Yeah, she definitely has NPD. No doubt about it
I said Airi might have NPD but it could be BPD because she shows more traits of that. She could still be a narcissist with BPD though
Kitanai Kimi ga Ichiban Kawaii was definitely a roller coaster of emotions. And honestly, after finishing the manga, it definitely deserved to get more chapters flesh out its characters. When I finished the manga, the first thing I thought that it was definitely way too abrupt of an ending. Even though they were building up to it, I still feel like it needed a few more chapters to finish up its plot lines and characters.
The plotline between Yuu, Yoshimi and Ichika didn’t feel finished at all, like it was just introduced and then the author didn’t do anything at all. But I guess they weren’t the focus of the story? I still wanted Yoshimi to get reprocussions for the stuff she did because she’s quite literally the cause of everything going down hill for Hina and Airi, but she got no concequences for it. And Ichika should’ve been the one to do that. But I guess it wasn’t the main focus of the story.
We should’ve gotten a more of a reaction from the characters, like the parents? How did they feel about their children running away together? I guess that shows that nobody else truly cared about Airi and Hina other than themselves. And I think everybody in their lives failed them. I really wanted Hina and Airi to get help for their problems. And possibly live a better life together after they recovered. But fate didn’t have that plan for them. Once Hina realized Airi rather die than be without her, I guess she subconsciously decided to make that choice for her. They were never going to work out if they kept going the way they did.
If I had to describe Hina and Airi’s relationship in three words I would say, co-dependency, jealousy, and selfishness. I’ve already said enough about their relationship in my previous posts but Airi is seriously so self centered, it harms their relationship so much. The most painful thing about them is that Airi doesn’t actually love Hina the way Hina loves her. She “loves” out of desperation, to fill the void in her heart so that she isn’t lonely. And that’s selfish of her. She didn’t even want Hina to get a job to support the both of them because it would take time away from each other. Hina is actually quite selfish too, as she wants Airi all to herself. But can you really blame her?
Airi manipulated Hina in a way that made her desperate, that made her clingy, that made her crave any sort of interaction even if it was disgusting or toxic. She didn’t even talk to Hina during school hours. She treated their relationship like something secretive, like they weren’t supposed to talk to each other. Like Hina is “below” her social class. But once school ends, she shows her true filthy self to her, treating Hina more like a toy to play with than an actual person. That, in turn made Hina extremely attached to Airi, believing that she loves her because she treats her in a way nobody else does. That she gets to see another side of her that nobody else does. It makes her feel special, it feels like love, but it’s abuse. And hina only replicated the same abuse that was dealt onto her.
I think Hina has been building a hidden resentment towards Airi for everything she’s done. So in the scene where she was choking out Airi, she’s fulfilling Airis wishes, but also expelling some the resentment she’s been feeling this entire time. The jealously, the attachment, the hatred. And with that, she kills her.
I feel like Hina and Airi are both victims in their own respect, and they both deserved better. They should’ve been allowed to love each other, like any other couple. Public, or not.
But, finishing off with this review, I wanna give this manga a 7.5/10. Hina and Airi are really well written characters and I want to give the author props for that, but I still feel a bit unsatisfied with the story and its ending.
God, they’re so toxic for each other, but it’s kinda hot so I can’t look away. Airi doesn’t actually love Hina, she just doesn’t want to be alone after everyone else left her. She messed up making hina attached to her because hina genuinely loves her and will manipulate her way into staying with her even though Airi hurt her. But Hina genuinely believes Airi loves her too because of the prior things she said to her. Even to the point where she’ll force herself on Airi. Which is really, really sad. But airi did the same to Hina so, you reap what you sow tbh. Airi is just the vulnerable one now because she has nobody else to go to. Fuck this is actually so well written
LITERALLY what I’m fucking saying man, this is all airis fault idgaf, she literally made hina think that all that stuff is okay and now airi is being the one being abused because she’s too isolated to go to anyone else

Fuck, as much as I HATE them becoming an actual couple, Hina loving Airi the way she is, is.. really cute actually. Airi physically and verbally abused hina, but hina still loves her.. what gives?
Well, it’s good to accept your partners flaws as a whole and try to work with them. It’s quite nice that Hina actually started to help Airi recover herself after the incident. Maybe a happy ending between them can be found, as long as Airi doesn’t do that bdsm S&M shit again
Im starting to see where the actual name of the manga comes in. They both love each other when they’re most vulnerable. For airi, she loves when Hina is more physically vulnerable. Doing stuff she’s uncomfortable with, forcing her to eat bugs, making her do embarrassing stuff like show off her bodily fluids and act like a baby. She a sadist who likes seeing Hina dirty. Where she’s at her “filthiest”.
But for Hina, it’s more emotional. She likes when Airis more emotionally vulnerable. When airi is showing her true, narcissistic, prideful, arrogant self is when she loves her the most. When she’s breaking down, when she sees airi visibly get a crack in her “perfect” persona. That’s when airi is at her “filthiest” for hina.
Airis filthy, but she gives hina attention, and she shows her true perverted self to her. Thats when she’s her most authentic. She’ll never stop loving airi for the person she is, because that’s the airi hina grew accustomed to. And if Airi will show her most authentic self to Hina, it means she’s the most important to her.
Oh my god, Hina has become an actual victim of Airi. It’s not that she’s a masochist, it’s just that she’s really attached to Airi, and that was Airis goal all along. Even the shit that got her blackmailed gets her happy because it reminds her of Airi. Even in times like that, it was time spent with her. She loves her, and she’ll do anything for her because she’s attached to her. But Is this really love? Or attachment though? Airi purposely scouted the lonely cute girl (Hina) to become friends with to appear friendly. But once she realized she was vulnerable and would do anything for her, she started to abuse her. Abuse her and then make her seem like she was everything. But then when Airi gets caught with the abuse and it makes her look bad, she wants to cease connections with her in her breakdown. But, I don’t know if Airi will casually dispose of Hina, or if she actually loves her.
Yeah, she definitely has NPD. No doubt about it
It’s either hina is also a sadist or she just loves the payback airi is getting for making her throw up, lol
Okay the first comment is kinda funny but the second one is just straight up facts
Yoshimis character is quite confusing.. she’s obsessed with purity, and the purity of her friend Yuu. She thinks Yuu is some perfect person and she feels fear that Hina might steal her away and make her “inpure”. She’s holds a lot of jealousy towards hina. She thinks that someone who did “inpure” or “filthy” acts shouldn’t be able to be as capable as she is. But, yoshimi herself is a bit “inpure”. I don’t know if it’s internalized homophobia or something else she’s repressing but she even came to the thought of touching herself to Yuu. Which is, a lot. I feel she’s very obsessed with her. But I don’t know how far she’ll go to protect the one she loves.
Oh, I get it. She’s not worried about Hina. She’s not mad at them for them doing that sort of stuff at school. (She kinda is but) She doesn’t want her girl to get exposed to that sort of stuff. Which, I don’t get, yuu seems mostly uninvolved. She doesn’t even know what’s happening with Airi and Hina
I feel like I should feel bad for Airi right now for the “persona” she’s cultivated for all these years potentially going down the drain for some freak shes been caught doing with Hina, but why even do that stuff at school? I feel Airi is secretly voyeuristic too. I mean she literally pulled off hinas top while they were in public at an amusement park. She probably gets off of putting Hina in such a compromising position, even at school. She shouldn’t be surprised.
It’s actually really interesting how Hina and Airis wants contrast a lot in their relationship. Hina wants a softer, more normal relationship. She wants someone to embrace, to talk to, to fill in her loneliness, someone that can be comforting to her. But airi, she wants someone to toy with and make them feel pain. She wants someone that can amuse her. Airi is like a perfect child, but since everything is perfect in her life, the only thing that can really entertain her is her relationship with Hina.
