Mobius Invades New York
It's a big multiverse, and it just so happens that in one universe, Loki never came through The Tesseract.
Mobius after eons just watching time pass with little hope of seeing his Loki again stumbles upon this universe and decides to act out Loki's part in a bid to feel closer to his lost friend, and to discover a way to see him again.
He's spent ages observing Loki and the sacred timeline, how hard can it be?
Just imagine, The Tesseract being all dramatic and out pops this random guy who looks like an accountant. A face search brings up a match to jet ski salesman Don from Ohio. This is who they're up against.
Mobius decides to call himself Mr. Tesseract to really lean into the whole villain-persona. By the time we get to the 'captured by SHIELD' part of the plan, everyone is absolutely baffled. Yet Mobius is somehow evading their interrogation with a blase kind of attitude and hitting all of their weak points.
----
Anyway, the plan goes off the rails, and Mobius has decided to use the space and time stones to pause time across all universes so he can travel through the world tree and talk to Loki.
Loki, who is seeing all of this happen in realtime, tries to prevent Mobius from putting himself in danger by sending subtle pushes to people in the timeline to stop Mobius. He even tries sending hints to his TVA friends when they pop in on a timeline.
As a last ditch effort, he even tries throwing that timeline's Loki in his path to try to get Mobius to move on.
Mobius is not having it.
I can never stop thinking about -
Alastor, femme-fataling his heart out: Oh no! I've been defeated by SUCH a strong man, I have NO CHOICE but to put myself in your mercy! Where you could do anything you want to poor little old me! Oh! (pretends to faint)
Vox: I can do anything I want???
Alastor, making sure his tits are out: Oh, yes! How could I ever stop you? (bats eyes)
Vox: We're going on a smoothie date.
Alastor: Wai-wait, what?
Vox, vibrating with excitement: SMOOTHIE. DATE.

How do you think Alastor chooses his victims? Who do you think he would target and who he will never target?
I think Alastor would never target children. Based on what Vivzie has said in the past, children are 100% exempt. Apart from children, I think that even though Alastor has a preference for killing men, Alastor would kill anyone who met his victim profile. As for how he chooses his victims, I find it delightful to have received this ask at this time because I have actually been thinking about this due to the recent theory about how Alastor lured his victims when he was alive, which has been gaining popularity.
The theory is that Alastor, when he was alive, lured his victims by seducing them. The evidence being used is how pretty and charming Alastor is, along with how his shirt seems to be open when he killed them being compared to the scene with Vox.
I like the theory, but I have already seen some people start pointing out certain issues with it. The issue was that if Alastor was only killing men that he could seduce, that meant that he was only killing gay and bi men who would be sexually attracted to him. This would restrict his victims to only people who were attracted to him. However, I think the issue here is that the focus on sex has led people to ignore the fact that temptation is about more than sex. Sure, he could be pulling them in based on sexual attraction, but he could also be tempting them based on a wide variety of vices that they may have had. My main theory, one that even encompasses the sexual attraction angle, is that he was hunting them by making himself prey. This is also what he did with Vox, even if it tends to get lost amid the focus on how distractingly hot Alastor is. Alastor exposes his injury and plays up his weakness during the fight to make himself seem like prey.
I doubt any of these people had good intentions towards Alastor. He therefore places himself in his victim's path, making himself appear like weak and easy prey. Something that they could get away with using and hurting. They think they are hunting him, but he is hunting them. This is behaviour that has been part of his lore since he was just an undead dear in Zoophobia. It also matches the playbill released after Season 1, where he invites people to attack him. I think this marks Alastor's preferred victim. He likes victims who give him a reason to attack them by making the first move. However, as seen in the comic, he is not above making an exception for those who break certain moral codes around him.
Thanks for the ask.
