“Hello, and welcome to the Endless Forest..”

Hello! Wil here, I am starting a Roleplay blog using Ark! A character from my story Hidden Growth! Stories with this character are purely experimental and used to practice the character!

I am open to almost anything! But I prefer the following plot for this character-

[your character’s name] is banished into the Endless Forest, meeting Ark through their confusion.. Ark promises a way out, if [character] is willing to spend the night alongside his campfire. to keep him company throughout what would’ve been “another lonely night” for him.

A chill and relaxing roleplay, about aiding a lonely fallen warrior.. will you keep him company?

Starter for @stoopidrppalace !! (Yes, most starters with Ark start with the same description of the forest, I’m adding some new stuff to the usual starter. qwq)

Another day for Ark.. the forest was very.. lush and beautiful. Overgrowth covered the many ruins, moss clinging to the trees. Dusk however, didn’t treat the forest kindly. Or so it’s unlucky visitors would think nowadays. The cervitaur wanders, looking for someone who may have been banished here. He still had some daylight to spare before he had to retreat back to his ‘camp.’

But.. today might have been different. No fallen people for days now! He wondered if the forest was finally freed.. but no, the spirits still had emerged at night, and it was his sworn duty to find the lost and return them home.

He calls out to the forest,

“Hello?? Is anyone there? Do not be afraid, I am not your enemy!”

"W-wewe am I?" Azuri was wandering through the forest, mainly taking interest in one of the ruins. It had been an hour since he fell into this realm, and he was fully convinced that there was nobody around but him. Naturally, he was surprised when he heard another voice call out for someone.

"Wh-who's thewe?" Azzi jumped up at the sound of the voice calling out, before looking around and instinctively getting on all fours.

Azzi's tail had also changed, now gaining a bladed end.

Ark would stand on a slightly defensive stance, but he keeps his bow in it’s resting place.

“Hey, hey! Like I said, I am not your enemy.”

“thank the lords you were found so close to my adobe.. There are only mere minutes until dusk..”

The deer looked very focused, looking down at Azuri

“My name is Ark, I am able to guide you out of this forest alive.. it is my sworn duty.”

Ark bows to the best of his ability.. a loneliness hidden in his emerald eyes.

“I only ask for a night in return. To keep this old warrior company- being alone here takes a toll on me.”

"..." Azuri remained in his stance, thinking the offer over. He had no idea how he found himself in this strange forest, and by the looks of it, there was seemingly no way out anyway. Azuri got back on two feet, his tail returning to normal.

"O-ok. I'll trust you. My name is Azuri. You can get me out of here, right?"

“Azuri..”

Ark gives a small smile towards Azuri.

“Yes, indeed I can. Guiding you out at the current time is possible. But.. I’d rather not. Spirits lurk in the darkness when night falls- the ones who remained lost here before I came.”

Ark looks up, the area around them was beginning to get darker. What looked to be gemstones in the forest floor were beginning to glow with the light stored from the day.

“On that topic, we should hurry..”

Azuri steps away from one of the glowing gemstones as Ark was speaking, mumbling something to himself. "I-It's gonna get cold and dark... I don't do well with cold..."

"You're right. We should get going!" Azuri promptly dashes off in whatever direction on all fours. Literally a few seconds later he heads back to Ark.

"Hey, so on an unrelated note, where is your home?"

He was quite shocked for a moment, he was relieved that Azuri came back.. the darkness grew fast and the gemstones dimly lit the forest.

"Just.. just this way-"

Ark leads Azuri to a campfire, two tent like adobes surrounded around this strange fire. The fire would change color ever so often.. and then back to it's orange flame

"Make yourself at home, if you will. I do admit, not the best place to stay, or comfortable. But it does it's job."

Regardless of Ark's description of the living space, Azuri decided to take "Make yourself at home" in stride, promptly heading to one of the adobes on all fours, before sitting down with his hands on the floor.

"Thanks for letting me stay. I thought I was gonna be all alone again..."

Ark follows,

"It is no problem at all, I was thinking the same about tonight.. too."

He sighs, "it is unfortunate being all alone here, I cannot bear another feeling that fear."

"Hehe... thank you..."

Azuri curled up into a ball, and while he did let out a yawn, his mouth overtook his entire face, creating a creepy-looking jaw. He went out like a light shortly afterward.

Ark looked shocked, he studders, questioning a bit.. but.. this kid, well he thinks it’s a kid. Is someone he took in, and he was not one to judge on one’s appearance. Ahum, the deer body and head.

“Y-your welcome.” Ark walks out of the tent, resting by the fire. Staring into it- and sighing.

While Ark was resting and Azuri was asleep, someone else was wandering through the forest, approaching the adobes.

They looked to be a man somewhere in his mid-20s, wearing a black hoodie with a camo pattern. He wore a pair of headphones around his neck and had a face mask that seemed to be part of his face. He illuminated the area around him with the light produced by a flame from his finger. "It's nighttime now, and still no sign of Az. *sigh...* where is he?"

The light would cause the gemstones to glow even brighter- attracting a spirit to his area. An illusion- “followww meeee!!”

And another.. “No! Follow me! I know the way out!”

And.. a third one. He releases a gust of wind in the three’s direction. “You.. numbskulls! We ALL know the way out!” The two spirits whisked away for a couple seconds, before reforming from the ground.

they all took traits from animals of sorts- while maintaining what looked to be somewhat human bodies. the first had some bunny features, The second was a fox, and the third was a falcon. The falcon appeared to be the leader.

The two spirits yowl- “Then how come you haven’t found a way out!!??”

These three spirits start bickering and fighting amongst themselves. Forgetting about the person they were even.. well.. trying to help.

"What the hell?!" Buxander watched as the first spirit was attracted to his flame. Then another. Then another, with the third one's wind blowing out Buxander's flame.

As Bux watched the three argue, he tried to sneak towards the adobe.

The spirits kept on arguing.. looks like that’s gonna last for a good while..

Upon reaching the adobe..Ark was tending to the fire. Adding little sprinkles of gemstone dust to it. He sighs- “the kid went right to sleep.. normally I have to talk a bit more for one to go out like a light..”

he stares at the fire. “there goes my conversation for the night- but, at least I saved someone.”

"Er, hello? Who the hell are you?" Buxander was hiding behind one of the adobes, out of the view of the spirits. Not that they were paying any attention to him, anyway.

Ark perks up, hearing the spirits arguing, then someone’s voice. “I would say the same to you..”

Ark looks around- “but, to keep things on a safe end, my name is Ark. my job is to lead people out of this forest alive.. I’m pretty sure you have seen the result if someone stays long enough without safety already.”

Buxander looks back at the still arguing spirits. He then came out from behind the adobe.

"So that's what happened to everyone else, huh? My name is Buxander Kinsley, but you can either call me Bux or Buxkin. Er, did you happen to see a blue-haired cat kid around here?"

“Indeed, they all lost their way, I couldn’t find them soon enough..” he dips his head, a disappointed look on his face for a moment. But he shifts his gaze back to Buxander, his gaze turning back into it’s usual welcoming smile.

“Bux, it is nice to meet you- and I indeed have. Took him in for the night- you can find him in the tent over there.” He points toward the adobe Azuri was in- going back to tending the fire.

Another day for Ark.. the forest was very.. lush and beautiful. Overgrowth covered the many ruins, moss clinging to the trees. Dusk however, didn’t treat the forest kindly. Or so it’s unlucky visitors would think nowadays. The cervitaur wanders, looking for someone who may have been banished here. He still had some daylight to spare before he had to retreat back to his ‘camp.’

But.. today might have been different. No fallen people for days now! He wondered if the forest was finally freed.. but no, the spirits still had emerged at night, and it was his sworn duty to find the lost and return them home.

He calls out to the forest,

“Hello?? Is anyone there? Do not be afraid, I am not your enemy!”

"W-wewe am I?" Azuri was wandering through the forest, mainly taking interest in one of the ruins. It had been an hour since he fell into this realm, and he was fully convinced that there was nobody around but him. Naturally, he was surprised when he heard another voice call out for someone.

"Wh-who's thewe?" Azzi jumped up at the sound of the voice calling out, before looking around and instinctively getting on all fours.

Azzi's tail had also changed, now gaining a bladed end.

Ark would stand on a slightly defensive stance, but he keeps his bow in it’s resting place.

“Hey, hey! Like I said, I am not your enemy.”

“thank the lords you were found so close to my adobe.. There are only mere minutes until dusk..”

The deer looked very focused, looking down at Azuri

“My name is Ark, I am able to guide you out of this forest alive.. it is my sworn duty.”

Ark bows to the best of his ability.. a loneliness hidden in his emerald eyes.

“I only ask for a night in return. To keep this old warrior company- being alone here takes a toll on me.”

"..." Azuri remained in his stance, thinking the offer over. He had no idea how he found himself in this strange forest, and by the looks of it, there was seemingly no way out anyway. Azuri got back on two feet, his tail returning to normal.

"O-ok. I'll trust you. My name is Azuri. You can get me out of here, right?"

“Azuri..”

Ark gives a small smile towards Azuri.

“Yes, indeed I can. Guiding you out at the current time is possible. But.. I’d rather not. Spirits lurk in the darkness when night falls- the ones who remained lost here before I came.”

Ark looks up, the area around them was beginning to get darker. What looked to be gemstones in the forest floor were beginning to glow with the light stored from the day.

“On that topic, we should hurry..”

Azuri steps away from one of the glowing gemstones as Ark was speaking, mumbling something to himself. "I-It's gonna get cold and dark... I don't do well with cold..."

"You're right. We should get going!" Azuri promptly dashes off in whatever direction on all fours. Literally a few seconds later he heads back to Ark.

"Hey, so on an unrelated note, where is your home?"

He was quite shocked for a moment, he was relieved that Azuri came back.. the darkness grew fast and the gemstones dimly lit the forest.

"Just.. just this way-"

Ark leads Azuri to a campfire, two tent like adobes surrounded around this strange fire. The fire would change color ever so often.. and then back to it's orange flame

"Make yourself at home, if you will. I do admit, not the best place to stay, or comfortable. But it does it's job."

Regardless of Ark's description of the living space, Azuri decided to take "Make yourself at home" in stride, promptly heading to one of the adobes on all fours, before sitting down with his hands on the floor.

"Thanks for letting me stay. I thought I was gonna be all alone again..."

Ark follows,

"It is no problem at all, I was thinking the same about tonight.. too."

He sighs, "it is unfortunate being all alone here, I cannot bear another feeling that fear."

"Hehe... thank you..."

Azuri curled up into a ball, and while he did let out a yawn, his mouth overtook his entire face, creating a creepy-looking jaw. He went out like a light shortly afterward.

Ark looked shocked, he studders, questioning a bit.. but.. this kid, well he thinks it’s a kid. Is someone he took in, and he was not one to judge on one’s appearance. Ahum, the deer body and head.

“Y-your welcome.” Ark walks out of the tent, resting by the fire. Staring into it- and sighing.

While Ark was resting and Azuri was asleep, someone else was wandering through the forest, approaching the adobes.

They looked to be a man somewhere in his mid-20s, wearing a black hoodie with a camo pattern. He wore a pair of headphones around his neck and had a face mask that seemed to be part of his face. He illuminated the area around him with the light produced by a flame from his finger. "It's nighttime now, and still no sign of Az. *sigh...* where is he?"

The light would cause the gemstones to glow even brighter- attracting a spirit to his area. An illusion- “followww meeee!!”

And another.. “No! Follow me! I know the way out!”

And.. a third one. He releases a gust of wind in the three’s direction. “You.. numbskulls! We ALL know the way out!” The two spirits whisked away for a couple seconds, before reforming from the ground.

they all took traits from animals of sorts- while maintaining what looked to be somewhat human bodies. the first had some bunny features, The second was a fox, and the third was a falcon. The falcon appeared to be the leader.

The two spirits yowl- “Then how come you haven’t found a way out!!??”

These three spirits start bickering and fighting amongst themselves. Forgetting about the person they were even.. well.. trying to help.

"What the hell?!" Buxander watched as the first spirit was attracted to his flame. Then another. Then another, with the third one's wind blowing out Buxander's flame.

As Bux watched the three argue, he tried to sneak towards the adobe.

The spirits kept on arguing.. looks like that’s gonna last for a good while..

The deer looked very focused, looking down at Azuri

“My name is Ark, I am able to guide you out of this forest alive.. it is my sworn duty.”

Ark bows to the best of his ability.. a loneliness hidden in his emerald eyes.

“I only ask for a night in return. To keep this old warrior company- being alone here takes a toll on me.”

"..." Azuri remained in his stance, thinking the offer over. He had no idea how he found himself in this strange forest, and by the looks of it, there was seemingly no way out anyway. Azuri got back on two feet, his tail returning to normal.

"O-ok. I'll trust you. My name is Azuri. You can get me out of here, right?"

“Azuri..”

Ark gives a small smile towards Azuri.

“Yes, indeed I can. Guiding you out at the current time is possible. But.. I’d rather not. Spirits lurk in the darkness when night falls- the ones who remained lost here before I came.”

Ark looks up, the area around them was beginning to get darker. What looked to be gemstones in the forest floor were beginning to glow with the light stored from the day.

“On that topic, we should hurry..”

Azuri steps away from one of the glowing gemstones as Ark was speaking, mumbling something to himself. "I-It's gonna get cold and dark... I don't do well with cold..."

"You're right. We should get going!" Azuri promptly dashes off in whatever direction on all fours. Literally a few seconds later he heads back to Ark.

"Hey, so on an unrelated note, where is your home?"

He was quite shocked for a moment, he was relieved that Azuri came back.. the darkness grew fast and the gemstones dimly lit the forest.

"Just.. just this way-"

Ark leads Azuri to a campfire, two tent like adobes surrounded around this strange fire. The fire would change color ever so often.. and then back to it's orange flame

"Make yourself at home, if you will. I do admit, not the best place to stay, or comfortable. But it does it's job."

Regardless of Ark's description of the living space, Azuri decided to take "Make yourself at home" in stride, promptly heading to one of the adobes on all fours, before sitting down with his hands on the floor.

"Thanks for letting me stay. I thought I was gonna be all alone again..."

Ark follows,

"It is no problem at all, I was thinking the same about tonight.. too."

He sighs, "it is unfortunate being all alone here, I cannot bear another feeling that fear."

"Hehe... thank you..."

Azuri curled up into a ball, and while he did let out a yawn, his mouth overtook his entire face, creating a creepy-looking jaw. He went out like a light shortly afterward.

Ark looked shocked, he studders, questioning a bit.. but.. this kid, well he thinks it’s a kid. Is someone he took in, and he was not one to judge on one’s appearance. Ahum, the deer body and head.

“Y-your welcome.” Ark walks out of the tent, resting by the fire. Staring into it- and sighing.

Or so it’s unlucky visitors would think nowadays. The cervitaur wanders, looking for someone who may have been banished here. He still had some daylight to spare before he had to retreat back to his ‘camp.’

But.. today might have been different. No fallen people for days now! He wondered if the forest was finally freed.. but no, the spirits still had emerged at night, and it was his sworn duty to find the lost and return them home.

He calls out to the forest,

“Hello?? Is anyone there? Do not be afraid, I am not your enemy!”

"W-wewe am I?" Azuri was wandering through the forest, mainly taking interest in one of the ruins. It had been an hour since he fell into this realm, and he was fully convinced that there was nobody around but him. Naturally, he was surprised when he heard another voice call out for someone.

"Wh-who's thewe?" Azzi jumped up at the sound of the voice calling out, before looking around and instinctively getting on all fours.

Azzi's tail had also changed, now gaining a bladed end.
