heya, comet! happy new year! i wanted to tell you that your bokumachi fics are so freaking good, your writing skill and observation are amazing!! best of inspiration, health and strength to you! i also noticed a lot of people mentioning spider-related poems and stuff, so i also wanted to make a lil contribution - a song Lullaby by The Cure. i just love the way it's dark and has questionable undertones. what do you think? :) also, u made my (birth)day with the last update of Reconciliation :DD

Not pushy at all, anon!! I was struggling a lot with the latest chapter of Origin Story (huge chunks got rewritten... several times over) so it just took much longer than it should have. I’m also on tumblr less as a platform overall, so I’m generally more active on twitter!

Uhhh, there’s also this? ( ´ ▽ ` );;; Something I was working on whenever I was stuck on the latest chapter of Origin Story. I actually haven’t seen Ancient Magus Bride, and only know the general premise haha, but this was fun to write! It’s not actually finished, so consider this a long preview, I guess? A proof of concept, maybe?

The monster suddenly grabbed at the chain, and Satoru was yanked onto his toes, the creature’s maw mere inches in front of his face. “I own you, little beggy,” it said, breath cold. “Don’t I deserve to see what I paid for?”

For the Sugar Daddy au wouldn't Sachiko suspect something? I mean how is Satoru going to school and him disappearing for a some time (when he is out on vacation with Yashiro) considering the fact that he doesn't have a job?

I don’t think Yashiro would take him out of town unless Sachiko was gone for the weekend herself, since it would be too risky. Satoru’s probably saying he’s hanging out with friends or going to a club, with the money going into a separate account he has. I feel like a lot of Satoru disappearing or being evasive can be chalked up to teenager-dom.

How does Satoru understand Yashiro's logic and able to predict his movements. I read the manga too, but I unfortunately still don't understand. Could you please explain it to me. Thanks!

It’s two-fold, really! The first is that Satoru is literally from the future -- so he knows who is going to be targeted, and in what order. In that sense, it looks like Satoru is “predicting” his movements -- that’s what Yashiro thought it was, anyway. After seeing how Yashiro operated in the future (framing him, attempting to kill Airi, etc) plus going through multiple 1988s, he did manage to get a really good idea of Yashiro’s MO.

The other part is that Yashiro and Satoru both have a “hole in their heart.” The first scene of the show is Satoru discussing how he feels empty, how he’s scared to look at his own mind. That feeling pushes Satoru to want to save people. Yashiro, on the other hand, has that feeling too -- but it drives him to kill. That’s what Satoru meant by “I am the only one who understands you,” and why he’s able to predict how Yashiro will act (for example, not actually letting Satoru die on the rooftop).

Do you think a Yashiro dating Satoru would be vastly different from a Yashiro not dating him? From what I read here is that in a consensual!au, Yashiro would be more caring and would hate to see Satoru cry, but in a nonconsensual!au you see (e.g.,Reconciliation!Yashiro) enjoying the fact that Satoru is crying and would sometimes hit him.

I think he would become different, eventually. The difference being that Satoru would be the one initiating the consensual relationship. Which means Satoru reached out to him and is willing to stay by Yashiro’s side -- unless Yashiro does something. So there’s a kind of calculating reason why he would tread carefully at first. Having Satoru willingly stay is a lot easier than the alternative. I think that would eventually morph into genuine affection.

That said, I do really want to write a version of that Kensato rejection prompt showing how Satoru and Yashiro got together, in an AU where Yashiro isn’t a killer and they actually, y’know... date.
