Inside a 150 year old violin. Part of my Architecture In Music collection www.architectureinmusic.com
The breathtaking interior of a rare cello created by English luthier Lockey Hill, completed just prior to his tragic execution for horse theft in 1795. This striking photograph reveals the tool marks left by the master maker, as well as new wood and repairs carried out over the centuries, all culminating in a stunning testament to the instrument's rich history.
Shot with exceptional precision using a Lumix S1R camera and Laowa Probe lens, this photo is the result of stacking 432 images at various focal distances, resulting in a magnificent, cavernous feel that gives the impression of the cello becoming its own recital hall. The Cutty Sark.⠀ ⠀ This is a 50 year old model my dad built. I was shooting it as a test to see if I could make it look lifesize. Eventually this will form part of a work for Noble & Savage Tea (appropriate since this ship is a tea clipper!)⠀ ⠀ The water effect is created by blowing vapour over some black cardboard placed around the model. Additional texture was brought in from shots I took years ago during foggy days in Chile.⠀ ⠀ It's lit by an old rimelight which I'll soon switch for an Godox ad1200, the rear is lit by a single Godox ad200.⠀ ⠀ There are about 12 shots for the boat, focus stacked in Helicon Focus (what a stunning piece of software - I'm never focus stacking in photoshop again!)⠀ ⠀ I used a polarising filter to knock out the specular reflections on the model.⠀ Now that I know the effect works I'll dust off the model and do it again!⠀ ⠀ Shot on a #Lumix #S1R with the 24-70 pro zoom⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Thanks to: @lumixnz @lumixusa @nobleandsavage #model #ship #cuttysark #tea #photography #miniature #changingphotography #s1r #lumixs1r https://www.instagram.com/p/CAGzjTbnqQ7/?igshid=1l3vb8p4aj4jf
