak to the blonde was an improvement. She shrugged her shoulders a little. “I wouldn’t say that its Olympus I don’t like.” she thought about her next set of words. Deciding how much information she really wanted to give the girl. “I am not a fan of my extended family. I would much rather just be in Auradon City. At least I am pretty used to that place by now.” Was offered with a sigh. “You would probably like Olympus, it's kind of like Tangelton, lots of beaches and nice sunny weather. It worth going if you like that kind of thing.” she wrinkled her nose slightly. “Every time I talk to your brother about it he won’t shut up about the architecture.” there was a faint smile that disappeared almost as quickly as is had shown up. “Yeah..”

what's your relationship with your dad like?

“I don’t have a dad. I have a person that just happened to knock up my mom and then proceed to use his offspring as his minions for twenty years of their lives. while keeping them in check with threats, fear, and belittling.”
