your fantasy au ficlet for your wip meme?? please? pleas?plesae?

So the fantasy au ficlet is a drabble thingy of my larger general fantasy au centered around Bryan/Nigel that I also brainstormed with @shes-a-voodoo-child. The lore doc for it is uh, a lot, but the jist is: Bryan is an ancient dragon who helps guard a nearby human kingdom in an agreement. The king wants a mage to serve as his liaison with the dragon, also acting as it's keeper/tamer. To make a name for himself, Nigel takes on the challenge. It's a clash of personalities, there's battles between them, but they grow a mutual respect over time. So when Nigel is presented with the opportunity of slaying a weak and injured Bryan for glory, he doesn't think twice before saving the dragon's life by linking their mana forces together in an unbreakable ritual.

The drabble itself is a peak during the period where they're adjusting to the fresh mana bond, and the complications that come with it. Complications such as: telepathy between the two parties.

It didn’t take long until a stream of consciousness invaded Bryan’s mind. All in Nigel’s internal voice, his anxiety and worries about Bryan’s condition, filter across the new mana connection. They’re still strengthening the bond, learning all the ins and outs on managing the flow of thought and energy. 

It’s very strange to quite literally learn how to keep your thoughts to yourself. 

When you live by yourself for years, you don’t think about how the upkeep and decor might look to others. Organizing things in a way that makes sense only to yourself, leaving the stray cup or laundry to the wayside, out of mind.

Then one day, someone moves into your private space and they get to see the way you live every single day. You start thinking twice before setting down your cup.

It's purely a porn with no plot concept of bryan and nigel's wxw match in which a shitheel bryan won with a sneaky low blow and nigel's really pissed and wants revenge by putting dragon in his place 🙂‍↕️nothing too deep or complex. I guess in a small way, it's also part of my exercise in getting in the head of bryan's smug prick side (there's a couple other wips I try to toy with it). My kneejerk reaction to him is with biased waifu glasses, and as much as I love indulging in it, I also get really self conscious about it lol. Bc I think the fact that he thrives being a jerk in his core despite so many ppl thinking he's a super babyface is one of my fav aspects of him that I don't express creatively too often.

There's not too much sfw excerpts I can share on this blog, and I think I already showed you this part that's safe, but I'll repost it again 🫡

Bryan swallowed his words and did as he’s told but he knows it’s all a test. A way to draw out the anticipation and fine, he can work with that.

Even with the blood thumping in his ears from barely an hour ago lingering. The memory of shoving through the musty air and sardine-packed venue, muscles cramping in an attempt to sprint backstage—not once did he look back. Not even as the mic screeched from feedback and Nigel’s strained voice echoed in the halls. How it’s not a matter of if, but when, he’d fucking kill Dragon for winning in such a rotten way. The buzz of an adrenaline spike, a contrarian voice in Bryan sneering, ‘Then try and fucking catch me.’

Maybe he put too much power in the low blow, and maybe the small package was a cheap move. But tough luck. Dragon played with his food long enough and Nigel failed to keep his guard up.

how come you deleted a bunch of your old warhammer art? i went looking for them and they'd almost all disappeared :'(

sorry anon, but I was feeling some type of way a few years ago--feeling very negative about the fandom, the things i saw and experienced, the quality of the books/canon works, etc. Hated everything. I wanted to erase basically everything I did and distance myself as much as possible. My oc work survived tho, for personal attachment and also bc I made them with a good friend.

there's some aspects of 40k I can enjoy now, but from a distance and limited to close friends. I'm most likely not going to repost old stuff or new things any time soon on this account. Maybe one day tho ✌️
