Next Gen Physiotherapist.

I forgot to post one event that we did few weeks back. It was a class project. We had to like, bring primary school peeps to UiTM Palam here, sort of like introducing Physiotherapy to them. They were standard 6 students of SK Bukit Cerakah & SK Puncak Alam (sorry if I got the name wrong).

It was a simple event. The kids came, divided them to groups then we walked them around our gym, showing our equipments and such. At the end of the event, they gained few knowledge bout Physiotherapy and so did we! Haha. There were few equipments that we haven’t learn just yet (sem 1 kot baru) but somehow we did managed to learn it just one day before the event - amazing. Haha.

Like this small and cute equipment (putty & finger grip) to strengthen our fingers.

Quoting my Therapeutic lecturer when we learn bout strengthening :

“Siapa kuat shopping tu, boleh lah cuba. Boleh shopping banyak-banyak, tangan tak sakit pegang shopping banyak-banyak”

Little Celebratory.

It’s Week 14 today in the academic calendar. Most people say it’s a week from hell. Back-to-back tests and presentations, assignment deadline urgh you name it!

So me myself is not excluded from experiencing the joy of Week 14 as well, of course. Mine starts with Theory & Practical test for Kinesiology 1. For theory test I don’t mind cuz I took tons of theory test already so I’m familiar with the flow. But practical test is new for me. I’ve never been assessed like this before. I was so nervous gila nak mati lah seriously during the test. But eventually, it all worked out. I can’t name 1 muscle but it’s okay. Still can focus on final exam. I bet it’s gon be harder than this. Yikes!

So what to do after such (not so) successful achievement? We eat! Hahaha =D

Health Promo.

So let me take you to last week.

Last week, we had to do Health Promotion for our assignment. We had to promote the role of Physiotherapy in healthcare, some sort like that.

So we did.

There were 5 groups overall and my group focused on the topic :

Physiotherapy in Sports.

How we do it?

Oh well, just explaining a brief on the topic to those who pass by the FSK7-PSB bridge with our "happy" face. Hahahahaha.

But really, it was fun tho. Tiring. Indeed. But so much fun.

One senior even came and listened to our “elaboration” on the topic and then feedback us with more useful knowledge regarding the topic! So cool of her for sharing <3

Another said “there’s no batch that did this kind of health promotion before. This is very cool”. Credits to our lecturer, Mr. Adnan of course for the idea! Haha.

We should totally do this again. Promoting Physiotherapy. It’s time to know that we are more than just “tukang urut”. Hahaha. Till then! =)

Why Physio?

The other day, one makcik asked me why I’m taking Physiotherapy for my degree. To be precise, she said “urut-urut pon nak ade degree”. Oi that hurts.

Physiotherapy is wayyyyy more than just “urut-urut” just to be clear.

Tak percaya? Try Google and this will come out :

“Physiotherapists help people affected by injury, illness or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. They maintain health for people of all ages, helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease”

Kita juga banyak cabang ok.

Sports - Kita tolong athletes

O&G - Some say macam mak bidan tapi way more than that of course

Paediatrics - Yup. Children pon termasuk sekali

Neuro - Stroke patients

...and lots more !

It’s a really fun field. Really.
