bit late to the game, but here it is! my #artvsartist2025 !

self-reflection ahead 🦦🌱

2025 was my last year of uni and the year I spent the most with artists, especially from UCL Graphic Novels & Comics Society. Being in such an artistically inclined environment really pushed me to get back into illustration after many years of hardcore studying! In doing so, I pushed myself to be more patient with my work, and made more conscious artistic decisions. Moreover, being #jobless gave me time to learn to leverage my hyperactive mind while keeping distraction and perfectionism at bay. Finally, as a computer scientist, talking to artists at convention stalls was a big whiplash to me. Since my degree is intensely career-oriented, I had to learn to adjust my approache when talking to people of different trades. It's definitely challenging, but super worth it - you get to meet all sorts of lovely people with different approaches to art!

Ultimately, 2025 was a very fulfilling year for my art journey. But there's always room for progress! And for that reason, in 2026, I'm aiming for more illustrations, stickers, and weird zine ideas, hopefully with some cons along the way :)!

final thoughts on my first artfight ✨: it can be time-consuming, but the focus on fun and good vibes takes a lot of pressure away. Imo, the best part is getting attacked by a total stranger - it’s great seeing how others choose to interpret your OCs! definitely recommend!
