The shitty therapy they have me going to once a week is testament to that. My brother helps me more than anyone though.”

“Mhm~ but I’m not sure if she meant it or just said it to mess with people. Could be either one because she’s know to be a troll.” she shrugged. “They have you going to therapy? For your amnesia?” Ariel tilted her head to the side trying to understand. All her medical knowledge came from TV so it wasn’t the most reliable. “Has it been working?”

A worried expression taking over his features. “Jaime is sick?” He asked, looking up at Ariel. “He didn’t say anything to me.”

“That’s okay. Where are ya headed?” she looped her arm with his so they could walk together. “Yeah, right? He tells you everything.” she scoffed. Ariel knew Jaime didn’t want anyone other than family to know about his condition, but she also know he’d want his best friends to turn to right now.

My brother told me I don’t know half the people I’m supposed to have slept with. He tells me the latest rumours all the time. And why would I lie about amnesia?” 

“You mean Rita Ora? I forgot who it was but someone tweeted that they were the real Becky. They probably had a death wish or something because the BeyHive is no joke.” she shook her head. “I dunno. Maybe you’re trying to avoid something and you thought this was the easiest way out. I’ve actually seen something like that on Grey’s Anatomy. No wait- nevermind she just pretended to faint every time she was around someone. My bad.”

Brushing the tips of his fingers against his chin and lower lip, the move completely unconscious and a habit he’d picked up in his teenage years, Kei hummed softly in contemplation. “What about a compromise? I let you play with my hair, but without scissors or hair dye in hand?”

I’ll take it!” Ariel jumped at the opportunity almost nearly as fast as she was to move to sit on the other’s lap. “I’m gonna give you some braids...or maybe just a really high ponytail.” she chirped, already weaving her fingers through his silky hair. “What conditioner do you use? I’m bout to buy it.”

Considering Ariel’s words, Sabre smiled and shook his head slowly. “No, I think it’s best if I kill the rumours. I’ve heard some disturbing ones. The worst ones are that I’ve slept with random people… that’s worrying. Like am I a ho or what?”

“Suit yourself. You could be Becky with the good hair is all I’m saying.” she giggled. “How do you know they’re rumors or if the person is random or not? I thought you have amnesia...unless you’re lying.”

Kei blinked at Ariel, staring at the woman like she’d lost her mind as he slid a protective hand through his hair, tucking it under the beanie perched atop his head. Ariel had ideas and Kei didn’t like them one little bit. “My hair has never been dyed before…”

Ariel gasped at the new information. “Virgin hair?” It’s almost as though she had stars in her eyes. She wanted to play with his hair so badly but she also knew that he wouldn’t let her no matter how hard she tried to convince him to let her. “I think you should try it. More importantly, I think you should let me be the one to do it for you.”

Sabre watched the woman count off the list of rumours about him and his eyes grew impossibly wide. People really seemed to dislike him in this town. “What the shit? Are you for real?! What are they?” He asked, more than a hint of annoyance lacing his tone. “I don’t know, but apparently he’s an awful human being so…”

“M’not gonna say. You really don’t want to hear them.” she assured him. Some really weren’t that bad and but others were just plain mean. Ariel didn’t even know how some came to be. Didn’t seem like Sabre was a bad guy. “Use that to your advantage. Pick a good name and leak it yourself.”
