I have two favorite days, both of them spent with you: The first is the day you graduated basic training. We had been apart for three months, with only a few letters and a few short phone calls in between. We sat in my hotel room, speaking shyly to each other. It was like we were teenagers again, like we forgot how to be affectionate. Suddenly you laid on top of me, and you kissed me with out stopping. Tears rolled down my cheeks, and you sat up and asked me what was wrong. I never like to cry in front of anyone, and I wasn’t used being open, but I remember blurting out “I just love you and I missed you so much!” And I swear you kissed me the hardest you’ve ever kissed me before, and you fucked me like you’ve never fucked me before. Moans and whimpers both escaping my mouth, your heavy breathing and whispered ‘I love you’s still play in my mind from time to time. I don’t think I’ll ever know the feeling again of having so much love in my heart that it overflows and pours from my eyes. The second day is the Halloween we spent in Portland. We went to the movies, walked the streets hand-in-hand eating donuts, visited an antiques shop. When it got dark, we ran for several blocks in the pouring rain so our car wouldn’t be locked inside the parking garage only to find that it didn’t close til two in the morning. So we walked back, laughing breathlessly while our lungs burned, and stood across the street from a bookstore smoking cigarettes and chatting with two homeless men. I remember looking at you, feeling so exhilarated, and I felt that there was no place in the world I’d rather be than right here, no one in the world I’d rather be with than you.
