Here I am, closing the google form a little bit early. We have got so many replies, but unfortunately we have got a three way tie for our theme! So it's time for another poll to decide which one will win.

thinking about Anakin not getting Knighted during the first months of the war. maybe Obi-Wan gets half an idea of what happened on Tatooine. (he felt Anakin use the dark side at the time or maybe Anakin lets something slip). maybe Anakin fucks up his first command as Commander Skywalker big time. maybe Obi-Wan finds out he almost married Padmé. doesn't matter, whatever the case, Obi-Wan doesn't agree when the council seeks to Knight his padawan.

Anakin, unfortunately, becomes aware of this. he rages and he sulks and he complains and chafes. every bit the abrasive nineteen year old, just proving Obi-Wan's point to him. Anakin is so sure he's ready, while Obi-Wan steadfastly refuses. in defiance of his master, Anakin begins to grow out his padawan cut.

that one thing he’s always fastidiously maintained to be just like Obi-Wan was as a padawan. it's not a required haircut for a padawan, so Obi-Wan can't say anything, but he's silently aware of the insolence and sort of seething-ish.

anyways just the image of Anakin growing out his hair the way we know in that first year of the war, except his braid still hangs down against his collarbone all the same. he's in his clone wars armour over his robes and his hair is curling sweetly at his nape but there's a braid at his shoulder and he's Commander Skywalker at age twenty one.
