A complete design with transformed elements.
SKETCHING THE FOLDS AND BENDS
This is a sketch modal which is why a new style of making a design has been introduced: TRANSFORMATION.
The elements were chosen from the last assignment’s elements. Only procedures that should be applied were folding, bending and cutting without ripping off. Because of being a sketch modal, transformation process were practiced and a complete design were not done. Folding takes you to the point that you usually do in the previous assignments. But bending is different, bend has a specific duty: DIRECTING THE VOIDFLOWS. And it is quite far from being an ornament thing. OCT 30/2014
MODULE, MODULARITY, MODULAR SYSTEM - 2 In this assignment, the information and the idea of module was developed. All the elements were produced with the same module. Better groups were made and a better organization was tried to be achieved. While doing organization, there are some points that needs to be paid attention. Such as; -Planes at the same level -Point to point connection These two should be avoided. Former is precisely disapproved and the latter may be acceptable to a certain degree as long as the design provides the other necessities correctly. OCT 23/2014
MODULE, MODULARITY, MODULAR SYSTEM
Mod.ule: 1. A standard or unit of measurement 2. A standardized, often interchangeable component of a system or construction that is designed for easy assembly or flexible use 3. (Architecture) The dimensions of a structural component, such as the base of a column, used as a unit of measurement or standard for determining the proportions of the rest of the construction
( http://www.thefreedictionary.com/_/dict.aspx?rd=1&word=module)
Induction, which is the base inference of this assignment. A module, modular shape is the main piece of whole. Starting from determining what will be the module, basic design steps are followed.
When you look at the design, eye should catch the module and its usage of in other elements. This can be provided in many ways. In this design, colours emphasize the module. As a mistake, a group which is not defined well and only have one way flow is not a good choice. OCT 20/2014

Colours, circles, diameters, triangles, rectangles, scales, transitions .... Seems easy, if it hadn't taken 6 hours. October 16/2014
WEAK VOIDS, WEAK DESIGN What is weakness and how is it related to a design? A design has a meaning, or with the other words has a logic from part to whole. Variety of voids, with their shape, size, location generate that logic which is legible at first glance. But this logic, relation, connection needs a diversity to a certain degree. Voids not defined enough just make the design weak. Weak voids come up with weak interrelations. As a nuisance, making big groups does not mean that the design is 3D and it can still be linear. When you make a group, it should want to combine with some other groups in a way. Otherwise, it would be just like combining something wherever it is possible. October 13/2014
BEING RELATED ISSUE
The matter is, creating spaces and relating them enough. But how much is enough?
After making 'identical' groups, harder than that, getting them related takes place. There must be a third group between two identical groups that have common connection with the original two groups. You can not just get the identical groups together arbitrarily or you cannot use an element just for 'relating thing'.
There must be flow from one void to another. And this flow must continue without blocking.

GROUPS, RULES AND REPETITION
In a design, it is compulsory to have a group, and to relate the groups in a right way. But it is still not enough. A group must be repeated at least 3 times to have its own rule. Creating voids needs repetition, continuity.
Incompleteness is a dead-end for a design. Being incomplete is not a part of making 3D design.

One Big Deal: Creating Voids
"By itself, space does not exist. Something defines the space." -Türel Saranlı
In these works, we are trying to figure out what space is, and what defines it.
Using limited number of elements and slits randomly is compelling to make a design. Our brains have nothing about the rules of making a design, creating voids. This makes us get elements together haphazard which is not acceptable during the process of a design. A design should have a rule, or you have to make your own rules.
The other non-acceptable thing is being linear. We are supposed to make 3D works and linearity is 2D.
