So while the jokes about penguins manning the place are very fun etc etc I am going to note that the reason I posted this is that polar pride is in November and the five people manning this place have decided to keep up one of the most inclusive versions of the pride flag to date far past that, which allowed my little queer heart to give a littler flutter when I offloaded onto Port Lockroy yesterday and took this picture.

Despite everything else going on today in the uk and us governments re: civil rights removal, somebody down here decided it was worth it to keep this specific pride flag up and to keep it well maintained. And I think that's lovely.
