Today the most prolific salve singer from the dominican republic, Enerolisa Nuñez, has died. Salve aka Palos, has been a musical genre looked down and further marginalized for its strong african roots and its shared practice in haiti, deemed as satanic by the general christian population for is ties to Santeria and Vudu.

However, many dominicans know the strong voice of Eneroliza and her band, from her most famous song "los olivos", which is sang from the pov of Ogum Balenyó and references several figures from the Santeria practices.
