a nightmare and a dream at the same time. this is what was happening. a dream to have been joined once again with the man she loved; a nightmare that they had to meet under these circumstances. she wished this was all a dream, she wished it with all her heart. somebody pinch her and wake her up already. she wanted to wake up next to illya, in his arms. but that wasnât reality. this was. a cruel and unforgiving one. nadya hoped with all her heart that maybe their future lives will be sung on a happier note than this one. the possibility of a happy ending with illya in another life was everything that sustained her unwavering feelings toward the russian prince.
she quickly pulled away her hand from his, cleared her throat, wiping away her tears, willing them back into her ducts if that were even possible. wiped away everything that may seem suspicious to the sound of familiar footsteps coming towards illyaâs corner.
â youâre french is getting good. iâm a little jealous. â nadya managed to put up a smile on her face, even playfully teasing the mexican. she was beyond thankful she had a friend she could always count on. â black coffee, no sugar, no milk. perfect ! â she blew on the pipping hot liquid before answering her inquiries. â i kind of am, lyubov is really energetic these days, must be the neighbors constantly feeding her those cookies. â she laughed. if anything could put a smile on nadyaâs face it was her child, their child, she glanced at illya for a quick second. â i was assigned to him. â she wiggled her eyebrows. â congratulations ! youâve just got yourself a date with an unconscious russian soldier ! â she winked at rena, hurriedly grabbing her things. â itâs only fitting you take care of him, since you did save his life and lyubov is waiting for me back at home. you know how needy that child gets. â she drawled out, exaggerating. steps rushed as she headed for the door. â good luck ! â
she jets out⌠runs as far as she could. her lungs breathing in so little air and exhaling so much, she was burning up. but this was better than seeing illya. better than the heartbreak sheâll get, because that pain⌠it was beyond unbearable and she suffers with it still to this day.
( illyaâs pov ) a few hours laterâŚ
the sound of air raids, bullets coming out of nowhere, the scent of iron brutally invading their nostrils and the cries of help. they flashed so quickly illya couldnât keep up. he wanted to move, but he couldnât. it was as if his body was locked in place. this is a dream, this is a dream. he willed himself to wake up. wake up illya this is a dream. itâs over.
he woke up. sweat dripping from his face, his mind a mudded mess. jumping straight up to sit on a bed. it was a weird sensation how comfortable it was, he hadnât had a decent mattress to sleep on since he joined the war. the next thing he saw was a girl before him, a very ethereal looking girl. he wondered if he really did die and go to heaven. is this what an angel looks like ?Â
â wâwhere am i ? who are you and what am i doing here ? â his russian language rolled off his tongue with ease.Â
â merci vou cu, nadya.  my mother would kill me if i donât practice it to perfection. she believes that one day ill be a very good diplomatâ lorena rambled as she took a sip from her coffee. the queen of mexico always did wanted her children to succeed thats why she asked for excellence.  âit at this rate i officially know you by your choice of coffee.â she expressed and looked at the male figure, laying there looking peacefully. part of her was thankful thatch had gotten the chance to save him; every man deserved a second chance and he was no different. âmy dear should get some rest; maybe i can help you out with iyubov. of course only if you donât mind. i believe you donât always have to do things by yourself-ill be more than happy to help you out. besides she is so precious and sweet, you certainly donât find kids like that everyday â  lorena expressed with complete honesty; the princess admired the other. she had never met a person who could balance her work life and a childâs.  however she noticed the others sudden reaction and before lorena could question everything, nada was already grabbing her things. âno no no, donât do this to me.â rena shakes her head as she was handed his medical file. âthis is not funny! one i donât know russian and two just because i saved him doesnât mean i should be his nurse!â the mexican expressed quite honestly; quite anxious all of the sudden. so many questions yet so little time to ask. nada was already far away to even hear lorena say. â you owe me one! you owe me big timeâ she silenced herself remembering she worked at a hospital unit.Â
hours passed; and lorena was constantly checking in on the russian soldier to see if there was any progress. the princess wanted to make sure everything was okay with him. if a sense the girl felt responsible since nobody had yet reported him missing or somebody from his unit had come along. doctors came to check on the soldier and cleared him from having any post risks. they once again congratulated on the nineteen year old nurse and lorena felt pride. it was 5: 30 pm and most nurses and doctors were leaving. as she sat down next to the soldier the girl wondered many things about him. what was his name? where was his family? why did he join the force? and most importantly did he recall who he is?
lorena elise was half way threw a novel when the other worked up suddenly. she quickly got up, placed the book on the chair and walked towards the male. she was captivated by his clear ocean blue eyes and the girl was probably a mess. she quickly realized he was speaking in russian and unfortunately she wasnât skilled in it. her other option was spanish however she was certain he wouldn't understand so english it was. âhello my name is elise sarai, iâm a nurse here at british convalescent & rehabilitation system in paris. you were hurt and its a miracle that you are a liveâ
