Book Review
So much of my time has been spent doing research or writing. The latest thing I read was...
Nazi Wives by James Wyllie
For those not in the know, I have been working on an honest to god novel that takes place in Nazi Germany starting in 1942. One of the things that has been difficult has been finding out about the wives/mistresses of some of the higher ups.
The books that were out there are now out of print and are extremely expensive. Stuff I find online doesn't always have a way to verify it either.
The book itself was an interesting read. You can see it happening in your mind's eye. However, I find that the author didn't use the best research information/techniques.
Lina Heydrich (I am picking her because Reinhard and Lina Heydrich are both in this piece I am working on) published a book herself in the 1970s. (It is not in English) A lot of what was in the book was ....lets say .....stretching the truth. The author used her book in his own research and writing.
I had to get the book out of England. It wasn't being sold here in the US. However, Amazon Prime covers the shipping.
Interesting? 4.5 stars
Factual? 3 stars.
One of the very interesting things was supposedly Gerda Bormann (Martin Bormann's wife) wanted polyamory to become legal. She wanted her family and his mistress' family to live together in a big home. She wanted to make sure that the mistress had something like a marriage contract affording her the same rights as Gerda.
So there you go. If you are a history buff, you may find it interesting. I wouldn't trust the information without verification however.
I'm baaaaaaack
Muhahahaha. Oops. Outloud evil laughter.

types of healthy coping skills
1. self-soothing
comforting yourself through the 5 senses
Touch: stuffed animals, stress balls, taking a bath, a soft blanket
Hear: music, audio book, guided relaxation
See: snow globe, glitter, calming images, art, anything that pleases you visuallyÂ
Taste: tea, mints, gum
Smell: lotion, candles, incenseÂ
2. distraction
removing your focus from the stressor for a period of time
puzzles, art, crafting, reading, movies, gaming, exercise, being social
3. opposite action
doing the opposite of the impulse that aligns with a positive emotion
affirmations, inspiration, lighthearted and encouraging focus
4. emotional awareness
identifying and constructively expressing what youâre feeling
journaling, listing emotions, using a emotional identification chart, drawing, therapy
5. mindfulness
centering and anchoring yourself to the present moment
meditation, guided relaxation, yoga, breathing exercises, candle gazing, going for a walk
6. ask for help
this is important to do when you feel like your coping skills are not enough or they are too negative and detrimental Â
therapy is ideal for helping a person create a healthy coping strategy and incorporate it into their lifeÂ
*a coping skill is considered healthy if it helps you to deal with stress more positively, does not hinder your progress, and isnât harmful physically or mentally. A coping skill can become negative when it is used to completely avoid dealing with the stressor.Â
this is important

@fizzyxcustard @armitageadoration Ooooh I like chunky, beardy, Richard.
Yeah totally! 2.Moving around while kissing and stumbling into things...3. Kissing so desperately that their bodies curve into eachother...12. Huskily whispers 'kiss me'. I thought it would be cool in one prompt like Thorin whispers, then they stumble around, then the desperate curving thing, but put a little bit more eloquently đ.
You lay in your bed, having found a way back through to your world from Middle-earth, where you had been the last few weeks, travelling with Thorin Oakenshieldâs Company. The mystery as to how you had wound up there would no doubt never be answered, but you had been granted a way back by a magician that you had spotted out on the road when you fled.Â
Every night since coming back and you had cried yourself to sleep, images of Thorin so perfectly preserved in your mind. But your love for him had become so unbearable that fleeing had been the only way of escaping the further torment of seeing him every day, knowing that he would never be yours.Â
Tears dripped down your cheeks and you rolled over to face the wall, the pain erupting in your chest. Which was worse? Living without him at all? Or living with him but seeing him in the arms of another? No doubt that would be the case once Erebor was re-claimed; he would take a Queen and begin conceiving heirs to make sure that his lineage endured.Â
The last time you had seen Thorin had been when you were in Beornâs barn. You remembered that night clearly, watching him stand by the window. He had his back to you and he was looking up at the full moon. You had always wondered what he was thinking in those moments. Then you decided to leave. No one would miss you if you crept away, taking the back door out. Surely you would not been seen or really cared for much by the Skinchanger.Â
Sleep took you away into a dreamless sleep, a place where you were at peace. There had been no dreams since you returned from Middle-earth. Maybe your subconscious mind was saving you from yet more pain and had pushed away any thoughts of the Dwarf King.Â
In the dark a figure was sat down beside you. Unknown to you, his hand rested on your head and his fingers trailed idly through your hair. How could you have not realised that he loved you? All he thought about was you, imagining you sharing in a coronation for both of you where a circlet of precious gems would be placed on your head.Â
Your sleep began to become weaker and you ascended back up to the waking world. Something was touching your hand and instantly in your mind, you thought of Thorinâs hand in yours. Was it the remnant of a dream?Â
âThorin,â you whispered, smiling.Â
âIâm here, my dearest,â a reply came.Â
How could this be possible? You gasped, sitting bolt upright in your bed. âThorin?â you asked again.Â
âWhy did you abandon us?â he asked sadly.Â
The room was still dark, so you stretched over and turned on your bedside lamp. You sighed at the sight of him. He was the most beautiful man you had ever laid your eyes upon. The sadness in his eyes made a lump rise in your dry throat. Your lips quivered and then your dam broke. You wept.Â
âIâm so sorry,â you replied. âI didnât think youâd care if I left.âÂ
âWhy would you ever think such a thing?â he asked, moving closer so he was resting on the edge of your bed. âYou have no idea how dear you are to me. I had to come and find you.âÂ
You placed your hand against Thorinâs cheek, cupping it. He leaned into it more, kissing your palm. Then he looked at you and moved his head closer, whispering in a deep, husky tone, âKiss me.âÂ
Everything snapped. A huge rubber band of self control, love and joy exploded and you threw your arms around him and kissed him. The heat mounted, higher and higher, paired with your groans and pants. Thorin kissed your lips, your cheeks, your neck, every inch of you that he could get to. With a giggle of surprise, he lifted you from the bed and you wrapped your body around him. You needed contact with him. Every part of you curved against him, your chest, hips, legs. It was as if your bodies were truly one, entwined, curved into one solid shape.Â
Thorin suddenly stumbled backwards, and knocked your lamp from the beside table. Both of you laughed and you continued kissing, only this time your feet were flat on the floor and your body moved after his. Your bodies were desperate for each other; your back arched and Thorin would arch with you, the two of you synchronised.Â
âI love you,â you told him, parting from your kiss for air.Â
âAnd I you, always,â Thorin replied, preceding to begin removing your clothing.Â

HIGH SCHOOLERS âźď¸âźď¸ COMMUNITY COLLEGE IS OKAY!!
Please donât ever let anyone shame you for attending.
Let me tell you something: community colleges are nothing short of GREAT! I started out at SUNY/Rockland Community College (aka Harvard on the Hudson), and the truth is it is what you make it. If you treat it like âThe 13th Grade,â then thatâs what it will be for you. But, if you take the challenging classes, find the teachers who care, and get involved, it can be a stepping stone, or (as in my case) a second chance.  I walked into RCC motivated, but truthfully not expecting much from the school. Luckily, I was wrong. I encountered nothing short of a miracle. I found the teachers and classes mentioned above. They didnât want me to regurgitate what they told me. They wanted to hear my ideas. They wanted me to think for myself. They wanted my voice. I worked hard â I busted my butt! â and ended up with a 3.941 GPA, (Yes, Iâm bragging!)  In the beginning, I didnât plan to become involved in extra-curricular activities or clubs. I wanted to get my credits and get out the door. But, as Captain Jack Sparrow ponders, âFunny old World, inâit?â I ended up saving and then running the school newspaper, battling the schoolâs Board of Trustees and the County Legislature over the jobs of 30 teachers and employees, and walking away with an armload of National, State, County, and school awards.  Perhaps even better, I watched friends and classmates transfer to Harvard, Yale, Brown, Cornell, and Vassar (to name a few). And, when I moved on to a four-year school, I was well prepared, and earned a 4.00 GPA.  So, if you screwed around in high school (like I did) and donât have the grades to get into what too many people call a ârealâ college, or if you and/or your parents donât have the money for you to attend a major school, community colleges give you a way to save a ton of money, while earning an Associateâs degree, and then transferring to a four-year school to finish your Bachelorâs.  No matter what else I accomplish in my life, I will always be proud of what I did at RCC.
Even if you donât do it the way the OP spoke about, let me tell you something. If you have a class that you hare a HORRIBLE time with? Take it at a community college.Â
My math skills outside of the realm of basic math (addition, division etc) suck. My brain does NOT like algebra and the likes. There was no way I could have passed a regular college math class.Â
So, in the summer I took all my math. The community college had a tutoring room. So I could go there and have humans help me (without having to pay for a tutor out of pocket). They also had each chapter in the books on dvd so I could watch it at home and do it step by step. I could rewind and watch it again or if I missed something.Â
Also, the class was small (ten of us) so there was room for 1 on 1 help through the instructor. It made my life so much easier.Â
