Wonders of nature gently reminding us that life is full of magic. Know it'll be okay. Feel it deeply and remember to B+.
Keep looking at the sky.
"Of all the great works that we can experience, nature is the most absolute and enduring. We can witness it change through the seasons. We can see it in the mountains, the oceans, the desert, and the forest. We can watch the changes of the moon each night, and the relationship between the moon and the stars."

"The closer we can get to the natural world, the sooner we start to realize we are not separate."
~ Rick Rubin, The Creative Act
The other day the evening sky upon the lake turned into a stream carrying native gold dust in its veins.
"Until one day, you notice that you are always in the practice of awareness, at all times, in all places, living your life in a state of constant openness to receiving."
~ Rick Rubin, The Creative Act
Following the traces of last Saturday. The footsteps of our forefathers. Walking as a form of comemoration and release.
"Established material order is constantly corroded, everything physical changes. Corrosion results from the work of art harbouring alien life forms. In painting this can be confined to the molecular level; in a building the most potent chemistry is the interaction between the built form and its inhabitants."

"In her eighties, by-then the sole occupant (of The Schröder House in Utrcht by Gerrit Rietveld) had to be dissuaded by her sons from her habit of placing the purpose-made ladder on the top rail of the balustrade at the top of the stairwell, so as to climb into the lantern on the roof to sit and read and to look over the flat land. The purpose of unchanging rituals was at once the affirmation and preservation of the architecture."
...
"At some time someone allowed a motorway to be built across the front of the house, as if to confound its magic."
~ Fred Scott, On Altering Architecture
Hometown strolls got me reminiscing.
Rul Leskovac crystal shade bedside lamps (1970s) are on my wishlist now.
It's raining this morning, and I'm just getting ready to start my thesis session with some super aromatic Ethiopian beans I got yesterday on my coffee break at a small local roaster's (@malaprazarna on Instagram). I also finally got to try their special ginger espresso, extra stellar!
Found my study nook at NUK Library yesterday. Feeling accomplished since deciding to become a member, after a kind reminder to celebrate World Book Day, which was just last week.
"At the time, the library building was intended to represent the exceptional importance of Slovenian literary heritage. The site selected for the National and University Library (hereinafter referred to as NUK) had previously been occupied by the Ducal Court, a Baroque palace also known as Palais Auersperg, which was demolished after the 1895 earthquake."
Contemporarily, "spolia finds application in both pragmatic and ideological realms. On a practical level, it entails recycling architectural elements or materials to create sustainable new buildings ... Ideologically, spolia offers an alternative approach to construction, embracing history, learning, and acknowledging past mistakes."
