"Born of the Broken" by Michael Aguw
Even in a post-capitalist, post-consumerist world, you still need to produce goods, as a result of this, you need factories because it is more effective to have a few people making a lot of clothes in a factory than every woman being forced to sit down and spin wool all day.
The issue with factories is poor wages, unsafe working conditions and environmental impact, all of which can be fixed through things like regulatory bodies and unions, the issue is not the fact that goods are no longer all made at home
you can have a guild-owned, guild-run, sustainable and ethical small- to mid-size clothing factory. or laundromat. or kitchen. all of these once-domestic tasks can become industrialized without the capitalism and greed.
the factory isn't evil. it's a building full of machines and materials.
Yeah. Exploitation is the problem, not the mechanisms of creation.
In good-ish news, I was in an online support group for people with my collection of neurological disorders, and someone started talking about a feeling of Rice Krispies in their skull. I know the exact feeling and I would call it "Bubbles in my face." Doctors would never know what the hell I was talking about. It's a horrible feeling, like air is moving inside your skull and face and like Rice Krispies are snap, crackle, and popping around and you can't do anything about it. Or like bubbles bouncing and popping. It's disturbing and uncomfortable.
The good part is that Emgality seems to help that a lot. It's not perfect, but it does help. I had completely forgotten about my neuropathic face bubbles!

why does this have 85K notes
because we reblogged it instead of cleaning our [x]

and, look, I’m not complaining, not at all, but this is why it’s very important to be abundantly clear and specific with your Etsy witch.
I WANT TO LOOK AT THINGS MADE BY HUMAN BEINGS
And also occasionally by pufferfish
i hate it when people mistake "etymology" with "entomology." like, i know where they coming from but it still bugs me
Chaotic day. The light rail was shut down, which made my trip to my orchestra rehearsal very difficult. I ended up having to go a completely new-to-me and much longer route, so I had to use a bus I don't know (ugh) and also I was late (double ugh). I cannot stand being late to orchestra because everyone is seated and I have to shimmy around between the seats in front of everyone. Mortifying.
Then, I got to my rehearsal and an important piece of my music stand was missing! Last year I sprung for a very sturdy portable stand. It was about $60, which is a lot of money for a portable stand, but most of my orchestra friends use this brand and I was impressed with it.
It turns out that I dropped a piece of it last week and thankfully, someone with the same stand recognized it and grabbed it. Then someone said he'd hold onto it, but it was in a different bag and he didn't have it. I spent all of rehearsal with papers flying. I have a music stand at home so I didn't even notice it was missing until I got to my rehearsal, already panicked.
Anyway, I trust the person who has it to bring it next week. I'm not worried.
This is the music stand, which I generally recommend if you aren't a total doofus who leaves the shelf part on the floor of your rehearsal room.
these women did wonders for the “i’m single and i like it that way” community… i’m having a sexy ass life!
