Another Scarecrow painting, this time in his apartment.

I took a few pictures during the process. I forgot to take one of the line art before I started painting though. This is another 4x6 inch painting (mainly because I needed thicker paper for it and this is all I have on hand rn.)

There wasn't a separate sketch for this one (other than a little doodle on a sticky note) since it's hard to transfer stuff onto this paper.

Watercolor painting of Gabriel in Avantasia.

This started as a practice drawing, but I ended up really liking it. I had a general idea for this in my head for a while, but because the paper was so small (4x6 inches) I ended up changing a few things. Either way I think it turned out good. I'm very happy with how the tree turned out lol.

I didn't get the chance to do most of the prompts this time (college absorbed most of my time/energy), but I still wanted to post what I did get done :)

Here are the sketches. This started out as a random practice doodle (that I accidentally drew a little crooked lol.) The second one is what I used as a base when I moved it to the computer.

The background was probably the most difficult part of the whole thing. I think I spent a few hours just drawing the trees lmao. It ended up being done in three separate sections so the fog could be layered between the trees.

This would take place some point in the story after escaping prison and being in hiding for a bit, so he's not wearing his monk robes. I tried to pick clothing roughly accurate from the time period, but I still need to do more research on that in the future.

I started this drawing back in late June, but I finished most of it over the last week.

Here's the traditional sketch and the lined version.

Also, I accidentally forgot to draw the guitar strap back in before I started lining and I didn't catch it in time lmao.

His guitar turned out a little differently than I originally had in mind, but I'm still pretty happy with it considering I don't draw them often. In the future I may change the design (mainly the body shape and bridge), though I'm keeping the paint on the body cause I actually like it a lot. Originally it was just going to be solid black.

Here's some work in progress photos. This drawing went through a lot of little changes. This is the first sketch before and after lining it.

I did this sketch at 2am randomly and finished it within two hours due to a random burst of energy/inspiration. I didn't have any references on hand, so I made a lot of small changes later on. I only did an outline of the background to make it easier to transfer.

Below is after the drawing was transferred to watercolor paper and the completed background. After this point I made a few final edits before doing the line art (mainly to the coat).

I didn't get any pictures of the painting process this time. This took about a week to finish after I started painting.

Here's the sketch and the final line art for the drawing

I drew the sketch for this right before I started the painting part of the Scarecrow drawing I posted a few days ago, though technically I had started planning this one a few days before. I had done a few mini sketches trying to decide on the pose. Here's a bonus doodle from the planning phase.

After the painting was posted, I started doing the line art/color for this. The line art and some minor shading was done traditionally and the color was done digitally on top of the line art image.

Here's the initial sketch and a cleaned up version before being transferred to the watercolor paper.

I didn't take a picture of the finished line art before I started painting, but this was taken most of the color was done except the coat and some extra shading/details. I was still deciding on a background at this point, which I eventually on something inspired by the Wicked Symphony album cover.

Overall, I worked on this over roughly 2-3 days total and the painting part took about a day to complete, which is pretty fast for me lmao. I have a few other Avantasia related drawings that I worked on at the same time as this one, though they will probably take longer to finish.

I originally started this back in January right around the start of the semester, and I just finished it Friday.

I forgot to take a picture of the sketch, but I found two work in progress drawings of the painting. Here's the line art and shading done

The next picture was after the color was done, before the line art touch ups, and I after deciding I want to do a background. This was taken in mid-February.

I'm not sure if it's the poor lighting or something but it does look like the paint faded a little between this point and when I finished it, which is strange because I've only had this problem with my watercolor pencils and usually that's after a year of sitting out. The final photo here is not as vibrant as it is in person (which is the case for a lot of my traditional art), but there is still a noticeable difference to me with the actual drawing. I used multiple different brands and palettes, so I'm not completely sure which one could have caused the fading (or if it was the paint at all. I'm guessing a major part of it also has to do with how long I had it taped to my desk waiting to be finished lol.)

Either way, I love how it turned out, especially since this is one of the first times I tried doing a background like this with watercolors.

My sister and I had an amazing time at the Steam Powered Giraffe Concert last night. We were so happy to finally be able to go to one of their shows.

I wore this jacket that I have been working on for the last couple of months. It's entirely hand-painted with acrylic paint and I designed everything based on SPG's various album art, music videos, and comics. I tried to include as many references as I could.

Also they allowed some pictures and I haven't seen this one around yet. :)
