I bought new hair oil. The package is glittery and cool.

The fragrance reminds me of the wet tissue on Singapore Airlines. It has a very oriental smell…

I like using good-smelling hair oil because I prefer a subtle scent. Perfume can be overpowering indoors, but hair oil has a more natural fragrance that helps me relax.

Summer, the season that reminds us the WW2 in Japan (2025.08.09)

August 15th is the anniversary of Japan’s surrender in WW2, so some exhibitions related to the war are often held during the summer.

Today, I went to see one of those exhibitions.

The exhibition features drawings related to the war.

Some of the artworks were drawn during the war to officially document the conflict and inspire public morale.

There are artworks drawn by very famous artists like Fujita Tsuguharu. I was very surprised because i didn't know he was a military artist.

Fujita’s artworks are a bit strange to me. The title of the drawing, “A Soldier of the Imperial Army Arrives for the Rescue”, is very patriotic. However the the image doesn't give me a feeling of manliness.

This artwork is amazing, but it makes me a little scared of how art can move people’s minds.

After seeing the exhibition, I had dinner at the Vietnamese restaurant. I've been into Bun lately. It was good.

Travel to Akita and Aomori

Hi there. It's been a while since I last posted a blog.

I traveled to the Tohoku district of Japan last weekend and it was a great experience, so I want to share my photos.

Train for Sightseeing

I took a train called Resort Shirakami from Akita Station. This is a special train to see and enjoy the view from the train window. You can have a nice view of the rice fields and the Japan Ocean from the big window.

I bought an apple juice on the train. It was good.

Hiking at Shirakami-Sanchi

I hiked around many lakes at Shirakami-Sanchi. It is the hottest season in Japan now, with the peak temperature is 37 degrees Celsius in Tokyo, but Shirakami-Sanchi is not so hot here.

The lake called Aoike ( Blue Lake ) looks really beautiful deep blue. It seems the water is very clear.

The water from the mountain was surprisingly cold. I was very refreshed to touch it.

Neputa Matsuri

Neputa Matsuri is a very famous summer festival in Aomori. This was my first time to see Neputa.

Neputa is called “a moving art museum”. Floats with dynamic and beautiful drawing parades through the town.

Most of the drawings were of warriors and beautiful women, but sometimes scary ones showed up. I really enjoyed it.

Journal ( chocolates and close Onsen )

Hi, how was Valentine's day?

A friend of mine who has known each other since 12 years old sent me chocolates on Valentine's day. I'll send her nice chocolates on White day. White day is March 14th, but I'll start to search for the gift around the end of February. Good chocolates sell out quickly!

Also, I bought chocolate for myself this season. I usually forget to buy......

I woke up and saw a message from a friend, and she said "Would you like to go to Shimizu-yu?". I googled it, then it turns out Shimizu-yu is a hot spring in Tokyo. Tokyo has a hot spring! I didn't know that.

I searched more about hot springs in Tokyo and found one of them is a 12 minutes walk away from my apartment. Wow, I have an Onsen that I can go to on foot...

I must go there this weekend!

I went to Kouchi two weeks ago and bought a lot of “Imo-kenpi” as souvenirs (some are for friends and some are for me...lol). “Imo-kenpi” is fried sweet potatoes covered in sugar. I'm into it now...

Kouchi is far from the place I live, so I searched for how to buy these delicious sweets again... And found a nice online store of Imo-kenpi☺️

Journal ( Aikatsu and Pond )

Hi, how's it going?

I decided to start this blog to record my daily life in Japan. Anything special won't happen. But this is my day.

I went to see a movie with a friend. The movie's name is Aikatsu. Aikatsu is a story about girls who try to become a "top idle". Their activity to become idle (it's called "Idle Katsudou" = "Aikatsu") is crazy and eccentric, so you don't need to think about difficult things when you watch this. It's nice if you live in a complicated world.

You might feel wired that an adult sees this kind of movie, but sometimes I need simple positive power. Anyway, I was much younger when this "Aikatsu" series started. I feel nice every time watching Aikatsu ☺️

I don't have any plans today. So I just went to a park near my house for a walk.

Sometimes Tokyo is called a "concrete jungle", but actually Tokyo has a lot of nice parks.

I found a bird resting. This pond is cleaning, so the water in the pond is gone now.

Usually, this pond is very beautiful, and children play in it. I'm not sure what they do, but it seems they try to catch crayfish.

I ate a BLT sandwich. 900 yen.

I had a nice weekend. Hope you have a nice day too.
